2022 NY vs. NY Week 3
On Tuesday, July 12, RecruitTheBronx.com was on hand at Achievement First High School in Crown Heights, Brooklyn for Week 3 of NY vs. NY. On this date, there were two big games, with the first being a Bronx-Manhattan matchup between Watson and Dyckman and a Brooklyn-Queens matchup between the two-time defending champions and host, Gersh Park and Lincoln Park. Here are the standouts from Week 3:
Youssouf Singare 7-0, Forward, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Watson, Class of 2023 - A force around the rim, he is a player that can be a big plus for his team every time he is on the court. Has the ability to be dominant in the post area, as he clogs up the middle with his size and his ability to box out for rebounds. Despite his ability to score, he can also pass the ball as well.
Jahmere Tripp 6-5, Forward, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Watson, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to be very versatile on the floor. Uses his strength and hard-nosed play to absorb contact and get to the free throw line. Is able to drive to the basket and can finish with strength. Is a solid rebounder, especially when in the low post.
Jonathan Noudjihimi 6-9, Forward, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Watson, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to display his athleticism when on the floor. Has the ability to give his team plenty of energy when on the floor. Is able to be a force in the low post when it comes to his ability to rebound. Is able to finish efficiently when at the rim.
Seydou Traore 6-5, Forward, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Watson, Class of 2023 - A forward with plenty of size and skill. Is able to step out and shoot outside the basket and has a nice shooting touch. Is able to absorb contact and draw fouls in the low post area to get to the free throw line. Is a player that brings plenty of energy to his squad.
Christian Jones 6-4, Shooting Guard, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Watson, Class of 2023 - A guard that can fill up the stat sheet with efficiency. Is able to drive to the basket off the dribble and is able to get to the basket easily. Is not afraid to get in the post and collect rebounds. Has a nice shooting stroke from long range and can destroy the opposition if not guarded heavily.
RJ Greene 6-5, Forward, Southern California Academy (CA), Dyckman, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to be a spark plug for his team during key moments on the floor. Is a player that likes to drive to the basket and loves to run on the break. Will go up for rebounds when they are needed.
Jakai Sanders 6-3, Point Guard, Bishop Loughlin High School, Dyckman, Class of 2024 - A guard with a nice shooting stroke from three-point range and a player with good court vision. Is able to play off the ball, as he is able to get steals and will go into the paint to grab rebounds. Is able to give his teammates the opportunity to score.
Kenny Satterfield Jr., 6-2, Point Guard, The Patrick School (NJ), Lincoln Park, Class of 2023 - A guard that is able to help his team on the floor and knows when to slow a game down or speed up the tempo for his team. Is able to play strong defense on the opposition, as he is able to get steals, which can turn into an offensive possession at the other end. Even when he is not scoring, he will definitely try to get to the free throw line.
Benjamin Lyttle 6-5, Forward, Archbishop Stepinac High School, Lincoln Park, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to make an impact for his team in every category. When he has the opportunity to shoot from three-point range, he will take a shot. Is able to put the ball on the floor, and will drive to the basket with strength and is a solid finisher.
Chike Ndefo 6-6, Forward, Vermont Academy (VT), Lincoln Park, Class of 2024 - A forward that is always ready to make his presence felt on the floor for his team. Even when he is not scoring, he will find other ways to help out, which also includes rebounding. Is also a good passer and is always alert on the defensive end.
Ty-Laur Johnson 6-0, Point Guard, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Gersh Park, Class of 2023 - A guard that is able to master control of every game that he is in on the court. Has the opportunity to score in many ways, including driving to the basket and finishing and also getting his shot off from wherever he may be on the court. Has a good penchant for playing on-the-ball defense, which includes him getting steals.
Kyrone Alexander 6-5, Forward, South Shore High School, Gersh Park, Class of 2023 - A forward with a good frame and great upper-body strength, he is able to absorb contact and can finish strongly at the basket. Is able to step out to and shoot from long range and has a nice shooting stroke. Is able to step in the post area and collect rebounds.
Eric Acker 6-1, Shooting Guard, Eagle Academy II, Gersh Park, Class of 2023 - A guard that can make an impact in many ways on the floor. Is able to drive to the hole and finish efficiently and is able to get to the free-throw line easily. His toughness allows him to get to the boards and grab rebounds, which then leads to him running on the break and kicking it out to a teammate, which could lead to a basket.
