2023 Nike EYBL Session I Stand-outs

On the first D1 Live Period of the 2023 season, RecruitTheBronx.com followed some high talent players down to the Lake Point Sporting Complex in Emerson, Georgia for the Nike EYBL games. The league features four of our region’s premier programs in the PSA Cardinals, New Heights Lightning, New York Renaissance and the City Rocks (Albany)and New England’s Expressions Elite . Here are the standouts from the event:

 

Johnuel “Boogie” Fland 6-3, Point Guard, Archbishop Stepinac High School, PSA Cardinals, Class of 2024 - A guard who is able to take over games with his leadership and his scoring ability. Has the ability to drive to the basket efficiently and is able to go up with strength. Has a nice jumper and is always willing to pull up from the perimeter or from three-point range.

Jayden Reid 5-11, Point Guard, Long Island Lutheran High School, PSA Cardinals, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a penchant for making plenty of great plays when on the offensive end. Has the ability to stick with his man on the defensive end, as he aims to get steals so that he could get down to the other end of the floor. Is able to pull up for a jumper and hit a shot from long range.

Dylan Harper 6-6, Shooting Guard, Don Bosco Prep High School (NJ), New York Rens, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt in more than one way on the court. Is able to take on his defender and is able to get to the basket with ease. On the defensive end, he is able to block shots and create offensive opportunities for his teammates.

Qinfang Pang 6-10 Forward, Christ the King High School, New York Rens, Class of 2024 - A forward that has the ability to show off his skills and versatility at his height and frame. Has the ability to use his physicality to muscle his way around the basket and can get rebounds at all times and can block shots. Is able to get his shot off efficiently and is able to drive to the basket and showcase his athleticism at the rim.

 

Tahaad Pettiford 6-1, Shooting Guard, Hudson Catholic High School (NJ), New Heights Lightning, Class of 2024 - A guard that has plenty of creativity with the ball and has the ability to do great things on the court. Has great court vision and can set up his teammates for passes that can lead to baskets. Has the ability to showcase his athleticism and is able to get past the opposition with a quick first step.

Elliot Cadeau 6-1, Point Guard, Link Academy (MO), New Heights Lightning, Class of 2024 (University of North Carolina commit) - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt with his ability to be a floor general for his team. Has the ability to throw lob passes to his teammates as they are going up to the rim. Has the ability to drive to the basket and is fearless when going to the basket. Is able to go shoot from the perimeter.

Joson Sanon 6-6, Shooting Guard, Vermont Academy (VT), Expressions Elite, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to establish his presence on the court. Is always able to get open on the wing, as he able to get his shot off efficiently. Looks to drive to the basket once he is able to create for himself off the dribble and is fearless when going up for two.

AJ Dybantsa 6-7, Forward, St. Sebastian’s School (MA), Expressions Elite, Class of 2026 - A forward that is wise beyond his years, he is able to make noise for his team in various ways, when it comes to getting rebounds or blocking shots. Is a player that has excellent court vision and will find his teammates as they are streaking towards the basket or are open on other areas of the court. Is able to put the ball on the floor and can hit a jumper on the perimeter.

Adam Nije 6-2, Point Guard, Cardinal Hayes High School, Expressions Elite, Class of 2024 - A guard that provides plenty of energy when on the floor and is a huge asset on both ends of the floor. Is a great defender that has the ability to apply pressure on the opposition to give up the ball and can obtain steals at a fast rate. Is a great distributor to his teammates, as he creates opportunities for them to score with his passing ability.

Steven Solano 6-11, Forward, Cardinal Hayes High School, Expressions Elite, Class of 2024 - A forward that has a penchant for holding down the paint area and can make his presence felt with his large frame. Has good hands and is great at blocking shots when the opposition tries to drive up to score. Is able to grab put-backs and finish at the basket with ease.

Kayvaun Mulready 6-4, Shooting Guard, Worcester Academy (MA), Albany City Rocks, Class of 2024 -A guard that is able to take control of a game every time he steps on the floor. Is able to shoot from the top of the key and from three-point range. Is fearless when it comes to scoring opportunities, as he has a lot of confidence in his game. Has the ability to stick with his man on the defensive end, as he is known to get steals.
