2021-22 Fordham Prep Roster Preview

Fordham Preparatory school of the Bronx is in the CHSAA ‘A’ Division. They are the defending City Champions, winning their first title since 1933 in March 2020. Four returning seniors were on that team as sophomores with all impactful roles. They were also City Champions on the Freshman level in 2019. Head Coach Brian Downey ‘95 is entering his 7th season at the helm. He was an assistant coach at Fordham Prep from 1996-2003 then went to All Hallows until 2014 when he took over at his Alma Mater.

 

Here are the key players for the Rams in 2021-22:

 

Nate Boateng (2022) 6’6”, 190lbs- Boateng is a versatile forward who can score off his offensive rebounds or many moves in the post. He is the total package with his rim protection, rebounding and can step outside and drill mid range and 3 point shots. 4.1 gpa


Jake Introzzi (2022) 6’4” 210lbs, swing. Introzzi is a workhorse. No one will out hustle or work harder than him. Nonstop motor who can guard multiple positions and gets the job done in many ways. High basketball IQ makes positive plays. 3.8 gpa


Omari Ward (2022) 5’11”, 160lbs - Ward is the consummate point guard. This floor general has excellent court vision that makes the right decisions with the ball in his hands. Outstanding ball handling that changes speed and direction to elude defenders. He will knock down the perimeter shot at ease if you give him the space. 3.4 gpa

 

Thomas Whelan (2022) 6’2”, 165lbs guard - Whelan is an excellent 3 point shooter with unlimited range. He is a very tough and fearless player that brings the energy on every possession. He is very strong with the ball and can penetrate to the hoop at will. Tough defender that will be up in your space. 3.9 gpa

 

Charlie O’Sullivan (2024) 6’4”, 185lbs wing - O’Sullivan shoots the 3 point shot effortlessly. High basketball IQ and also sees the floor very well. His quickness is improving everyday and will be a top player in the City in the near future. Huge upside. 4.2 gpa
