New Haven Heat 16U National Team Roster
The New Haven Heat is a highly regarded developer of college-bound talent in the basketball rich Greater New Haven, CT region. Their ZGXL 16u National team is coached by Frank Green.

Julian Dent Jr. (2025) 6’5, 167lbs wing, Notre Dame West Haven High (CT) - Dent is one of the most intense competitors on the team. He’s a long athletic guard that can score in a variety of ways.he has a wingspan of a 6’8 player. He always wants to take on the challenge of defending the opponents best player. Dent continues to improve and is always wanting to learn.
He’s a leader on and off the court.
Christopher Van Tassel (2025) 6’4, 180lbs small forward, Wilbur Cross High (CT) - Van Tassel is one of the hardest working kids on the team, he pursues every rebound (defense andoffense). He has also developed a jump shot and has become comfortable putting the ball on the floor and attacking the basket this AAU season. His motor never stops and he’s always willing to learn and get better.
Dylan Sparks (2025) 6’0, 187lbs guard, Amity Regional High (CT) - Sparks is a pure shooter that can hit shots from anywhere on the floor. He made big shots when needed this summer. He has supreme confidence in his ability to make the correct play. Sparks being on the floor provides good spacing for the other players,because of his 3pt range. He also has a high IQ when it comes to making quick decisions. He makes teammates around him better, because of his unselfish play. He’s a super competitor and great leader.
Michael Singleton (2024) 6’0, 167lbs Wilbur Cross High (CT)
Brennan Holmes (2024) 5’6 140lbs, point guard, Branford High (CT) - Holmes is smart point guard with a high IQ, he has great ball handling skills and court awareness..He makes the game easier for his teammates with his pass first mentality..Holmes also runs the pick & roll with great precision, he makes the correct reads, whether it’s passing to the open man or taking the jump shot..he’s the maestro of the team..great leader and character.

Ethan Griffin (2025) 6’6, 180lbs West Haven High (CT) - Griffin is certainly a presence on the court. He has good hands to secure passes into the post and dunk the ball with two hands. He’s raw athletic and has the wing span of a 7 footer. Defensively, he’s obviously an imposing figure when it comes to blocking and changing shots at the rim. He also has the ability to rebound and get on the wing to finish plays on the break. High motor and high character.
