The Aim High Eagles are based out of Queens, NY. The program began with an effort to help student-athletes improve their overall skills through camps, clinics, and one on one training. Aim High has since been recognized as a platform to help players get exposure to college while creating a more competitive environment for younger players. The 17u boys team is coached by Blake Gaston and his assistant Geallo Alvarez.

The Aim High Eagles 17u college prospects:

Matthew Tucker (2023) 6’2 guard, Archbishop Molloy High - Matt is a big guard and can play the 1-3 but 4 and 5 if needed. Matt can attack the basket, shoot the mid-range, push in transition and make the right play, rebound, look for the open teammate, defend as well as handling the ball. Matt is still working on his game overall but each year he gets better. Also, he can be a floor general at times which is something he needs to keep working at.

Brayan Espinal (2023) 6’1 shooting guard, Hazard Independence High School (KY) - Brayan is a team player. He can shoot the 3, pass, and rebound.  Brayan has length and is a coachable player. Brayan continues to work every day on his handles and shot-creating abilities. He has grown a lot from when he first started playing basketball in 2019.

Jaidenblake Gaston (2024) 5’11 guard, Monsignor McClancy High - Jaidenblake is a brilliant offensive player, who mixes it up by creating his own shot, getting to the free-throw line, hitting the midrange, and of course using his extensive range. He moves well without the ball and strives in the open court. He’s an underrated defender who understands how to help and recover.

Victor Cruz (2022) 5’9 guard, Christ the King High - Victor is a gritty guard who doesn’t back down from anyone. He can score the ball, play defense, and always finds the open man. He’s unselfish and always gets his teammates involved. He has matured as a basketball player over the years and uses his speed well in order to make plays on both offense and defense.

Danny Wade (2023) 6’0 guard, St Mary’s High - Danny is a combo guard with a great IQ. Danny can find the open man at any moment and set his team up for the right play. His passing ability is what makes him stand out the most along with his ability to knock down the long ball. Danny is continuing to work on his game and has taken his game to the next level throughout the last few years especially during the time of quarantine. He has shot up as well going from 5’8 to 6’0 in one summer which has helped his overall game. He is currently working on getting faster and being more aggressive on the offensive side of the floor.

Malachi MacMillan 6’0 point guard, Archbishop Molloy High - MacMillan is a tough and quick guard that makes the right play. He uses his strength and quickness to get to the basket and create for his teammates. He plays both sides of the floor and over the past few years, his shooting ability has greatly improved.

Deshaun Douglas (2023) 5’8 guard, St Mary’s High - Deshaun is a pass-first guard for this team. Deshaun is athletic as he uses athleticism to score, rebound, get steals, and can also handle the ball. Deshaun has continued to put the work in and improve his game over the past few years. He makes an impact more on the defense side which is his strong point. He loves putting a lot of pressure on the ball handler and forcing turnovers.

Kyle Dhu (2024) 6’1 guard, Brooklyn Law & Tech - Dhu gets wherever he wants to on the floor because of his speed, quickness, and length. He uses his long arms to his advantage on both ends of the floor, whether deflecting passes on the defensive end or shooting over the top of smaller guards from the perimeter and mid-range. He is shifty with the ball which allows him to get to the paint for kick-outs.
