2025 Gotham Hoops Classic Player Profiles

The Gotham Hoops Classic is an in-season, multi-day showcase, being held at the Bronx Community High School. The annual event features high school teams from diverse regions. This platform significantly boosts visibility for aspiring players, offering exposure to college coaches from various two-and-four year programs nationwide.


Below we profile the players on the participating teams.

Chase “Moolah” Timberlake (2025) 6’0 guard -  2 year varsity captain. 3 year varsity starter. All conference as a sophomore.  2nd team All Long Island as a junior. He averaged 18 points 5 assists 4 rebounds and 2 steals a game last year. Last year had 40 in one game and 37 in another. This year he has had two 38 point games thru BSHS’s first four games. Quick athletic scorer who can finish very well at the rim as well as shoot the 3 ball. Very good defender who guards the opposing teams best wing scorer. Plays AAU with Rising Stars.


Gabriel Phillips (2026) 6’3 small forward - 2 year varsity player and starter. Captain this year. All County as a sophomore.  Averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds a game . Last year had 20 rebounds in a single game. This year he has already had 15 rebounds in game.  Strong athletic forward who can score on the box and shoot the 3 as well. Good defender.  Plays AAU with Heat Elite.


Ethan Sainsbury (2026) 5’8 point guard - 3 year varsity player. Captain and starter this year. Jet-like quick PG who can handle the ball and get people shots. Very unselfish guard who can also score the ball and shoot the 3. Pest on defense. Plays AAU with Heat Elite.


Michal Saint-Jean (2027) 6’0 small forward - 1st year as a varsity starter. Tremendous energy and hard worker. Very good defender. Runs floor very well. Can get to rim and shoot the 3.


Jacen Bacon 5’10” Guard- 2nd year varsity player.  Combo guard. Can handle ball and shoot the 3.


Jordan Williams 6’0 small forward- 1st year varsity player. Athlete who can get to the rim. Quick fast athlete.


Tyler Saulters (2025) 5’11 guard- 2nd year varsity player. Quick athletic scorer who can shoot the ball. Plays AAU with Boys 2 Men


Isaiah Lett 6’2 small forward- 1st year varsity player. Athlete who can get to the rim.

 

 


Bridgeport Prep (CT)
Head coach: Greg Thomas


David Johnson  (2025) 6’3 guard (Brooklyn,NY) - Combo, 2 way bulldog that gets it done on both sides often the ball. Has been Offered be Cal Berkeley and has major interest from UNC Charlotte, UMass, Stetson.

 

Josue Kangudi (2025) 6’6 small forward (Congo)- Explosive wing with a pro body and pro athleticism. Shoots, slashes, defends and dominates on the offensive glass. Has significant interest from Fairfield, NJIT, Central CT, Lasalle and Drexel.


Andrew Mabry  (2025) 6’3 guard (Springfield, MA) - Combo guard that is a poised assassin and tough on ball defender.


Dimiere Brunson (2025) 6’10 center - Brunson is a big man, who is developing along a path that was similar to DJ Burns. He has soft hands and a great touch around the basket. He can also stretch the floor with his 3pt shooting ability. He is a great screener, and an adequate pick-n-pop scoring option off of those screens. A scholarship level player.


Tristan Burth (2025) 6’8 forward (Bronx, NY) - A high energy, high IQ player.  Big time rebounder. Interest from Fairfield University.

 

Gideon Ekukwai (2025) 6’11 forward (Unganda) Big time shot blocker and rebounder who can get a basket in the paint.


Harvin Guevara (2025) 6’10 forward (New York, NY) skilled big and rebounder. Runs the floor handles the ball and shoots the 3. Interest From Elon, San Francisco.


Travis Upchurch (2025) 6’0 point guard (Bridgeport,CT) smooth shifty point guard who organizes, defends, facilitates and can get a basket when needed. 2024 CIAC State Champion MVP.


Eric Swain (2025) 6’3 guard (Rutland, VT) Big body guard that shoots it well and crafty finisher who rebounds well at the guard position. 3.0 gpa


Thomas Kaine (2025) 6’3 guard (Stratford, CT) - Super athletic sharp shooter with a knack for scoring.  3.8 gpa


Khalil Thompson (2025) 5’11 point guard (Hamden, CT) - A strong and athletic guard who provides tremendous on ball pressure, attacks the rim, and is a very capable shooter.


Jordan Harris (2025) 6’2 guard (Conyers, GA) -Harris is a tough, 2 way combo guard who is tough in transition and creates scoring opportunities with his on ball defense.  3.3 gpa

 

Nicco Apodaca (2025) 6’3 guard (Poughkeepsie, NY) A playmaker with a great feel for the game. Apodaca is a glue guy who defends well.


