St Francis Prep Open Gym Standouts 9/22/21
On September 22, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to St. Francis Preparatory High School in the Fresh Meadows section of Queens, as the Terriers participated in an open gym in front of college coaches from SUNY Farmingdale State University, Fordham University and the College of Charleston. All players came ready to battle in the search for a scholarship. Here are the standouts:
Tyler Michel 6-0, Shooting Guard, Class of 2024 - A guard that can bring the ball up and shoot from the top of the key. Is a face-up shooter that can create off the dribble and attack. Is always alert and ready for the ball at all times, especially when the ball is loose on the floor. Plays with tremendous energy.
Joshua Pascarelli 6-1, Shooting Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that is very active when on the court and is a solid playmaker. Has the ability to get to the basket and can take plenty of shots from the top of the key. Has a penchant for using his athleticism when he goes up to the basket. Has the ability to pass to his teammates when he doesn’t have the shot.
Marco Battaglia 6-3, Shooting Guard, Class of 2022 - A guard that is able to get to the glass efficiently and run on the fast break. Loves to play on the perimeter and can pick his spots as far as shooting. Also has a penchant for driving to the basket when going up to score. His shooting can break down the zone of the opposition when he’s on defense.
Chance Morrish 6-2, Point Guard, Class of 2022 - Has a great point guard IQ and has the ability to control the team’s tempo when he has the ball and has great defensive tendencies on the court. Has the ability to pass the ball to his teammates at the right moments. Is good for driving to the basket and is fearless when going up to the cup.
Tyler Morales, 5-11, Point Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard who likes to move off of a pick & roll and can see where he can drive to. Has a good IQ for his position and can read where his teammates are moving at all times when they’re on the courtre . Has good footwork and has the ability to hit a floater.
Hao Chen 6-5, Forward, Class of 2025 - A forward that can play on the perimeter and is able to kick it out to his teammates. Has a good defensive stance and is able to stay in front of his defender. Is able to make an impact when he’s off the ball.
Vere Anthony 6-0, Point Guard, Class of 2025 - A guard that is quick and deceptive when he gets the ball in his hands and is able to see where his teammates are moving at all times. Is very poised for his age and can control the ball at the perimeter.
Giorgi Tchitadze 6-6, Forward, Class of 2022 - A forward that can do many things on the floor, such as handling the ball and establishing his position in the paint. Has great footwork and is very strong. Uses his body to absorb physical contact in the paint and can snare rebounds efficiently.
Jesse Killian 6-3, Shooting Guard, Class of 2022 - A guard that loves to drive to the lane in transition and can split the defense. Loves to run in transition and can see where his teammates are going in order to hit them with great passes that could potentially lead to made baskets. Is a player that loves to score in many ways, including hitting long range shots.
Caleb Phillips, 5-9, Point Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that can attack off the dribble and can find his teammates in the right places in order to give them passes that could lead to passes. Is very quick in transition and can glide to the basket. Finds many ways to get to the hole.
Nolan Raymond, 5-7, Point Guard, Class of 2024 - A guard that has a diminutive frame, but is very fearless when he’s on the court. Is always looking for the ball and can move well off the ball, and can play off of a pick & roll. Is able to attack the basket and when drfving, he is unafraid of contact.
