RTB College Prospect Notes - September 2021
During the month of September, RecruitTheBronx.com compiled notes from our discussions with high school, prep school and AAU coaches re any under-recruited college prospects that they had in their programs. Below we present our findings.
2022’s
Colin Anderson (2022) 6’5 shooting guard, Fitch High (CT) Anderson is 3 pt sniper with great range He has good length and is still growing. Good passer, handles the ball well with either hands and tremendous basketball IQ. He has a high ceiling. 4.0 gpa
Alex Barnhill Jr (2022) 6’6 small forward, Bridgton Academy (ME) AAU Team: Team Swish - Barnhill is doing his post grad year after scoring >1,300 points in high school while leading Mekeel Academy (NY) on a 28 game win streak. Section II Player of the Year as a junior. He is a crafty finisher at the rim, and he can shoot the 3 and has a good midrange also. He is also a prolific shot blocker. He’s a hard worker, a good leader and he’s very coachable. He’s long and athletic at 6’7” so he’s a mismatch for smaller guards in the post. He’s a good rebounder from the wing. He can shoot the 3 and has good midrange also. Uses his length on defense and gets a lot of deflections and steals. 3.0 gpa
Joel Baez (2022) 6’5 guard, Archbishop Stepinac, AAU Team: 6th Boro - Baez is long and athletic. He is a 3 year player for the NYC Catholic powerhouse and college basketball feeder school, Stepinac. He can play 1-4, defends, finishes and can handle the ball. 3.4 gpa
Kam Bailey (2022) 6’6 small forward, New York Military Academy - Bailey is a 220lb lefty with a 7’0 wing span. He is an explosive dunker (both hands), a 1,000 pt career scorer in high school and is a great rebounder who plays with a high motor. 3.1 ga 960 SAT.
Gerrad Beaubrun (2022) 6’3 swing, Baldwin Senior High, AAU Team: NY Jayhawks - Beaubrun prides himself on his defense. He has an extremely high motor. Beaubrun uses his athleticism and length to finish above the rim, and to block and contest shots. He can play and guard positions 1-4.
Myron Bennett (2022) 6’1 guard, Eagle Academy II, Riverside Impact - Bennett is a pass first guard who enjoys facilitating his teammates’ scoring. He is also a good shooter, best off of the catch. He can play through the team’s sets and has a high basketball IQ.
Dillan Bryan (2022) 6’0 point guard, Bedford Academy - Bryan can shoot the 3 and also defend his position very well. He is a true point guard. High character and a strong student. 3.6 gpa
Yadier Catedral (2022) 6’8 forward, Brooklyn Collegiate High - Catedral uses his 7’1 wing span to alter and block shots. He is a solid rebounder and has good touch out to 18 ft.
Suhayb Choaibi (2022) 6’5 guard, Trinity Pawling School - Choaibi is a post grad in from London. He has great length, making it easy for him to shoot over smaller guards his long frame helps him get to the rim at will with the Euro-step. He has many moves to beat a defender making him a hard player to contain. Choaibi can also knock down shots from the 3 at a good level, making him a well-rounded player. In his last four 18u games in London this summer, he averaged 38 ppg.
Ricardo Dixon (2022) 6’6 swing, Evander Childs High - Dixon will graduate in June as only a 17 yr old. He averaged 19 points and 15 rebounds a game in the 2021-22 season. His coach, Dave Fonfa says that he is easily a D2 level player now, and will likely fill out and be D1 worthy. He has a huge wing span, great attitude and a bunch of upside. 3.2 gpa
Andrija Djikanovic (2022) 6’4 guard, Knox School - Djikanovic is a good shooter both inside and outside the three. His is athletic, and able to attack the basket and finish around the rim. He has a pretty good handle, able to go coast to coast and make good decisions for his team. 3.5 gpa
Tuwan Ellison (2022) 6’4 swing, A. Philip Randolph High - Ellison is a “can-do-it-all” on the floor. He has the ability to adjust during a game offensively versus any defense. Versus zones he can flash and finish while making plays as well as stretch it from 3-point land when needed. Versus man coverage, he can dissect mismatches and execute. Ellison is very explosive and bouncy, which works to his advantage on the open floor (transition). This summer he took Uptown Manhattan by surprise and led his team to winning both the Dyckman Basketball and Washington Heights Invitational Basketball 16u championship, earning MVP honors for the WHIB tournament.