Emanuel Lawerence (2028) 6’10 forward (Ansonia, CT) Long athletic front court player who rim protects and runs the floor. Big time prospect.

 


Broome Street Academy (NY)
Head coach: Curtis Jackson

 

Samuel Acevedo (2025) 6’0 combo guard - Acevedo is a three year starter at Broome. He is one of the toughest kids to stay in front of in NYC. He finishes at the basket consistently. Left open he will knock down the three. Not only is Acevedo a prolific scorer, he is a 94 ft defender. He scored over 1600 career points in his three years at Broome. 3.4 gpa


Isaac Foster Jr. (2026) 6’1 point guard - Foster Jr. is a pure point guard. He gets into the paint at will and finds his teammates for easy baskets. He has great range on his jump shot and finishes over defenders at the basket. He is a true leader on and off the floor. Foster Jr. is one of the best on ball defenders in NYC. He averaged 6.8 steals per game last year. He recorded the first triple double in Broome Street Academy history last year, and finished the season with 4 triple doubles.


Davien Chance (2025) 6’0 point guard - Chance transferred over late last season and came on strong. Chance shoots the 3 at a very high clip. He can create his own shot and has a great midrange game. He is a great defender that takes pride on the defensive end. 


Louikenson Exantus Boiron (2025) 6’2 combo guard - Boiron is a senior transfer from Canarsie High in Brooklyn. Boiron is a big strong guard.  He has a college level body already. Strong at the basket. Can create his own shot and has a great mid-range jump shot. He knocks down the three pointer at a high clip. He is a sneaky athlete. He will finish over the top of a defender no matter the size. Boiron is also a prideful defender. Big and strong enough to guard 1 through 4.


Mikael Javier (2025) 6’4 small forward - Javier is a hard working do everything player. He can guard all 5 positions on the floor. Great on ball defender. Great defensive instincts. Javier is a lights-out shooter from everywhere on the floor. He can shoot the three, he has a great mid-range and finishes at the basket.


Kerri Cunnigham (2025) 6’6 forward - Cunningham is a workhorse. He can guard every position on the floor. He has great hands and finishes well at the basket. He is a great offensive rebounder. Cunningham has a good mid-range and can knock down the three if he is open. Cunningham plays tough defense and has a high motor on both ends. 3.7 gpa


Jayport Smith (2025) 5’10 combo guard - Smith is one of the best defenders around. He is a 94 ft defender that prides himself on defense. He does a great job in the passing lanes and is a great on ball defender. Smith is very crafty. He can get his own shot, and he plays well off the ball. He finishes at the basket in any condition, with both hands. Very tough to stay in front of. Smith is a hard worker that brings his all every night.  3.8 gpa


James Davis III (2026) 6’0 combo guard - Davis is a light out shooter. He has great range on his jump shot. He shoots the three at a high clip. Expect a breakout season for James. 3.7 gpa


Daveion Sandoval (2026) 5’9 point guard - Sandoval is a dog. Crafty around the basket. He finished through contact. He also has good range on his jump shot. Daveion creates well off the dribble. He can facilitate or get his own bucket. 3.2 gpa


Ernesto Gonzalez (2025) 6’5 small forward - Gonzalez is a bruiser. He is an excellent rebounder that enjoys starting the break. He is a great passer for his size. He is very crafty around the basket. He can finish with both hands. Ernesto is all dog. 3.0 gpa


Jemario Griffiths (2025) 6’5 small forward- Jemario gets better every time you see him. He works hard. Everyday. He lives in the gym. Jemario has a developing jump-shot. Still trying to find his way offensively. He gives his all defensively. He leaves everything on the floor. 3.8 gpa


Melisizwe Lark (2026) 6’1 guard- Lark is a hard nosed defender. He fights defensively every possession. He does all of the dirty work needed throughout the game. You can put him on top of the press or at the back of the press and he will still be effective. Lark has a developing offensive game. You will see his full potential as the season goes on.

Chris Eldredge (2025) 6’3, 180lb guard (McLean, VA) - An elite shooter with NBA+ 3 point range. As good of a shooter as there is at high school level. Can make them off the move and the bounce with a quick trigger. Handles it enough to play the point and really knows how to play. Father was standout player at Hofstra. Very strong academically.


