This weekend at the Parque de Los Ninos Playground in the Soundview section of the Bronx, we were able to capture the action at the New York vs. New York Tournament, which is sponsored by Nike and Game Seven Marketing. Six games from the Nike umbrella of tournaments: Dyckman (Inwood, Manhattan), Watson Classic (Bronx), Tri-State Classic (Harlem, Manhattan), West 4th Street (Greenwich Village, Manhattan), the defending champions Gersh Park (East New York, Brooklyn) and the newly-introduced Lincoln Park Classic (South Ozone Park, Queens) all battled it out on a cold, chilly Saturday afternoon. Here are the standouts from the three games that took place.


DaShawn Davis Our Saviour Lutheran School (NY), Team Watson, Shooting Guard, 6-3, Class of 2019 - An athlete on the floor. Is very strong when going to the basket. Great at finishing when going to the hole. Has to develop a jumper.


Jaylen Murray Cardinal Hayes High School (NY), Team West 4th, Point Guard, 5-11, Class of 2021 - A very quick guard who possesses superb point guard skills. Has some great court vision. Has the ability to make a floater.


Majesty Johnson Brooklyn Collegiate High School (NY), Team West 4th, Point Guard, 5-8, Class of 2020 - A small diminutive guard that is very flashy. Has cat-like quickness when running the floor. Needs to be able to finish at the basket efficiently. Always able to get to the line.


Demarley Smith Our Saviour Lutheran School (NY), Team West 4th, Combo Guard, 6-0, Class of 2018 - A facilitator that can push the ball up the court. Needs to cut down on turnovers. Jumpshot not consistent.


Michael Green Mount St. Michael Academy (NY), Team Watson, Shooting Guard, 5-11, Class of 2019 - A guard with a knack for scoring. Will do anything to get to the free throw line. Dangerous shooter from three-point range.


Brandon Weston Lake Forest Academy (IL), Team West 4th, Forward, 6-4, Class of 2021 - A great low post player that has toughness. Cleans up rebounds efficiently.


Curtis Gordon Abraham Lincoln High School (NY), Team West 4th, Forward, 6-2, Class of 2018 - A bruising power forward with plenty of moves around the basket. Uses frame to get a lot of rebounds. Very versatile with ball handling.


Khalif Battle Trenton Catholic Academy (NJ), Team Tri-State, Shooting Guard, 6-4, Class of 2019 - A scoring guard that is lethal from three-point range. Goes to the hole a lot & mainly looks to score.


Moussa Cisse Christ the King High School (NY), Team Lincoln Park, Center, 6-11, Class of 2021 - A formidable presence in the post. A player that blocks shots. Needs to add a jumper to his arsenal. Is dominant in the post.


Aidan Igiehon Lawrence Woodmere Academy (NY), Team Lincoln Park, Forward, 6-10, Class of 2019 - A player with a strong frame. Needs to finish at the basket more consistently. A great rebounder with muscular frame & ability. Has a good floater. Needs a jump shot.


Jonathan Kuminga Huntington Prep School (WV), Team Lincoln Park, Forward, 6-7, Class of 2021 - A skilled swingman that can shoot at a high rate when given the opportunity. Has a lot of athleticism.


Posh Alexander Our Saviour Lutheran School (NY), Team Lincoln Park, Point Guard, 5-10, Class of 2020 - An explosive player that goes to the cup and terrorizes the rim. A facilitator that is great at getting his teammates the ball.


Precious Achuiwa St. Benedict’s Preparatory School (NJ), Team Tri-State, Forward, 6-8, Class of 2019 - A player with a long frame that can shoot from mid-range. A scorer that can torch the defense when he has the ball. Has the ability to take over a game when he has the ball.


Idan Tretout Wilbraham & Monson Academy (MA), Team Tri-State, Guard, 6-4, Class of 2019 - A player that opens up the floor for his teammates. A great passer that also attacks the glass with reckless abandon.

Nate Tabor Sacred Heart High School (CT), Team Lincoln Park, Forward, 6-6, Class of 2020- A player that has plenty of toughness when on the court. Can do multiple things on both ends of the court.


Anthony Marshall Thelma Hamilton/Metro BDA High School (NY), Team Lincoln Park, Point Guard, 5-10, Class of 2020 - Crafty ball handler. A scoring guard who looks to blow by defenders on the way to the basket. A proven competitor.


Jaquan Carlos Thomas Jefferson High School (NY), Team Gersh Park, Point Guard, 6-0, Class of 2021-A dominant shooter from long range. A crafty guard that creates for other teammates on the court. Can do a lot of damage when left open.


Dontae Walker Innovation Charter School (NY), Team Dyckman, Forward, 6-4, Class of 2020 - A player with long arms, looks for steals, and a strong defender. Makes strong drives to the basket. Shows plenty of athleticism.


Ja’Quaye James Teaneck High School (NJ), Team Dyckman, Point Guard, 5-8, Class of 2020 - A guard with diminutive size that knows how to go to the hole with strength. Fearless defender on defense. Plays tremendous defense.


Zach Freemantle Bergen Catholic High School (NJ), Team Dyckman, Forward, 6-8, Class of 2019 - A player with good size that runs the floor well & gets a lot of rebounds. Really good at rebounding & showing off athleticism. Good ball handler for his size.