Quincy Ferguson (2022) 6’4 guard, Capital Prep High (CT) - Ferguson is a strong and powerful guard that uses his body effectively to score and defend. He scores at all 3 levels, with his biggest weapon being his perimeter jump shot. He is is deceptively athletic and a great rebounder. He is versatile and can play and defend multiple positions.
Samuel Gibbs (2022) 6’3 guard, Archbishop Stepinac High, AAU Team: PSA Cardinals - Gibbs has good size and a solid frame. He has being playing basketball at the highest level, both as a 4 year starter at Nationally Ranked Stepinac and with the nationally renown PSA Cardinals. He is a lefty with a great feel for the game and ability to make guys better. 4.0 gpa.
Elijah Graig (2022) 5’11 guard, Capital Prep High (CT) - Graig stretches the defense with his deep range. He is highly skilled and a creative finisher around the basket. He has a high basketball IQ and has an effective mid-range game. Graig finishes in a number of ways around the basket that includes runners and floaters to avoid shot blockers.
Davonte Harris-Coleman (2022) 5’11 point guard, Springfield Central High (MA), AAU Team: Next Level Basketball. Harris-Coleman can really facilitate for his team mates. He has a college-ready body who is strong and finishes at the rim well. Extremely quick and fast, can get rim to rim within a blink of an eye. Has a great handle and feel for the game which makes him hard to guard.
Tyler Hawkins (2022) 5’9 point guard, Mount St Michaels High, AAU Team: NY Rens - Hawkins is a tremendous competitor. Very fast and quick with the ball. Gets into lane for kick-outs and has a strong ability to finish at rim. Good mid range shooter and solid from the line. Guards the ball well and can be a real ‘pest’ on the defensive end.
Yaniel Hernandez (2022) 5’9 point guard Fitch High (CT) AAU Team: Connecticut Elite - Hernandez is a four year starter, and is a tough as nails on-the-ball defender. He led the ECC in steals last year with a 5 per game average and he also led in assists a game, while scoring 16 per game. Hernandez is a natural leader and an ultimate competitor.
Omar Jaiteh (2022) 6’0 Guard, Adlai Stevenson High - Jaiteh can put it on the floor and attack the rim, and is able to finish in traffic. Excellent defender and high IQ player.
John Lynch (2022) 6’7 forward, Holy Trinity Diocesan High, AAU Team: Boy2Men - Lynch is a lengthy forward that utilizes his length and height to grab rebounds and block shots. His strongest part of his game is his shooting as he extends his offensive game with his range to open up other opportunities. He also shows a a great ability to finish with either hand efficiently.
Luke McCann (2022) 6’8 Forward, Briarcliff High School. McCann is a highly skilled big man who continues to improve the range on his shooting and is now consistently scoring from behind the arc. He is a bully inside and plays above the rim on both ends. His shot blocking and ability to move his feet defensively to guard out to the perimeter make him unique. High academics and character as well.
Declan McIntyre (2022) 6’0 guard, Archbishop Stepinac High, AAU Team: Boys2Men - McIntyre is an elite shooter and continues to improve other facets of his game - defending, ball handling, passing. 3.8 gpa
Jayce McNeil (2022) 6’5 wing, All Hallows High, AAU Team: Force NYC - McNeil takes pride in his defense and rim protection. He scores well in the open floor and rebounds at a high level. His basketball IQ enables him to keep his turnovers low and his production high. 3.5 gpa
Keyshawn Mitchell (2022) 6’9 guard, Capital Prep High (CT) - Mitchell’s versatility allows him to play all five positions on the floor. He is crafty when handling the ball and has an effective change of pace. He rebounds and starts the fast break. Mitchell has improved both his perimeter defense and rim protection, and is an effective scorer at all 3 levels.
William Phipps (2022) 6’0 guard Knox School - Phipps is a quick guard who can play both ends on the floor and is able to create for himself and others. He gets to his spots on the floor and can get to the basket under control. He is a leader for his teammates each day and is learning how to be more vocal on the court.
Bryce Randolph (2022) 6’4 guard, Archbishop Stepinac High - Randolph is long and athletic. He can both knock down shots and block shots.