Peter DaCruz (2025) 6’7, 190lb forward (Brooklyn, NY) - Lefty inside out player with great length (7’ 0 wing span).  Bouncy with excellent timing as a shot blocker. Very fluid athlete in running the floor. Effortless stroke out to 3 point line. Upside is through the roof. 4.0 gpa


Bryceson Dobie (2025) 6’1, 160lb point guard (Brooklyn, NY) - Dobie has great speed and craftiness with the ball. Pure point guard who is an excellent decision maker and great vision in ball screens.  Has terrific defensive instincts and gets hands on a ton of balls.  Averaged 25ppg as a senior in high school. Can score it at all 3 levels. His dad, Antwan was a star at LIU and had long career overseas.


Ben Manuel (2025) 6’5, 200lb (Rogers, AR) - A skilled multi-positional guard with size. Has the ability to break guys down off the dribble. Downhill driver who is at his best in open floor and transition. Very good 3 point shooter, who can make them off catch and the bounce. Projectes as a Low Major/high academic.


Christian Smiley (2025) 6’5, 180lb (Wyandanch, NY) - Athletic wing, who plays bigger than his size. Has elite motor, and terrific offensive rebounder. Capable shooter who can get it going from 3 point range and terrific from mid range. Named first team All-Long Island on an undefeated team.


Saif Al-Deen Saleh (2025) 6’9, 225lb (Clifton, NJ/Jordan) - Had 1000 pts / 1000 rebounds in high school. Currently playing for Jordan’s National Team. Can score on block and out to 3. Runs the floor very well and can handle it for his size. Had multiple D2 offers as high school senior.


Hadi Alshami (2025) 6’10, 210lb forward (New Zealand) - Great length and shot blocking ability. Fluid athlete who runs the floor like a gazelle. Good footwork around the rim. Drop off lob guy as a ball screen roll man. High upside.


Yassen Shaker (2025) 6’6, 210lb small forward (Cairo, Egypt) - A combo guard with great size. College ready body and work ethic. Can play multiple positions on and off the ball. Good speed getting downhill with good vision passing the ball. Improving 3-point shooter.


Basti Williams (2025) 6’4, 185lb guard (New York, NY) - A strong combo guard, who can score at all 3 levels. Shifty handle and can create his own shot in 1/2 court. Can play both guard spots but at his best as a scorer off the ball. High academic.

 

Brandon Beamon (2025) 6’6, 205lb, small forward (Waterbury, CT) - High motor athlete who attacks the rim. 7’1 wingspan and plays bigger than his size. Relentless on the offensive glass. High release on his stroke and can make them out to the 3-point line.


Nate Song (2025) 5’10, 183lb point guard (Albertson, NY) - A pit bull point guard who is strong and has great speed. Very good in pick-n-roll decision making. Can really defend the ball 94 feet. Elite charge taker. Makes winning plays on both sides of the ball. Projected as a high academic D3.  4.0 gpa 1410 SAT

 

Jackson Carey (2025) 6’3, 175lb guard (Huntington, NY) - A capable 3 point shooter with range. Very tough and competitive, makes every hustle play and dives for loose balls. Vocal with great basketball IQ. Comes from good basketball bloodlines. High academic.


Anthony Stennett (2025) 6’2, 175lb guard (Queens, NY) - Lefty downhill driver who stays in attack mode. Very good athlete who finishes above the rim. Relentless on the ball defender.


Alesi Mingo (2025) 6’2, 205lb guard (Ridgefield Park NJ) - A strong, physical guard who can absorb contact and finish. Shoots it out to 3 and can get to midrange. Tough on ball defender with great physicality.

#0 Alex Kuminga (2026) 6’8 wing - The younger brothers of Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, Alex brings his high level of potential and strong shooting and ball-handling to the team.

 

#1 Kaleb Popotte (2026) 6’1 guard - Popotte is an extremely quick guard with the ball, and he has an excellent handle and court vision. He is hard to stay in front of as he changes speed and direction really well. He gets into the lane and scores with his floaters. Plays AAU with Wiz Kids.


#2 Elijah Jenkins (2027) 6’2 guard - Jenkins has a smooth shooting touch from three-point range, and he excels at driving to the rim and finishing. His strong ball-handling allows him to create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.


#3 Malachi Miller (2029) 5’9 point guard - A very high potential reclassed 8th grader who will get to cut his varsity teeth playing with and against his very high level teammates. Miller is agile, elusive, quick, smart and fearless. The future bodes well for him. Plays AAU with Expressions Elite.

 

#4 Troy Fason Jr. (2027) 6’0 guard - Fason was a phenomenal two sports athlete at St. Francis Prep (football) before transferring to LWA. For basketball, he is one of the top guards in the City. He is physically strong, can finish with contact, understands how to run a team. He is not afraid of the moment. Receiving D1 interest.


