2018 addias Gauntlet Finals - Top Performers

This past weekend, RecruitTheBronx.com made their way to the Lower East Side of Manhattan to check out the Adidas Gauntlet Finale at Basketball City. The teams that played there were all in the Gold division, the elite division on the Adidas circuit. In front of a horde of Division I college coaches from around the nation, players showcased their talents and proved that they were worthy of a scholarship. Here were the tournament’s standouts from the Northeast.

 

Andre Curbelo 6-1, Point Guard High School: Long Island Lutheran High School (NY) AAU Team: NY Jayhawks 16U, Class of 2020 -A guard that can penetrate & go to the hole. Needs to be a better finisher. Needs to cut down on turnovers. Shows ability to be a facilitator.

 

Zed Key 6-8, Forward High School: Long Island Lutheran High School (NY) AAU Team: NY Jayhawks 16U, Class of 2020 - A very mobile big man that attacks the paint. Hustles for rebounds. Would love to see him step out and shoot more.

 

Christian Ings 6-2, Point Guard High School: Neumann-Goretti High School (PA) AAU Team: K-Low Elite 17U, Class of 2019 -  player that has quick feet on defense. Has a lot of explosion. Has the ability to shoot from long range.

 

Akok Akok 6-9, Forward High School: Putnam Science Academy (CT) AAU Team: Mass Rivals 17U, Class of 2019 - A player with a lot of explosion on both ends of the court. Good shot blocker. Needs more of a jumper. Good size for a swing man.

 

Dahmir Bishop 6-5, Shooting Guard High School: Imhotep Charter High School (PA) AAU Team: K-Low Elite 17U, Class of 2019 - A player with a long wingspan. Needs more of a consistent jumper. Good at driving to the hole.

 

Mark Bradshaw 6-1, Point Guard High School:  Glasglow High School (DE) AAU Team: K-Low Elite 17U, Class of 2019 - Lightning-quick on both ends of the court. Goes to the basket a lot. Needs to be a more consistent finisher.

 

Seth Pinkney 7-0, Center High School:  Archbishop Wood High School (PA) AAU Team: K-Low Elite, Class of 2018 - A player with great size. Good at either altering or blocking shots. Needs more strength. Has ability to play above the rim.

 

Wildens Leveque 6-10, Forward High School:  Gould Academy (ME) AAU Team: Mass Rivals 17U, Class of 2019 - A player that is very muscular. Great at getting rebounds. A great passer.

 

Chris Ledlum 6-7, Forward, St. Peter’s High School (NY) AAU Team: NY Jayhawks 17U, Class of 2019 - A player that has a lot of good physical ability. Makes strong drives to the basket.


Charles Pride 6-4, Shooting Guard High School: Putnam Science Academy (CT) AAU Team: NY Jayhawks 17U, Class of 2019 - Great defensive player. Lightning-quick on offense.

 

Gary Grant 6-6, Forward High School: St. Raymond High School (NY) AAU Team: NY Jayhawks 17U, Class of 2020 - A player with a long wingspan. Good at penetrating in the lane. Needs to be a better finisher.

 

Marty Silvera 6-0, Point Guard High School: Putnam Science Academy (CT), Point Guard AAU Team: Mass Rivals 17U, Class of 2019 - A speedy guard that can push the ball up the court. Has a knack for getting to the free-throw line. Is a good facilitator. Needs to shoot more.

 

Christian Ray 6-6, Shooting Guard High School: Haverford School (PA) AAU Team: K-Low Elite 17U, Class of 2019 - A player that has toughness. Drives to the basket a lot. Gets rebounds.

 

Demarr Langford 6-4, Shooting Guard High School:  Putnam Science Academy (CT) AAU Team: Mass Rivals 17U, Class of 2020 - A player that gets a lot of rebounds. Great at driving to the hole. Has ability to shoot from long range. Shows a lot of athleticism.

 

Taelon Martin 6-4, Point Guard High School: The Masters School (CT) AAU Team: Mass Rivals 17U, Class of 2020 - A player that has versatile skills. Needs more work on jumpshot. Shows a lot of explosion.

 

Zion Styles 6-3, Shooting Guard High School: Uniondale High School (NY) AAU Team: NY Jayhawks 17U, Class of 2019 - A guard that is a ferocious defender. Has some explosion in his game. Needs to develop more of a jumper.
