2018 Rucker Park Summer League

2018 Entertainers Basketball Classic High School Summer League at Rucker Park tipped off this week. With a solid line up of schools this should shape up to be a very interesting time for summer competition. Still one of the better proving grounds in NYC EBC continues its rich tradition of basketball action. RTB was present and these are our top performers.


Monday, June 18

Iona Prep vs Bergan Catholic


Ronald “RJ” Green 2022 6’4 wing Iona Prep - young but versatile. Displays a better than average skill set. Good with the ball in hands. Can get to the basket off the dribble. Needs to work on his shooting.


Isaac Gonzalez 2022 6’0 Iona Prep - decent with his shot off the dribble and in catch n shoot situations. Uses his dribble effectively to set up others and for himself. Needs get better on defense.


Zach Freemantle 2019 6’8 forward Bergan Catholic - good size and strength. Good vertical and finishing ability at the basket. Works hard to grab rebounds. Needs to work on his shooting skills and dribbling skills.

Monsignor Scanlan vs South Shore


Matt Mayers 2019 6’8 forward Scanlan - good hands around the basket. Has the capability to finish with a nice touch at the basket. Can block some shots. Decent footwork in the post. Needs to work on his power moves in the post.


Kadary Richmond 2019 6’4 guard/wing South Shore - good athleticism in transition. Nice wingspan. Decent with his dribble. Can make plays with his passes. Needs to work on the his shooting.

OSL vs Brooklyn Law


Davonta Cook 2019 5’10 guard Brooklyn Law and Tech HS - has the potential to emerge as one of the better guards in his conference. Can handle the ball. Average passer. Will give you a good enough effort on offense and defense. Needs to be careful with his turnovers.


DeShawn Davis 2019 6’3 guard Our Savior Lutheran - good athlete. Can make power moves and finesse moves to the basket. Plays in attack mode. Will hit open shots. Needs to create more with his passes.


Posh Alexander 2020 5’10 guard Our Savior Lutheran HS - athletic and talented. Tough to stop when he is attacking the basket. Can play above the rim. Good with the ball in hands and passing the ball. Needs to be a better shooter.