#5 Florbert Kuminga (2029) 6’6 swing - Flory is also the younger brother of Golden State Warriors forward Johnathan Kuminga, he has similar upside at the same stage. A versatile wing at 6-foot-6 with a smooth jumper and advanced ball handling skills for his age. He was best prospects in the class of 2028, but reclassed to 2029 at LWA.


#10 Caleb Ourigou (2026) 6’11 forward - Ourigou is trending toward becoming a High Major big. He already holds an offer from St John’s. He is big, strong and agile and very strong. He can score in the paint, including an unguardable hook shot. Defensively, he is a great presence on the interior. He blocks and intimidates shots near the rim, and he sucks in rebounds from a wide area. Plays AAU with Rising Stars.


#11 Anderson “Shifty” Diaz (2027) 6’1 point guard - Diaz is a rising star, gaining increasing national recognition and High Major interest for his impressive performances. As a crafty lefty, he utilizes his unique skill set to outmaneuver defenders and create scoring opportunities. His smooth scoring ability allows him to excel both inside and beyond the arc. Has received multiple D1 offers, including Villanova, Seton Hall, Fordham and Cincinnati. Plays AAU with Kips Bay Athletics.

#14 Dior Legore (2026) 6’2 shooting guard - Legore has plenty of moves on the floor and is also known for shooting from long range. He is able to drive into the lane efficiently and is a good finisher. As part of that, he is also good at getting to the free-throw line. Defensively, he is great at sticking with his man and is able to block shots.

 

#15 Lis Binishi (2027) 6’1 guard - Binishi is a 16-year old from Kosovan. He was voted to the First Team at the FIBA 16u EuroBasket Division C playing for the Kosovan 16u National Team. He spent last winter playing for The Patrick School (NJ).


#21 Julian Desir (2026) 6’6 wing - With his ability to get off the floor quickly and proficiency around the rim. Desir is a high-end open-floor finisher. He’s developed ambidextrous finishing around the rim and a has a dependable mid-range jumper. He’s able to make authoritative blocks around the rim, an aspect of his game that was noteworthy last season. Plays AAU with New York Gauchos

 

#22 Dylan Cudjoe (2026) 6’7 forward - Cudjoe is a super athletic rim protector that thrives at blocking shots and put-back dunks. He is a lob threat and is also a capable jump shooter with now improved mechanics. He plays to his strengths as a two way player and is scratching the surface with his potential. He can handle the ball well enough to start the break and advance the ball. He can also play out the post and iso in given situations.  He won a Nassau County championship at Baldwin High last winter season.  Plays AAU with Level Up LI. 3.2 gpa

Aaron Mitchell (2025) 6’6 forward - Mitchell is an excellent rebounder and rim protector. He is quick off of his feet and has great timing for shot blocking. He is physically tough in the post, but he needs to improve his offensive skills and hands. Good gpa


Josh Thompson (2025) 6’4 small forward. Thompson is a three year starter. He is aggressive to the rim, and his shooting has improved. He is a solid on-ball defender. Very athletic on both ends. Thompson shows signs of being a good rebounder; but could do much more on both ends of the glass.


Tarren Wilkins (2025) 6’4 small forward. Wilkins plays on perimeter, as well as in the post. His offensive skills are average, but he has an ability to make the right play. He has a high IQ on the floor and in the classroom. Strong gpa


Drew Diaz (2026) 6’1 guard - Diaz is a very good spot up shooter, who makes 3s.  His ball handling has improved as well as his floor game. He continues to work hard on his defense and staying in front of his man. He is excellent from the charity stripe, and he rebounds it well on both ends. Good gpa


Supreme Hinton (2028) 6’2 guard - Hinton is outstanding in getting to the rim. He is very strong. He is a good ball handler, but careless at times. Hinton is good in space, but he needs to work on his shooting. He is an aggressive and physical defender who can also really rebound it.


Shane Lopez (2028) 5’10 point guard. Lopez has already established himself as clearly one of the best frosh in the city. He is a true PG. He can go by defenders, gets in lane, looks for shooters and makes pullups. Defensively, he guards the ball and is very smart off of it. He has a knack for deflections and steals. He continues to improve his shooting. He needs to get stronger, which will happen because he loves the weight room. Good gpa

 

Peter Pizarro (2028) 5’8 point guard - Pizarro is a speedy, hard-nosed guard,very fast in open floor. He is a tenacious defender.  He can make an open shot and is continuing to work on his floor game. Good gpa


Matthew Santiago (2028) 5’11 guard. Santiago makes his open shots. He is a terrific athlete which makes him a solid on ball defender. He has very good vision on the floor, but needs to learn to play without ball. .