Ben Siegel (2022) 5’10 point guard, PG Program TBA, AAU Team: Chris Ward Basketball - A 2021 graduate of Briarcliff High, Siegel is incredibly strong and finishes through contact. He is a workhorse and comes back every year another level up in his game. His strengths include on ball defense, shooting, ability to run a team and physicality. High academics as well 3.7 GPA.
Noam Siegel (2022) 5’11 guard, Salanter Akiba Riverdale High, AAU Team: New Rochelle Jaguars- Siegel is a combo guard whose physical strength, keen passing ability, strong outside shooting, deft dribbling skills, and superior drives to the basket set him apart. He is an extremely coachable player who likes to learn every time he steps foot on the court. Siegal has always played on winning teams and eagerly desires to see his teammates succeed. Basketball is his main passion and he’ll never give less than 100% effort at any point when on the floor.
Trey Skeetes (2022) 6’0 shooting guard, Brooklyn Collegiate High - Skeetes is a sharp shooter, 46% from beyond the arc. He is an exceptional rebounder for his position and is a tough defender.
Isaiah Sullivan (2022) 6’6 shooting guard, Notre Dame-West Haven Post Grad (CT), AAU Team: New Haven Heat - Sullivan can score the ball from anywhere on the court. A true three level scorer, he uses his great length and athleticism to get to the basket. He shoots the ball well off the dribble and bury it off of a catch-n-shoot. His size makes it very tough for opponents to score on him on the defensive end. He is a Division 1 level talent and looks to prove that this winter.
Papa Thiam (2022) 6’4 wing, Knox School, AAU Team:Born Ready Elite - Thiam uses his length and athleticism to be a strong defensive player. Offensively, he is a strong shooter from many spots on the floor, and he has the ability to also get to the rim quickly. 3.6 gpa
Mehki Tyson-Slaughter (2022) 6’4 guard, Capital Prep High (CT) - Tyson-Slaughter is a strong, physical and ultra-athletic guard. He has high energy, a high motor and is a terrific rebounder. He displays his speed, power and athleticism with aggressive dunks and chase down blocks. Tyson-Slaughter can handle the ball, is a good shooter and scores in a variety of ways.
2023’s
Brendan Armour (2023) 6’6 forward, St Edmund’s Preparatory High - Armour is a rebounding machine that can score from the foul line down.
Jeremy Bowers (2023) 5’9 point guard, All Hallows High, AAU Team: Bronx Storm - Bowers is a two-way player, giving a high level ball pressure and help defense and controlling the offense at the other end of the court. He is a play maker that can both create for himself and others. His offensive strenths include good open court decision making and a mid-range jumper.
Jaryn Bull (2023) 6’2 guard, Eagle Academy - Bull is a solid defender, very athletic and physical on ball. Good mid range shooter. Has big upside with a strong work ethic.
Jamine Charles (2023) 6’11 forward, Woodstock Academy (CT), AAU Team: Team NYC - Charles is an unknown D1 prospect, who just arrived to USA basketball from the Caribbean. He has NBA size and agility. He plays hard and is an impact player as a rebounder and rim protector.
Kelvin Collado (2023) 6’6 forward, Mt St Michaels High, AAU Team: NYC Gauchos - Collado is a tenacious rebounder and finisher. Great motor who attacks the rim. Average shooter from 15 feet. Can guard big or small. Very physical on both ends and loves to compete.
Zija Emini (2023) 6’0 shooting guard Fairfield Warde High (CT), AAU Team: DTX Basketball - Emini is a 2 guard who plays bigger than his height. He can guard bigger players in the post, box-out and rebound beyond what his height belies. He is aggressive, and dives for loose balls. He is effective out of the triple threat, and has a reliable mid-range shot.
Prophet Fields (2023) 6’4 point guard, Salesian High, AAU Team: NY Gauchos - Fields is a true floor general with a great midrange pull up in transition, and can shoot from midrange out to the 3 point line. He is a knock down 3 point shooter, two way player and can defend guards and post alike. He has great court awareness and the ability to distribute passes in transition and under pressure. 3.2 gpa
AJ Holl (2023) 6’0 wing, Pope Francis High (MA), AAU Team: Next Level Basketball. Holl is an elite shooter with unlimited range and who can find open spots to get his shot off. Quick release and makes defenders respect his pull up game also. He is comfortable going either way and does a great job rebounding the ball at both ends of the floor.
