April 2nd, 2021- 75 Players from CT, NY and MA got together under one roof at Newtown Youth Academy in Newtown, CT for the Elite 50 Showcase.

Chandler Dicks- Strong, athletic guard with the ability to get to the rim or pull up for the mid-range jumper. Has very good court IQ. Tenacious defender that causes problem for opposing team.

Austin Black (2023) - Lefty who can step out and shoot. Able to dunk in traffic. Father is 6’9 will continue to grow. Has a lot of potential.

Luke Penna (2023) Southington High (CT)  - A knockdown shooter who runs the land well and shows the ability to read screens. Expanding his game every time we see him. Starting to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket.

Walt Andrews (2023) 6’4 guard, Rocky Hill Day School (RI) - strong guard that knows how to get to his spots on the court. He can score from all 3 levels. Very explosive off the dribble and at the rim.

Josh Violette (2023) 5’109 guard, Guilford High (CT) - Spot up shooter who showed he can put the ball on the floor and create space for his own shot.

Mason Wright - Active player who reads the rim well for rebounds. Finishes around the basket, able to catch and finish in traffic. Steps out and shoots the top of the key 3. Looks like he is still growing into his body.

Cedrick Similien (2023) - Similien looks to attack in transition and in the half court. He’s very efficient around the basket and finishes through contact. Would love to see him take more shots from the perimeter and add a 15ft shot to his game.

Aidan May (2023) 6’0 guard, Fairfield Prep (CT) - Lefty guard with a nice with a nice stroke from 3. Made some nice moves to the basket and plays with a lot of confidence.

Angel Aviles (2024) 5’5 guard, Derby High (CT) - An undersized guard who is quick and tough as nails on both ends of the floor. A pest on the defensive end and always in attack mood on offense. Had a ton of great finishes around the basket.

Calvin Monte (2023) and Caden Monte (2023) - The Old Lyme High twins seem to have grown and look about 6’6. Both with good motors and run the floor extremely well. The Monte twins finish around the rim well, make the right pass from the post and can knock down a shot from 15 ft out.

Sir William Morman (2024) 6’2 guard, Middleton High (NY)- Big lefty guard with long arms and tons of upside. Sir was getting to the basket, finishing around the hoop and making shots from the outside.

Jalen Claude (2023) 6’0 guard, Hillhouse High (CT) - Claude was not shy when it came to shooting the basketball this evening. He was aggressive from start to finish and that made him hard to guard. Hitting shots from 3, mid-range pull-ups and attacking the basket all evening was something Claude did on repeat.

Dar Jankovic - Dar is a fundamentally sound guard/forward who knows the game and understands how to move without the basketball.

Peyton Mullins - Small guard who competes on both ends of the floor. knockdown shooter doesn’t let his size fool you this kid is a baller. Finishes in traffic as well.

Riley Fox (2024) 6’4 wing, Conard High (CT) - Long and athletic forward who understands how to play the game, finishes around the rim and does all the little things.

Brandon Cary-Green (2023) Trumbull High (CT) - A long wing who can handle the ball and loves to get to his 15ft shot which he hits at a consistent rate. Would love to see Cary-Green attack the basket more and use his length to his advantage.

Isaiah Q. Jackson- Jackson rebounded the basketball at a high level and used his big frame to create second chance opportunities for himself around the rim.

Hasan Powell- small/quick PG that gets people involved with his shifty ball handling. His ability to change pace with the basketball stands out the most. He is a great defender for his size and a nag on defense. Powell held his own playing in a higher age group.

Mason Cottrell 6’1 guard, East Catholic High (CT) - A guard who plays with a burst of energy. Cottrell likes to get easy scoring opportunities in transition. Has a decent shot from 3 and always same to make the right play in the half court for his teammates.

Jordan Pierce (2025) 5’9 point guard, Stratford High - A guard who thrives in transition and getting to the basket. Pierce was finishing through contact at the basket and understood how to use his body to get to certain areas on the floor. He has a great mid-range game and a decent shot from 3. Was able to hold his own playing in a higher age group.
