2021 CHSAA Team Camp Top Performers

On June 26 and 27, RecruitTheBronx.com caught the last two days of the CHSAA (Catholic High Schools Athletic Association) Team Camp as it was being held at Iona Prep in New Rochelle, NY. These past two weekends are the NCAAs’ Scholastic D1 Live Period window. In a LIve Period, the D1 college coaches are allowed to see prospects play in person. Due to Covid 19, these June events were the first un-cancelled Live Periods since July, 2019. The CHSAA event drew college coaches from various levels, including the D1s.  Here are the standouts from the weekend:

 

Omari Ward 5-11, Point Guard, Fordham Preparatory School, Class of 2022 - A guard that is lightning-quick and is able to get to the basket with ease. Is able to set his teammates up for baskets at the right moments. Has excellent court vision, as he is able to figure out when and where his teammates are moving throughout the court. Has a scorer’s mentality and can create for himself off the dribble.

 

Nathan Boateng 6-6, Forward, Fordham Preparatory School, Class of 2022 - A forward that can play in and outside of the paint area and is able to run up and down the court efficiently. Is very active in the low-post area and uses his strength to power his way to the basket. Is a solid rebounder, who is able to get the ball and put the ball on the floor and go down court. Also has the ability to shoot from long distance.

 

Andre Prescott 5-10, Point Guard, Nazareth High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has plenty of hustle in his game and gives it his all when he’s on the court. Is able to get steals with ease, as he is very active on the floor and can anticipate a pass from the opposition very frequently. Has the ability to pass the ball with ease.

 

Chance Morrish 6-1, Point Guard, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that is smart and can make great decisions with the ball. Is a player that has great defensive tendencies on the court. Has the ability to pass the ball to his teammates at the right moments. Is good for attacking the basket, especially when on the fast break.

 

Joshua Pascarelli 6-1, Shooting Guard, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2023 -A guard that has plenty of quickness in his game and puts a lot of effort in his game. Has the ability to stay with his man and is active on both ends of the court. Is able to get rebounds, due to his athleticism and then run down the court.

 

Latiek Briscoe 6-2, Shooting Guard, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that plays with passion with passion and gives maximum effort on the court. Has superb athleticism and will block plenty of shots, despite his small frame. Has active hands, which allow him to get the ball at all times. Has the ability to take good shots from the top of the key.

 

Jaden Daughtry 6-6, Forward, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2022 - A forward that can play three positions and is very skilled on the floor. Knows how to adapt to the tempo of the game, whether slow or fast. Has superb athleticism, most of which is used on the offensive end when he goes to the rim for a dunk. On the defensive end, he is bound to get rebounds and block some shots.

 

Anthony Graziano 6-6, Forward, St. Joseph By The Sea High School, Class of 2022 - A forward that is very strong and will muscle his way intone paint area and will draw fouls easily. Is very fearless when it comes to him being in the paint area and is able to score with ease. When going up for two, he is able to absorb contact.

 

Danny Marinaccio 6-0, Shooting Guard, St. Joseph By The Sea High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has the ability to shoot the ball at the three-point line. Is able to bury the opposition if he is not guarded heavily. Has the ability to play off the ball and command attention. Is able to create off the dribble and can get to the basket easily.

 

Dorian Paki 6-6, Forward, St. Joseph By The Sea High School, Class of 2022 - A forward that is skilled and uses his length to his advantage when on the court. Is a player that can rebound the ball and run the floor efficiently. Has good hands that enable him to get rebounds and also block shots whenever necessary.

 

Aaron Goldstein 6-0, Shooting Guard, Xaverian High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has plenty of energy on the floor and loves to get after loose balls when on the court. Has a penchant for launching jumpers from long range. Has the ability to get steals and get to the basket with ease. Is a dangerous scorer when the opposition cannot contain him.

 

Carlos Lorenzo 5-10, Point Guard, LaSalle Academy, Class of 2022 - A guard that is quick and loves to get up and down the court with quickness. Knows how to be alert and hustles for loose balls on the court. Is able to get his shot off efficiently and is able to glide to the basket off the dribble. Is a long range shooter from three.

 

Taylor Perlmutter 6-0, Point Guard, LaSalle Academy, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a good shot selection and knows where his teammates are moving at all times. Has a good feel for the court and is very careful with the ball when it comes to giving his teammates passes. Is a player that gives effort every time he’s on the floor.

 

Blaise New 5-9, Point Guard, Iona Preparatory School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is lightning-quick and has a great shot selection. Knows when to shoot and when to distribute the ball to his teammates. Is able to penetrate of the dribble and get his shot off easily. Has good hands on the defensive end as he is able to pick off the ball.

 

Jason Rivera-Torres 6-6, Forward, Iona Preparatory School, Class of 2023 - A forward that is can do many things on the floor and is solid on both ends of the court. Is a player that can score in bunches and move the ball around. Is able to use his athleticism in many ways on the floor and is always active.

 

Thomas Keane 6-0, Point Guard, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that is able to get his teammates involved on the floor, while also finding ways to get score. Is a player that can shoot from three-point range and is fearless when going to the basket. Is also known for having plenty of finesse in his game.

 

Mamadou Traore 5-11, Shooting Guard, Cardinal Hayes High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that gives plenty of energy every time he’s on the floor. Has a good motor and is able to get to the basket fearlessly. Is known for playing tremendous defense and can stay with his man at all times.

 

Ian Jackson 6-4, Shooting Guard, Cardinal Hayes High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has a high-motor and plays hard in every game. Knows when to attack the basket and also when to take a good jumper. Is able to absorb physical contact when going to the hole and uses his strength when going up for rebounds in the post.

 

Noah Best 6-5, Shooting Guard, Mount St. Michael Academy, Class of 2022 - A guard that is a dominant scorer and will do anything to make sure he gets his points on the board. Is very aggressive on the offensive end and has the ability to attack them rim when driving to the hole. Is a player that can shoot from many parts of the floor, including long range.

 

Javoy Thompson 6-6, Forward, Mount St. Michael Academy, Class of 2023 - A forward that can put the ball on the floor and can post up the opposition. Is a very skilled forward that can do many things on both ends of the floor, especially on the defensive end. Is able to get his rebounds and also can block shots in the post.
