2023 Cap City Scrapers 17u Select Royal Player Profiles
The Cap City Scrappers AAU program is based out of Albany, NY. Their mission is to help players improve their individual and team basketball skills in a competitive environment, while helping them develop and get the exposure they need to continue playing at the collegiate level.
The Cap City Scrappers 17u Select Royal team is apart of the New Balance NXT PRO circuit and are off to a 8-0 start heading into the April live period. They are coached by the program Director Bob Shields and Lewis McCauley. Their players are profiled below:
Koa Butler (2023) 6’4 wing, Lasalle Institute - Lock up defender that plays above the rim and runs the floor with purpose. 4.0 gpa
Zach Matulu (2023) 6’5 wing, Shaker High - 3 Level scorer, tremendous leader and tenacious defender. 2.8 gpa
Arthur Foster (2024) 6’5 guard, Albany Academy - Playmaker that can score and defend at a high level. Ability to takeover games. 2.8 gpa
Cameron LaClair (2024) 6’5 guard, Bethlehem Central High - Difference maker on both ends of the floor! Knockdown shooter and 3 level scorer. 3.4 gpa
Davian King (2024) 6’6 forward, Union Endicott High - Physical lock down defender, rebounds well, makes the right plays offensively, soft touch and a great passer. 3.2 gpa
Kaelen Leak (2024) 5’11 point guard, Christian Brothers Academy - Scrappy guard that makes all the right plays and defends at a high level! Great vision and knockdown shooter. 3.9 gpa
Kemonte Thawe (2024) 6’2 point guard, Kingston High - 3 Level scorer with great IQ & awareness! Lock up defender & great passer. 2.8 gpa
Michael Olefemi (2025) 6’9 forward, Albany Academy - Strong big that rebounds and blocks a lot of shots. Great touch around the rim and shoots the mid range well. 3.9 gpa
Griffin Collins (2025) 6’4 shooting guard, Worcester Academy (MA) - Knockdown shooter, great defender and finishes well at the rim. 3.5 gpa
Drew Ronovech (2024) 6’4 shooting guard, Shaker High - Knockdown shooter that can also create and make plays for others. 4.0 gpa
Will Amden (2024) 6’5 forward, Burr & Burton Academy - Stretch big who can knock down open shots, sets solid screens and defends the paint. 4.0 gpa
