NHAA Spring Madness Top Performers 5/1/2021

On Saturday afternoon, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to Thomas Jefferson Park in East Harlem, for the NHAA Spring Madness. The event was organized by Will Kelly, who is also the Director of the Hoops By The River tournament.


Some of the Tri-State area’s finest players, came to participate outdoors on the asphalt in a single-elimination tournament, which will conclude on Sunday, May 9th. Here are the standouts from Saturday’s action:


Aaron Parker 6-5, Forward, Seward Park High School, Class of 2021 - A forward that has plenty of hustle in his game and knows when to be alert on the defensive end. Has good hands when it comes to blocking shots and getting rebounds. A player that has plenty of toughness in his game.

 

Emilio Nabli 6-0, Shooting Guard, Seward Park High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has good court vision and is aware every time on the defensive end. Has great hands that allow for him to get steals, which can then turn into offensive baskets. Will hustle and dive for loose balls.


Charlie Sweat 5-11, Point Guard, Seward Park High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that can make plenty of plays when on the court. Knows when to speed up the tempo for his team on the floor. Has great leadership skills on the floor, as he will see to it that his teammates will prosper on the court.


Darwin Darvilus, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Spring Valley High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has good shotmaking abilities from the perimeter. A player that loves to run up and down the court and is known for getting his shot off in an efficient manner.


George Patsolos, 6-7, Forward, Newburgh Free Academy, Class of 2021 - A forward that has great hands and plenty of toughness on the court. Uses his long wingspan to corral rebounds and can play above the rim. Has a great penchant for passing the ball and stepping out to shoot.


Justin Demaria, 6-3, Shooting Guard, Newburgh Free Academy, Class of 2021 - A guard that has plenty of hustle and can get the ball with ease. Finds many ways to score, especially with jumpers. Is a player that runs the floor well and is able to dish off the ball to his teammates with ease.


Nashaun Johnson, 5-8, Point Guard, Newburgh Free Academy, Class of 2021 - A guard that has a lot of finesse and style in his game. Has good hands and a lot of speed that allow him to get across the floor at all times. Is prone to getting plenty of steals.


Quincy Owens, 6-4, Forward, Newburgh Free Academy, Class of 2021 -A forward that is strong and active on the boards and can establish his presence easily in the low post. Is able to attack the glass and use his strength to box out his opponents and obtain rebounds with ease.


Eddy Michel, 6-4, Forward, Samuel Gompers High School, Class of 2021 - A forward that is strong and intimidating when he is in the low post. Is great at corralling rebounds when he is in the post and is able to clear the paint area when the opposition comes to drive in for a basket. Is able to establish a presence in the post with his long arms.


Lindale Hamm, 5-6, Point Guard, Samuel Gompers High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that makes great moves and is prone to bringing the ball up and hitting his teammates for passes. Has some speed and uses it to his advantage. Is always able to get to the basket and score.


Miguel Santos, 5-10, Shooting Guard, Samuel Gompers High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that brings a lot of effort and energy to the floor. Has the ability to get loose balls and steals in an efficient manner. Is able to play tough defense when he’s on the court.


Zaiden Pèrez, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Lehman High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has great hands and can see where the ball is moving at all times. Has a good shot from the perimeter and is able to space out and get open.


Angel Arce, 5-9, Point Guard, Lehman High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has a penchant for passing the ball, but also driving to the basket. Knows when to get past defenders and go straight to the basket. Is always able to challenge the opponent into getting after I’m when he has the ball in his hands.


Fitzgerald Cuthbert, 6-1, Forward, Lehman High School, Class of 2021 - A forward that is undersized, but knows how to hold his own in the paint area. Is able to seal the paint area, as he is able to get rebounds with ease. Is able to muscle his way into the paint in order to score.

 

Brandon Martinez 5-9, Point Guard, Lehman High School, Class of 2021 - A guard with plenty of speed and IQ on the floor. Loves to drive to the basket and can absorb physical contact when driving to the hole. Has the ability to set teammates up with baskets. Has excellent court vision when he is on the floor.


Tyler Rivera, 5-7, Point Guard, Cathedral High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is athletic and is always alert when it comes to getting steals. Has good court vision and knows when & where to give his teammates the ball. Finds ways to get to the basket with ease.


Adrian Rivera, 5-8, Shooting Guard, Cathedral High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has a plays bigger than his diminutive frame. Uses his dribble to get past defenders and is able to glide his way to the basket. Knows how and when to get his teammates the ball and is not afraid to shoot from long range.


Jayshane Woodard 6-7, Forward, Wings Academy, Class of 2021 - A forward that is long and agile and has the ability to handle the ball on the perimeter to create for himself. Is able to use his large frame to post up on smaller defenders and uses his finesse to get to the basket. Has the ability to shoot from long distance.


Javin Trail, 5-7, Fannie Lou Hamer, 2021 - A guard that is quick and deceptive when he gets to the hole. Is great at penetrating to the basket and had a great dribble-drive motion. Has good hands that can aid in him getting steals and running in transition. Has the ability to give his teammates the ball in the best positions.
