2021-22 Brooklyn Collegiate Roster Preview

Brooklyn Collegiate High will play this year, as usual, in the PSAL AA Division. However, last year, due to Covid 19, PSAL temporarily reconfigured its divisions. So in 2021, Brooklyn Collegiate were the undefeated champions of the Brooklyn 3 Division. The team is head coached by Malcolm Connor. Below is a recap of the key players in the program:

 

Zaquan Jones (2022) 6’5 wing - Zaquan is an explosive wing with a quick first step, elite strength, and excellent athleticism. Although he’s known for his powerful dunks, he has a soft touch out to 20 feet. Zaquan is an excellent rebounder and defender who’s not afraid to dive for loose balls and take charges. He’s comfortable handling the ball and can easily get by bigger defenders. D1 prospect.

 

Jamal Smith (2022) 6’3 wing - Jamal is a lockdown defender who likes to guard 94 feet and doesn’t back down from the opposing team’s best player. On the offensive end he’s a slashing wing who can cause all types of chaos in the paint. He’s excellent in transition and capable of getting hot from the perimeter. D2/D3/JUCO prospect.

 

Trey Skeete (2022) 6’0 guard - Trey’s name says it all! He’s a 3 point specialist with the ability of knocking down threes from anywhere on the court. He’s also a solid ball handler capable of getting to his floater. Plays with intensity and is an incredible rebounder from the guard spot and an excellent defender. D3/high academic prospect.

 

Dayjon “DayDay” Anderson (2023) 5’10 point guard - Dayday is a prototypical gritty NYC PG. He is absolutely electric with the ball in his hands and is a true pass first PG. As a sophomore he lead the PSAL in assists with 9.7 per game. Dayday is crafty in the paint and capable of finishing with both hands. He has a solid midrange jumper. D2 prospect.

 

Tori Babs (2025) 6’4 wing - Tori has the ability to develop into one of the state’s top prospects. He’s only 14 years old but can do it all. Offensively he handles the ball like a guard and has a smooth jumper - he’s also an excellent finisher in the paint. On the defensive end, his 6’8” wingspan and quickness allows him to guard 1-4. With some added muscle and more HS experience Tori should dominate the PSAL for years to come. D1 prospect.

 

Flavio Jean (2025) 6’0 point guard - Flavio just turned 14 years old and is a crafty, high-IQ PG from Harlem - who’s toughness is unmatched. Flavio has a tight handle and is an excellent shooter. Despite being only 14 he’s physically stronger that a lot of high school guys already and capable of finishing through contact. D1 prospect.

 

Jayden Johnson (2024) 6’0 guard - Jayden just transferred in from Bishop Loughlin. Only 15 years old. He’s a crafty lefty who is comfortable on- or off- the ball. Jayden has the ball on a string and plays with great pace. He also has a smooth jumper and super high IQ. D1/D2 prospect/high academic prospect.


Yadier Catedral (2022) 6’8 forward/center - A true 6’8” forward with a 7’1” wingspan. Yadier is a developmental big with a soft touch. Yadier is a solid rebounder and shot blocker who consistently knocks down the mid range jumper. D2/D3/JUCO prospect.
