Dave Edwards Fall League Standouts 9/25/21

On September 25, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to the inaugural Dave Edwards Memorial Fall League, which was organized by Elmcor and the Lincoln Park Classic, and took place at the Elmcor Center in Corona, Queens. On the first day, there were three games (St. Raymond vs. Eagle Academy II, South Shore vs. Holy Cross and Xaverian vs. John Bowne). Here are the standouts from the games:

 

Tai Turnage 5-9, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that is very crafty with the ball and can see where his teammates are moving on the floor in order to set them up with opportunities to score. When driving to the basket, he possesses plenty of toughness and can absorb contact when going up to the basket, despite his lithe frame. Also has the ability to shoot from the corner.

 

Ahmir Moore 6-1, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is a solid playmaker on the court and always has the opportunity to distribute the ball to his teammates in a timely manner. Has a quick first step when going to the basket and can get to the cup easily. Has the ability to get steals at all times.

 

Mark Rodriguez 5-8, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that finds a way to make plays and can help his teammates in multiple ways on the floor. Has a penchant for sticking with his man and has a knack for hitting clutch shots when needed. Gives maximum effort on the court every time out on the floor.

 

Isaiah Philbert 6-0, Shooting Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has a good wingspan and is able to get steals and get after the ball. Has a nice shooting touch from the outside and can pass the ball to his teammates as well. Great at seeing the court and knowing where his teammates are at, so he can spread the court and give his teammates the ball and distribute it to the person that’s cutting in the lane.

 

Ray Pimentel 5-7, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that is quick and deceptive when on the floor and can slice and dice his way to the hole. Finds a way to get rebounds and make an impact every time he’s on the floor. Has a penchant for taking the ball to hole and getting to the free throw line easily.

 

Treshawn Sheppard 6-6, Forward, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2023 - A forward that has the ability to play the two and the three. Is very strong and is able to bully his way to the basket against other defenders. Has the ability to use his athleticism in many ways, whether it includes him driving to the basket for a layup or him going up for a dunk or him going up for a rebound.

 

Taj Bryant 6-0, Point Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2024 - A guard that is very crafty and is able to get to the lane with ease. Is able to create for himself when on the floor and knows when to drive to the cop for a basket. Has the ability to see where his teammates are going and can put his teammates in position to drive into the lane.

 

Jaquel Morris 6-9, Forward, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2022 - A forward that is long and athletic and is fearless when on the floor. Is tough as nails and is always ready to obtain a block or a rebound. Has a penchant for holding his own around the rim and attacking the glass for a rebound.

 

Eddie Munyak 6-0, Shooting Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2023 - A guard that is able to space the floor and can make a huge impact for his team. Has the ability to take advantage of the opposition with his shooting ability from three-point range. With his shooting, he is able to help his team against the opposition’s zone defense.

 

Eric Acker 6-1, Point Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to see the floor and knows how to maneuver on the court. Is able to break down the defense when going to the basket and has a penchant for playing above the rim. Knows when to dish it out to his teammates and set them up for baskets.

 

Emmanuel Obiora 6-6, Forward, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2022 - A forward that is slender and can put the ball on the floor at all times. Is very active on the boards and has the ability to drive to the basket with ease. Makes smart decisions with the ball and does not hesitate to play big when he has to.

 

Tylik Weeks 6-7, Forward, South Shore High School, Class of 2022 - A forward that has the ability to put the ball on the floor and play like a guard, but has the toughness to maintain his presence in the post. Is great at using his body to absorb contact and make powerful plays on both ends of the court. Has the ability to block shots on the defensive end.

 

Ibrahim Ba 6-7, Forward, South Shore High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that is a force when in the post area, as he is skilled and has great footwork. Has an affinity to show his athleticism when on the offensive end and is a force. Has a long wingspan, which helps him when going up for a rebound or a basket.

 

Davin Francis 6-6, Shooting Guard, South Shore High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a long wingspan and has the ability to create for himself on the offensive end. Is able to drive to the basket effortlessly, and has a great first step when it comes to dribbling from the perimeter. Is active when going to the basket and capitalizing on opportunities to score.

 

Kyrone Alexander 6-5, Shooting Guard, South Shore High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a long wingspan and has plenty of physicality in his game. Knows how to take advantage of the opposition with his fearlessness and can attack from the perimeter. Is able to drive to the basket off the dribble and can get to the hole easily.

 

Darnell Childs 5-11, Point Guard, Holy Cross High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that is diminutive and can take it to the basket easily. Is very fearless when going into the paint area, and has plenty of quickness which gets him down both ends of the court. Is very deceptive with the ball in his hands and can also get to the holle, but can also shoot from the top of the key.

 

Supreme Niles 5-10, Point Guard, Xaverian High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that can make many big plays on the court and knows when to turn on the engines when it comes to getting up and down the court. Has the ability to set his teammates up nicely in positions to score for them and to get assists for himself. Has a penchant for getting to the basket off the dribble.

 

Christopher Judge 5-11, Point Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to make tough plays on the floor and can get past his defender with his dribble. Can shoot the ball off the perimeter with a quick release and is fearless when going to the hole. Has a penchant for finding his teammates in the right spots on the floor in order to get assists.

 

Djibril Diallo 5-11, Shooting Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that sees the floor well and is able to move without the ball. Is very dangerous from three-point range, especially when left open. Is fearless when going up for two at the basket and when left open and unguarded.
