The Norman Thomas High Tigers compete in the PSAL Manhattan A I conference and look primed this winter for an even better season than last year, when the program made its first Sweet 16 appearance since 1982.

Norman Thomas Coach Cecilio Gomez brings back senior guard sharpshooter Dominique Tayie and senior forward Jhereme Asamoah, both will look to lead an extremely talented, but inexperienced squad. Senior point guard Darrien Evans also will add some leadership and much needed firepower for the Tigers this season. Possessing an undersized but powerful body, Evans will surely bring a sense of toughness and quest for perfection that the Tigers most desperately need.

Senior guard Zyaire Hart will add some much needed shooting alongside Dominique Tayie giving Norman Thomas some increased scoring options. While undersized, senior center Elias Mohammed should be a force and a double-double machine that will make the Tigers a well rounded team on both ends of the court. Senior guard/forward Nosazena Edosomwan should bring some much needed leadership, as well as an undeniable will to win and compete on both ends of the court.

Sophomores Abubakar Bukari, Mike Fresella and Jayden Brito should see a good amount of playing time and add some offensive firepower, together with athleticism and youthful enthusiasm to the 2021 Tiger Squad. Junior Taj Bibbins, an undersized point guard who carries a 3.7 GPA, should help provide some poise and toughness to the point guard position. Bibbins brings a pitbull Chris Paul-like attitude to the team which should rub off on the rest of his teammates.

Pending on what happens this season in light of Covid-19, the Tigers are poised for its best season ever and should emerge as a serious contender for the PSAL Class A city championship.
