2023 Staten Island High School League Championship Game

On February 17, we made it over to the Michael J. Petrides School campus in Staten Island for the championship game of the Staten Island High School League. The game featured two teams in the CHSAA in St. Peter’s Boys High School (AA division) and St. Joseph’s by the Sea High School (A division). Here are the standouts of the game:

Qadir Martin 6-6, Forward, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that has the ability to be a force in the low post for his team and is able to get up and down the court easily. Is able to drive to the basket and can attack the glass for rebounds. Has good hands and can block shots in the paint area and establish his presence with his long wingspan.

Michael Spisto 5-9, Point Guard, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has plenty of quickness and the ability to give plenty of effort every time he steps out on the floor. Is able to obtain steals when on the defensive end and is able to speed to the other end of the court and can dish it out to his teammates when going to other end of the court. Is able to go up strong to the other end of the court when driving to the basket.

Steven Bradley 6-3, Shooting Guard, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is an asset to his team every time he’s on the floor. Is able to find ways to get open and can get free to get his shot off from three-point range. Is very active on the boards and can dish the ball to his teammates in order for them to have opportunities to score.

Alex Chi 6-2, Shooting Guard, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has great court vision when on the floor and is able to move around off the ball. Is able to hustle and get loose balls and when he is not getting his shot off, is able to find ways for his teammates to score when on the floor. Has a nice shooting touch from three-point range and will always get his shot off when he has the opportunity.

Jalen Munson 5-11, Point Guard, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that is very shifty an finds ways to make an impact on the game when on the floor. Is able to stick with his man on the defensive end and obtain steals. Is able to drive to the basket and is a great finisher when going up to the layup.

Anthony Graziano 6-6, Forward, St. Joseph’s by the Sea High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to make his presence felt with his strength and is able to rip down rebounds at a fast rate. Is able to absorb contact and is able to get to the free-throw line after drawing fouls. Is able to hold his own and uses his strength to muscle his way to the basket.

Christian Greeley 6-3, Point Guard, St. Joseph’s by the Sea High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to take over a game with his playmaking ability on the court. Has excellent court vision and is able to find multiple ways to score. Has the ability to get his shot off efficiently, especially when he’s open on three-point range. Is able to drive to the basket and has the ability to finish.

Laurent Kingue 6-5, Forward, St. Joseph’s by the Sea High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that has plenty of skills on the court and is able to hold his own in the post. Is very skilled and is very versatile on the court, as he looks to shoot from long range and can put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket. Is always active and is aways looking to attack the glass and get rebounds.

Jack Moran, 6-0, Guard, St. Joseph’s by the Sea High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is able to hustle and can always get to the ball at all times. Likes to drive to the basket and is able to stay active on the boards as he is obtain rebounds at all times. Is able to kick it out to his teammates in order to give them the opportunities to score.

Matt Rossi, 6-1, Shooting Guard, St. Joseph’s by the Sea High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to give his all when on the court. Has the ability to provide plenty of energy when on the court and has the ability to obtain steals when on the defensive end. Has the ability to find ways to facilitate to the basket and give his teammates the ball as a way to give them the position to score.
