2023 Nike EYBL Session 3 Stand-outs

Over the May 13-14 weekend, RecruitTheBronx.com made the trip to Southwest Athletic Center in Carrollton, Texas for the third session of the Nike Elite Basketball League, which had teams from New York City and New England competing in action. Here are the standouts of those teams throughout the weekend:


Adam Nije, Jr. 6-2, Point Guard, Cardinal Hayes High School, Expressions Elite, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to speed up or slow down the offense when it comes to the pace of the game. Knows when to when to drive to the basket to score and when to dish the ball to his teammates for an offensive opportunity. Brings plenty of energy to his team.


Steven Solano 6-11, Forward, Cardinal Hayes High School, Expressions Elite, Class of 2024 - A forward that has a penchant for being an asset to his team, as he brings plenty of size and length to his team. Has the ability to block shots and also alter plenty of shots when it comes to the defensive end. On the offensive end, he is good at making hook shots and also can throw down powerful dunks at the rim.


AJ Dybantsa, 6-8, Forward, St. Sebastian School (MA), Expressions Elite, Class of 2026 - A forward that is very skilled and versatile on the court. Although he’s a wing, he has the ability to play the guard position. Is able to attack the glass and can run downcourt with ease. Shows plenty of athleticism, as he is able to drive to the basket at all times. Has a long wingspan, which allows him to obtain rebounds and block shots.

 

Johnuel Fland 6-0, Point Guard, Archbishop Stepinac High School, PSA Cardinals, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt at his position when it comes to getting the ball and making great use of possessions. Has the ability to attack the lane when driving to the basket and is able to finish with strength. Has the ability to shoot from long range and is a great distributor to his teammates.


Matthew Hodge, 6-8, Forward, St. Rose High School (NJ), PSA Cardinals, Class of 2024 - A forward that has the ability to make his presence felt in the low post area. Is able to outwork the opposition onto the paint and is a strong finisher in the paint area. Is able to showcase his athleticism when it comes to throwing down powerful dunks.


Christian Bliss 6-4, Shooting Guard, George School (PA), PSA Cardinals, Class of 2024 - A guard that has a penchant for scoring on the break and has the ability to play off the ball. Is able to drive past the opposition to attack the defense. Is a good shooter from three-point range and is able to show off his skills as a floor general.


Tahaad Pettiford 6-1, Point Guard, Hudson Catholic High School (NJ), New Heights Lightning, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to direct plays and also score in transition. Is able to attack when on the fast break and is very fearless at his size when going into the lane. Is able to distribute the ball to his teammates and can create for himself off the dribble.


Elliot Cadeau 6-2, Point Guard, Link Academy (MO), New Heights Lightning, Class of 2024 -A guard that has the ball at all times and is able to control the tempo that his team is at on the floor. Is also able to slice and dice his way to the basket at all times and is a solid finisher. Has a penchant for distributing the ball to his teammates at all times.


Meleek Thomas, 6-3, Shooting Guard, Lincoln Park High School (PA), New Heights Lightning, Class of 2025 - A guard that has a penchant for making his presence felt when on the floor. Has a nice shooting touch from the outside and has excellent footwork. Has the ability to shoot floaters when going to the rim and is able to attack when driving to the hole.


Dylan Harper New York Rens - A guard that has the ability to take over a game with his ability to dominate. Has the ability to see the floor very well and is a good shooter from long range. Is able to drive the basket and can make great plays on the court. Is also a good passer that will put teammates in position to score at all times.


Ikenna Alozie 6-4, Shooting Guard, The Patrick School (NJ), New York Rens, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to run in the fast break and can also attack in transition. Knows when to take high-percentage shots and is also an athlete on both ends of the court. Is a player that can use his athleticism and either block shots or throw down dunks off the break.


Dwayne Pierce 6-6, Shooting Guard, Christ the King High School, New York Rens, Class of 2024 - A guard that is able to see the floor and is able to use his muscle to outwork smaller opponents. Possesses plenty of toughness and is able to score in transition against the opposition. Is able to shoot from long range, especially when left ope
