The Athletic Club of Connecticut was founded in 2018 by Donnell Harvey.  Player development, coaching, and competition are the building blocks to the program. AC Connecticut Basketball emphasizes the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and education. The program is driven by what is best for the child: whether in a game, practice, classroom or life.

2024 Athletic Club of Connecticut 17u team is coached by Sean Florenz and Donnell Harvey, and their roster is as follows:

#1 Rob Mineo (2025) 6’4 Oxford High (CT) - Mineo has been someone AAC can count on game in and game out. He always brings energy, runs the floor every possession, super athletic, and great finisher around the rim.

#2 Armani Checo (2025) 5’11 point guard, New Fairfield high (CT) - Checo has the ability to score from all 3 levels, combined with his court vision to set up his teammates make him a dangerous guard. Checo transferred from Abbott Tech to New Milford High this season and immediately made an impact averaging 23ppg and 4 assists. He’s been playing with great pace, keeps the offense flowing and picks his spots to make plays for himself and for others. Armani is coachable and loved by his teammates.

#4 Danny Ciriello (2025) 6’2 guard, Brookfield High (CT) - Ciriello is a great scorer, an elite shooter from the outside, but also can put the ball on the floor and finish through traffic. He can make smaller defenders pay with his size and strength while being able to get right past taller defenders.

#10 Enzo Marin (2024) 6’0 guard, Bethel High (CT) - Marin is an aggressive guard who can get to the hoop, shoot it from 3 and is an excellent on-ball defender. He also rebounds the ball extremely well for a guard and is a tough matchup for any defense.

#10 Khalil Tolliver-Van Wright (2025) 6’4 small forward, Danbury High (CT) - Tolliver is a skilled wing who really thrives driving downhill. Finishes through contact, has great footwork on his finishes and can knock down the outside shot. Tolliver can also lead the break in transition and runs the floor really well.

#13 Daniel Nason (2025) 6’7 forward,  New Fairfield High (CT) - Nason has been very dominant this spring, the best player on the floor for both teams. His high basketball IQ combined with his skill set and motor make him rare. He is a strong finisher around the rim, getting more comfortable with his outside shot and is a force on the defensive end. 3.3 gpa

#21 Peter Szpakowski (2025) 6’7 forward, Ridgefield High (CT) - Szpakowski is a skilled back-to-the-basket post player with great footwork, ability to finish in traffic, and is a really good defender. He is getting more confident with his outside shot and ability to drive to the hoop.

#24 Alex Hickey (2025) 6’0 guard, Ridgefield High (CT) - Hickey is a gamer. He can flat out shoot it, and will guard the other team’s best player. He is getting more confident on his drives. Most importantly, he is a WINNER and a team-first guy.

#30 Reed McMurray (2025) 5’10 point guard, Ridgefield High (CT) - McMurray has impressed the coaching staff to start the spring. A confident and smart guard who can really shoot it from 3. He is an excellent defender and is always someone you can count on to be in the right spot on both ends of the floor.

#35 Nick Sganga (2024) 6’7 forward, Ridgefield High (CT) - Sganga is a force around the rim. He can defend in pick-n-rolls as well as protect the rim. At 225 lbs, he has an ability to seal and finish around the rim. He can shoot off of the pick-n-pop. This past winter, he averaged 14 & 9 on one of the best teams in the CIAC.