Christian Jeffers (2023) 6’4 small forward, Danbury High (CT), AAU Team: CT Dream - Jeffers has a great body type that can influence the game in many ways. He can get to the rim, post up and finish and knock down the 3. He is able to control the glass and defend multiple positions. 4.2 gpa
Shay John (2023) 6’7 forward Forest Hills High - John’s is an elite shot blocker with scholarship length and athleticism. He can play both with his back to the basket and facing up. Shay has 3 point range. He understands all offensive and defensive schemes. He can guard all five positions. 3.7 gpa
Nehemiah Johnson (2023) 6’0 point guard, Capital Prep High (CT) - Johnson is a tough, pass-first, point guard. He is aggressive and defensive minded without fouling. Johnson attacks the basket off the dribble and is creative finishing at the basket to avoid defenders.
Joe Kosior (2023) 6’0 wing, West Springfield High (MA), AAU Team: Next Level Basketball. Kosior has a great feel for the game. He can score at all 3 levels and handles well it in traffic. He is strong around the rim and can finish through contact. Does a great job getting others involved and always brings energy to his team.
Jayden Larregue (2023) 6’2 guard, Briarcliff High, AAU Team: Chris Ward - Larregue plays with great quickness and athleticism. He plays above the rim, can dunk with either hand or with both and routinely dunks in games. He is an excellent ball handler who can shoot it as well. Great mid range game. Larregue is very long, making him a monster defensively. He needs to get stronger and better at creating off of ball screens in order to maximize his potential. High character, unselfish player who only cares about winning.
Jaylen Logue (2023) 6’7 forward, Monsignor Scanlan - Logue has only been playing basketball for less than two years. Despite that, he is doing well and has a ton of upside. He works well out of both the high and low post. He has good footwork and is a good mid-range shooter. 3.9 gpa
Jalen Lyn (2023), 6’2 guard, Mt St Michael High - Lyn is a solid athlete with great instincts for game. Shoots it well off dribble and spot ups. Gets into lane for kick-outs. Very calm on court, but has great motor. Finishes at rim with ease, Excellent from line. Needs to get stronger. Honor Student.
Ben Lyttle (2023) 6’4 small forward, Archbishop Stepinac High - Lyttle is a high motor two way player. He is very aggressive on defense and has developed a jump shot that extends beyond the 3 point line. Lyttle does the little things needed to win ball games such as deflecting apass, rebounding, stealing and be an all around menace to his opponent. 4.0 gpa
Izaiah Millan (2023) 5’11 point guard, Mt St Michael High - Millan is a solid floor general. Better than average shooter, can knock down the 3. Takes pride in distributing and setting others up. Tenacious on ball defender from end to end. Excellent from line. Honor Student.
KJ Manigaulte (2023) 5’10 point guard, New Rochelle High, AAU Team: GoTorey All Stars - Manigaulte is a high IQ point guard that can make plays for others and knock down shots. He plays tough defense and is a team leader. 3.7 gpa
Eddie Munyak (2023) 6’0 guard, Eagle Academy II - Munyak’s strengths are catch and shoot and mid range pull-ups. He has secret athleticism. He can see the court well to make tough passes.
Luke Penna (2023) - 6’3 guard, Southington High (CT), AAU Team: Connecticut Elite- Penna is a defender first who can defend well on the ball and can read and react to what happens off the ball. He can also hit open shots and has an offensive game that has a lot of potential to expand. He can push the ball up the floor while and spaces the floor well. He rebounds well for his size. 3.5 gpa
Quincey Platt (2023) 6’8 wing, Adlai Stevenson HIgh - Platt is very athletic and can shoot the ball from mid range and beyond the 3 point line. He is also a great shot blocker and can finish around the rim.
Aidan Roy (2023) 5’10 point guard, Mamaroneck High, AAU Team: Go Torey All Stars - Roy was a starter last season as a sophomore on the Mamaroneck High conference semifinal team. He is a huge shot maker, with the ability to create shots for himself and his teammates. He is a crafty, tough guard that is looking forward to a huge junior season.