 

 

Redemption Christian Academy (NY)
Head coach: Malani Massey


Gedeon Basson (2026) 6’3 guard - Explosive, extremely athletic scoring guard, who gets to the rim at will and can knock down mid-range, and 3s with ease. He uses his quick lateral footwork and high energy to be a lockdown defender.  High gpa


Kayontay Perdue (2025) 5’10 point guard - Perdue has the ability to handle the ball under pressure, knock down the 3, easily get into the lane, and has very good court vision.


Ibrahim Toure (2025) 6’8 forward - Toure uses his quickness to be a menace on defense. He can guard any position and challenges shots. He has good hands and is developing a soft touch around the basket on the offensive end.


Terence Thompson (2025) 6’8 forward - Thompson has deceptive athleticism, which allows him to finish around the rim and guard all 5 positions. He rounds and protects the rim. He can step out and consistently knock down 3s.


Clarence Thompson (2025) 6’3 guard - Thompson is an athletic shooting guard, who plays tough open court defense and has the ability to knock down the open 3.


Yeison Liberato (2025) 6’4 guard - Liberato is an old school point guard with a pass first mentality and a very high IQ.  He is also a monster defender, who, averaged 5 steals per game last season.

Marko Karalic (2025) 6’6 guard


Imahri Wooten (2026) 6’5 guard - Wooten is an explosive and athletic guard, who’s known for his shooting, but can attack the rim off the dribble and dominate smaller defenders in the post. He’s also developing into a playmaker and a rebounding guard.


Jalen Johnson (2025) 5’10 point guard - Johnson is a full-court, in your face, shut-down defender. He guards and neutralizes the opposing team’s leading scorer and can knock down the open shot.  3.8 gpa

Rushawn Greene (2025) 5’10 point guard - Greene was the leading scorer in the Bronx PSAL 4A last season, averaging 19.3 points per game. He’s expected to be even better this year and will likely be one of the top players in the city. With a 3.7 gpa, he’s also a leader in the classroom. Low D1 and high D2 schools should be paying close attention.

 

Mohamed Bah (2025) 6’2 guard - Bah is the heart of the team with his relentless attack mindset and tough defense. He averaged 12 points per game on last year’s varsity team and brings valuable veteran presence to both the locker room and the court. Bah’s intensity on both ends of the floor sets the tone for the team, making him a key player this season. He’s the kind of player who leads by example, pushing his teammates to match his energy and effort every day.


Emmanuel “Manny” Nieves (2026) 5’10 point guard - Nieves is the team’s best distributor, known for his high basketball IQ. Last season, he led the JV team to the city title game, scoring 30 points in the final. He also led the PSAL in assists, averaging over 10 per game. Unselfish and a true team player, he’s set to be one of the best juniors in the PSAL. His court vision and ability to make the right play at the right time make him the engine that drives the team’s offense.


Deshawn Carnegie Jr. (2027) 6’0 guard - Carnegie is a big, stocky guard with a Khalid El-Amin-like frame and unlimited shooting range. Last season on JV, he had multiple games with 10+ threes and even a 40-point game. He’s already making a name for himself in summer tournaments, and there’s much more to come. His combination of size, strength, and shooting ability makes him a unique threat on the court, capable of taking over games at any moment.


Fabian Jimbo (2026)  6’5 forward - Jimbo is a player who will surprise many this season. He’s a versatile forward who can score, rebound, and pass, making him a key piece for us this year. He is a force in the paint, capable of bullying any big man he faces, but he also has the skill to step out and make plays from the perimeter. His ability to impact the game in multiple ways makes him a matchup problem for opponents.


Craig Yancey (2027) 6’0 guard - Yancey, a transfer from Eagle Academy Harlem, is one of the toughest players in the Bronx despite being the youngest on the team. He plays AAU with Castle Athletics 15u and is relentless on defense while also being a reliable shooter. His fearlessness and energy make him a player to watch as he quickly adapts to varsity competition. His maturity on the court and willingness to take on any challenge will make him a key contributor, even as an underclassman.


Kamrin Kendall (2025) 6’5 forward - Kendall,  a transfer from Truman High School, averaged nearly a double-double last season. He’s very athletic with a close to 40-inch vertical, and his potential is sky-high. With his combination of size and athleticism, Kendall is expected to be a dominant force on both ends of the floor. His ability to finish above the rim and protect the paint will be crucial for us this season.


Jhoan Adames (2025) 6’6 small forward - Adames is a transfer from Dewitt Clinton High School. He can stretch the floor with his mid-range game and is built like a grown man. Expect him to average close to a double-double this season. His physical presence and ability to score inside and out make him a matchup nightmare for opponents. Adames’ combination of strength, skill, and experience will be a significant asset for Wings.
