Gauchos Roundball Classic - Top Performers 10/11/20

This past Sunday, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to the Gauchos Gym in The Bronx for the Gauchos Roundball Classic. There were three games played. The first game was between Showtime (a team comprised of players from Boys & Girls High School) and NYC Broncos (a team comprised of players from South Shore High School), the second game between Positive Energy and RF Elite and the third game was between the MSM Yankees (a team comprised of players from Mount St. Michael Academy) and Elevation Nation. Here are the standouts from Sunday night’s games:

 

Khalil Brantley 6-1, Point Guard, Boys & Girls High School, Class of 2021, Showtime - A guard that is a dominant scorer and can take over the game with his shooting and is able to run in transition on the floor. Is very fearless when driving to the basket against multiple defenders.

 

Camden Blount, 6-4, Shooting Guard, Boys & Girls High School, Class of 2021, Showtime - A guard that is a solid player that helps his teammates wherever they’re needed. Is able to attack the basket and is able to run in transition. Has a great knack for scoring on the fast break and is also a great rebounder.

 

Jaqai Murray 6-4, Forward, Boys & Girls High School, Class of 2021, Showtime - A forward that has plenty of toughness that is not afraid to get physical on the floor and is able to do damage in the paint area to the opposition. Can put the ball on the floor and penetrate into the lane. Is able to get to the line easily and can attack in transition.

 

Aubrey Nicholson 6-2, Shooting Guard, Boys & Girls High School, Class of 2021, Showtime - A guard that has plenty of athleticism when in transition. Loves to play above the rim, especially in the open lanes. Is tough to stop when getting to the hole & has a knack for scoring in clutch moments.

 

Max Ragusa 6-0, Point Guard, South Shore High School, Class of 2022, NYC Broncos - A guard that is a great distributor and is great at running a team. Has great court vision and can see where his teammates are moving at all times. Knows when and where to get his shot off and is able to get to the basket.

 

Kipplyn Richvine 6-1, Point Guard, South Shore High School, Class of 2021, NYC Broncos - A guard that is a natural scorer and can make plenty of plays at the two-guard position. Is great at getting to the basket easily and is tough to stop when he has the ball in his hands. Loves to get to the basket.

 

Ziare Wells 6-6. Shooting Guard, South Shore High School, Class of 2021, NYC Broncos - A guard that has a long wingspan and also has a long wingspan and can give his teammates the ball at the right places and at the right times. Has plenty of athleticism and loves to get to the basket. Is great at defense and loves to guard the opposition’s best player.

 

Nivek Borden 6-6, Forward, South Shore High School, Class of 2022, NYC Broncos - A forward that is a great physical specimen in the low post. Is a big presence in the paint area, as he is great for blocking shots & getting rebounds. Uses his physical attributes to absorb contact when going up on the offensive end of the floor.

 

Khalil Robinson 5-9, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2023, Positive Energy - A guard that is able to get through the lane easily and loves to play through the fast break. Makes great passes and has a great IQ for a point guard. Knows where and when to pass the ball to his teammates.

 

Jayson Lee, 6-0, Point Guard, Brandeis High School, Class of 2021, Positive Energy - A guard that has good hands and is able to guard the opposition’s best scorer. Is able to attack the basket when on offense and is able to make moves that help him to score. Great at running in transition.

 

Princeton Wheeler 6-5, Forward, Harlem Village Academy, Class of 2021, Positive Energy - A forward that is solid in the low post and is able to do great things on the boards when it comes to rebounding. His physical presence on the inside gives his team a much needed boost. Has great hands, which also allows him to block shots in the low post.

 

Zyaire Price, 6-3, Shooting Guard, Hillside High School (NJ), Class of 2023, RF Elite - A guard with a long wingspan that is able to trail a loose ball and is good at staying with his defender. Has a great jumper and is able to get to the basket easily. Does not back down from a challenge that is given to him by the opposition.

 

Earl Morton, Jr., 6-1, Point Guard, Hillside High School (NJ), Class of 2023, RF Elite -A guard that likes to run on the fast break and has a penchant for scoring and is able to get through defenders with ease. His quickness allows him to get from point A to point B with precision. If not stopped, can take advantage on offense.

 

Anthony Akade, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Newark Arts High School (NJ), Class of 2024, RF Elite - A guard that is quick on both ends of the floor. Is very active when it comes to getting steals and seeing where teammates are moving on the floor in regards to getting passes.

 

Donovan Crawford, 6-5, Forward, North Brunswick High School (NJ), Class of 2021, RF Elite - A forward that is dominant in the low post and is able to absorb contact. Is great at attacking the glass and has great physicality in the paint area, when it comes to dealing with the opposition.

 

Tyler Hawkins 5-8, Point Guard, Mount St. Michael Academy, Class of 2022, MSM Yankees - A guard that makes heady plays on the court and has good court vision. Despite his small frame, he is fearless when getting to the basket and does not hesitate to absorb physical contact when driving to the lane. Is great at hitting his teammates with good passes and knows when to distribute at the right time.

 

Quincey Platt, 6-7, Forward, Mount St. Michael Academy, Class of 2023, MSM Yankees - A forward that has have active hands and incredible strength to go along with his size in the low post. Has a penchant for getting rebounds and blocking shots. Is able to draw fouls efficiently and can dominate inside on offense.

 

Rafael Castro, 6-9, Forward, Dover High School (NJ), Class of 2021, Elevation Nation - A forward that stands out above the rest in terms of height. Uses his frame to tower over defenders & is able to dominate on both ends of the court. Is able to move on offense with his ballhandling skills.

 

Daniel Rivera 6-5, Forward, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Class of 2021, Elevation Nation - A forward with plenty of strength that is very solid and has plenty of guard skills on the court. Loves to play above the rim and can create off the dribble. Is a great rebounder and has the ability to run on the fast break and also block shots.

 

Maurice Odom, 6-1, Point Guard, Union City High School (NJ), Class of 2022, Elevation Nation - A guard that has tremendous quickness and a penchant for scoring in bunches. His speed allows him to get steals and defense and run a team in transition. Is able to see where his teammates are moving and pass them the ball.