Mike Sadowski (2023) 5’10” combo guard, Long Meadow High (MA), AAU Team: Next Level Basketball - Sadowski can score at all 3 levels. He has unlimited range and shoots at a high level. College ready body who attacks the rim well and find open shooters. Ready for a breakout season to show college coaches he is ready to lead his team.
Damjan Stanisic (2023) 6’0 point guard, Knox School - Stanisic is a high IQ playmaker who can shoot and excel in the pick-n-roll. He is also a strong perimeter defender. 4.0 gpa
Eduardo Suriel (2023) 5’10 shooting guard, University Heights High - Suriel is a good ball handler and has a strong mid-range game. He can finish through contact. Suriel is an intense defender. 3.9 gpa
Tanner Tedesco (2023) 6’0 point guard, Cheshire Academy (CT), AAU Team: Team Swish - Tedesco transferred in to play NEPSAC AA ball from Voorhees, NY. He is a pure point guard that leads and levels a team He controls the tempo of every game and rarely turns the ball over. He has played up at the 17u AAU level since he was 13 and has been a varsity starter since he was a freshman. He motivates and encourages his teammates and is an extension of his coaches. 3.7 gpa, 1100 SAT
Javoy Thompson (2023) 6’6 forward, Mt St Michaels High, AAU Team: Level Up LI - Thompson is a tremendous athlete with a great body. Average shooter who sees floor well. Can guard big or small. Needs to be more consistent on both ends, but has big upside.
Patrick Washington (2023) 5’10 guard, North Babylon High, AAU Team: Boys 2 Men - Washington is a strong defender, guarding all positions. He can also score at all 3 levels. He is quick, coachable, and has a high basketball IQ. Washington is a good teammate who communicates well on the court. 4.0 gpa
Mitchell Wiggan (2023) 6’4 guard St Edmund’s Preparatory High - Wiggan is a long wing that scores in bunches. Wiggan can score on all 3 levels. Also a excellent student, he should have a huge junior season.
Blake Wilson (2023) 6’3 guard, St. Pius X (Atlanta, GA), AAU Team: CT PHD - Wilson is a versatile guard that always plays at a high level. He brings a strong offensive game which includes long range shooting, killer pull-up jumpers and floaters. He is a lock down defender that his coaches rely on, usually guarding the opponents’ best player. He is unselfish and can get others open off of his lane penetrations. 3.7 gpa
Malcolm Jefferson Wrisby (2023) 6’4 point guard, The Phelps School (PA) - Wrisby showed a lot of poise and play making ability in big moments. At 6’4, he handles and passes the ball extremely well, consistently making plays for others. He can defend 1-4 and rebounds the ball well. During the most recent D1 Observation Period, Wrisby heard from Lafayette and and Fairfield University.
Alex Zakheim (2023) 6’2 guard, Frisch School (NJ), AAU Team: Chris Ward Basketball - Zakheim made a name for himself as a scorer in AAU leagues and showcase camps this past spring and summer. He has college 3pt range and uses a euro step and other crafty moves to get to the basket and score. He is an excellent passer off the dribble and is adept and driving kicking to 3 pt shooter on the wing and foul line extended. He has the wing span that helps him be a disruptive perimeter defender and ball hawk. 3.7 gpa
2024’s
Jordan Boreman (2024) 6’1 guard, St Edmund’s Preparatory High - Boreman is a smooth ball handler with tremendous court vision. He plays downhill and defends 94’ feet.
Amare Cockfield (2024) 5’11 guard, Capital Prep High (CT) - Cockfield is a confident, high percentage shooter from behind the arc. His greatest weapon is his jump shot. Cockfield is also calm and composed and has the ability to make big shots under pressure.
Makai Coleman (2024) 5’11 guard, Newtown High (CT), AAU Team: Westchester Swarm - Coleman is a Yonkers native who just moved to Connecticut. He played his freshman ball for Mt St Michaels in the Bronx. He has shown tremendous development over the past year. He is a dynamic lead guard and a deadly shooter from behind the arc. He can score in bunches and is sneaky quick on the defensive end. He is still growing in height and in adding strength and skills. 3.5 gpa
Josiah Evans (2024) 5’5 point guard, Capital Prep High (CT) - Evans is a super-quick point guard with great change of pace that gets him by his defender. He is a one player press break. Evans is able to break down defenses off the dribble and find open teammates. He is a tough on ball defender and is aggressive playing the passing lanes.
