2025 NY Basketball Academy 17u Player Profiles

New York Basketball Academy are a grass roots program based out of Westchester/Putnam County, with players being from Dutchess County, all the way to the Connecticut state line. Their players are being recruited by multiple D3 schools. The program is owned and the teams are coached by a winner and a strong culture builder, Coach James Loughran. Loughran is also the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Somers High School in Westchester County, NY. Their goal is to help create an atmosphere of growth, competitiveness, accountability, and structure for all of their student-athletes.
The 2025 17u players are as follows:
Luke Boznik (2026) 6’2 guard, Haldane High - Boznik is a lengthier guard, who can block and deter shots. He has an impressive ability to get to the basket with his explosiveness. He has the confidence and ability to stretch behind the 3 pt line and hit big time shots. He makes smart plays, and rarely will you find this kid forcing things. He is a high IQ player that is coachable and plays his role exceptionally well.
Jake Sheehy (2026) 6’4 small forward, Horace Greeley High - Sheehy has the ability to get to the basket with his explosiveness. He gets to his midrange pull-up shot often and uses his length over defender in a highly effective way. He deters shots on the defensive end. He is a strong 2 handed rebounder. Sheehy is extremely coachable, a great leader and a culture builder. He is fielding interest from high academic D3 schools, and some D2 coaches. 3.9 gpa 1500 SAT
Nico Quinones (2026) 5’10 point guard, Somers High - Quinones is a true PG, finding open teammates, getting into gaps, drawing defenders and making the right decisions. He is excellent at drawing contact and then finishing through it. He has a good mid-range game off the dribble. Quinones is a true vocal leader and has a winner’s mentality.

Julian Rosa (2026) 6’0 guard, Somers High - Rosa has showcased his athleticism on both ends grabbing strong offensive and defensive rebounds. He is incredibly active in gaps, getting deflections and steals. He has an explosive first step, allowing himself to quickly get into his pull up. He is good at finding teammates in scoring positions. He is becoming a great vocal leader during timeouts and on the floor.
Franklin Ringel (2026) 6’6 small forward, Yorktown High - Ringel is drawing a lot of college scouts to the NYBA games. His length and size allowed his team to hold opponents to 1 possession. His ability to get huge offensive rebounds and block shots is impactful. He is an impressive 2 handed rebounder. His impressive ability to hard hedge and communicate eliminates opponents’ ability to run ball-screen offense. Ringel can finish around the rim. Ringel is a culture builder.
Ryder Griffin (2026) 5’10 point guard, Haldane High - Griffin has been a key to NYBA’s success this spring. He hits huge shots in tight moments, including big 3s. He confidently steps up in big moments. He uses his strength to grab big rebounds. He is a box-out clinician.
Vicent Flynn (2026) 5’10 point guard, Croton High - Flynn is a truly special individual and player. He shines through with his ability to pass the ball, making some unreal full court passes to teammates sprinting the floor. He also has an ability to get into gaps, make change directions and elevate effectively into his shot. He taps into his strong confidence to relocate off teammates’ drives and set his feet into his 3 point shot. He is a great on and off-of-the-ball defender. He is active in the gaps and on his help defense.