Jacob Francis (2024) 6’5 guard, Fitch High (CT) Francis - Jacob has a motor and is an excellent rebounder who finishes well using either hand. He is a good ball handler and a willing passer with room to grow.
Riley Fox (2024) 6’5 wing, Conard High (CT), AAU Team: Project Triple Threat - Coming off an all conference season, as a freshman, Fox attended every single off-season workout from April-August while also being one of the best scorers for his AAU club and in the Newington summer league. He is now up to 6’5 as a wing and added 15 pounds to get to 170 lbs. While he continues to be one of the best pure scorers in the area, he is working on and improving his ball handling and decision making, especially in the pick and roll. He has the work ethic and is on the path to being a college prospect as just an incoming true sophomore.
Makai Gillespie (2024) 5’7 - guard, Capital Prep High (CT) - Gillespie is an aggressive on-ball defender. He is a pest on defense creating turnovers and is active in getting his hands in passing lanes. He attacks the basket from off-of-the-dribble.
Ben Haug (2024) 5’10 point guard Smithtown East - Haug is a point guard who can shoot the ball and get to the rim with multiple finishes and different touches around the rim. He is also am a great defender who will get multiple steals a game. 3.7 gpa
Marcel Henry (2024) 6’5 small forward, Iona Prep, AAU Team: Westchester Swarm - Henry has the drive, determination and focus to be the best that he can be. He is a throwback post player, with great footwork and low post moves. He is also successfully developing a deadly mid-range shot and the ability to hit from beyond the arc. He has a great attitude and is easy to coach. 3.7 gpa
Antwon Katako (2024) 6’4 forward, Mt St Michaels High, AAU Team: Westchester Swarm - Katako is a skilled player who is strong is tough. Finishes at rim. Guards the post with strength and agility. He has advanced low post moves, and can hit his open mid-range and 3 pt shots. Solid passer who has good instincts for game. 3.6 gpa
Dan McGetrick (2024) 6’1 guard, Southington High (CT) - McGetrick is strong as both a 3pt an d mid-range shooter. He can create his own shot and for others. He is a good play maker and has a strong basketball IQ. He is improving his upper body strength and that is improving his ability to get to the rim. He is a good perimeter defender. 3.0 gpa
Jalen Munson (2024) 5’11 guard Curtis High - Munson has improved as a point guard each since assuming the position in high school. He has good court vision and the ability to see a play before it happens. He gets the ball to guys in positions where they can be most effective. He can push the tempo on offense. He is an aggressive defender.
Cameron Perkins (2024) 6’3 small forward Danbury High (CT), AAU Team: CT Dream - Cameron Perkins is a very skilled player that is an inside/outside scoring threat. He can knock down the 3 and has a variety of moves in the post. He is always communicating on the floor and has a great basketball IQ.
Charnez Perkins (2024) (2024) 6’3 small forward Danbury High (CT), AAU Team: CT Dream - Charnez Perkins is a super athletic player that gets it done on both ends. He runs the floor, gets in the paint at will and can finish with either hand. He is a lockdown defender that can guard 94 feet and defend multiple positions.
Cavin Pollard (2024) 6’8 power forward, Northwest Catholic High (CT) - Pollard has good size and is a strong and active player. He has a nose for the ball and finishes well around the rim.
Jayport Smith (2024) 5’9 point guard, Mt St Michaels High - Smith can really push the ball and make plays. Tough to guard because he’s so fast and quick. Solid mid range shooter who has great motor. Guards ball for 90 feet and never gets tired. Relentless in all areas of game. Solid student.
2025’s
Jaryn Aguiar (2025) 6’1 point guard, Eaglebrook School (MA), AAU Team: BABC - Aguiar is a lengthy point guard with great leadership skills. He can score at all three levels and facilitate with ease.
Cameron Menna (2025) 6’2 wing, St Edmund’s Preparatory High - Menna is a A big time scorer that will be an impact player in the future.
Jaysean Williams (2025) 5’8 point guard, Bloomfield High, AAU Team: Connecticut Elite - Williams has an incredible work ethic and is eager to maximize his potential. He has developed himself into a dynamic player. He has leveraged his ability to learn the game in to becoming a strong leader on the court.
