The Preview Top Performers 10/9/21
On October 9, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to Nazareth High School in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn for The Preview. This was a preseason showcase in which many teams in the tri-state area compete the preseason to get ready for the high school season, which is a month away. Here are the standouts:
Raesean Greer 6-2, Shooting Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has a great edge to his game and knows how to slice and dice his way to the basket. Is great at absorbing physical contact when going up for a basket. Is quick on his feet and is very alert when on the floor.
Jamere Russell 6-3, Shooting Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has plenty of length and is always alert when he’s off the ball. Is always good at distributing the ball to his teammates. Has the ability to get back downcourt on the defensive end
Alpha Bah 5-9, Point Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has great defensive tendencies when it comes to getting steals on the court. Loves to stay in front of his man, as he looks to get the ball every time, On offense, he is able to create for himself and is able to get to the basket with ease.
Chris Judge 6-0, Point Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has a penchant for coming up clutch in big situations. Has the ability to hit a jumper from the top of the key & will look to take the best shots. Has the ability to drive to the basket with strength.
Quincey Platt 6-8 Forward Adlai Stevenson High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that has plenty of length and knows when to keep his hands up on the defensive end. Is very active when it comes to getting rebounds and can put the ball back up when it comes to putbacks. Is good at putting the ball on the floor and attacking the basket.
Leon Anderson, 5-8, Point Guard, Adlai Stevenson High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that makes plenty of strong drives when going to the basket and is always ready to score. Despite his small frame, he is fearless when going to the basket. Never hesitates to attack whenever the lane is open.
Ishmel Gibbs, 5-8, Point Guard, Adlai Stevenson High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that loves to bring the ball up the court and will look to set his teammates up for baskets when it comes to them driving to the basket. Has excellent court vision and has terrific point guard IQ. Is able to go after loose balls whenever he has the opportunity.
Jean Aranguen 6-3, Shooting Guard, Upper Room Christian School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is very competitive and finds a way to get to the basket with ease. Does not back down from any challenge presented to him. Is fearless when driving to the basket & can also shoot from the perimeter.
Dante Green 6-3, Shooting Guard, Upper Room Christian School, Class of 2024 - A guard with plenty of speed and great athleticism. Is good at creating for himself on the offensive end and is able to set teams up for baskets. A great rebounder that can that can get out and run in transition. Has the ability to shoot with a good release off the dribble.
Anthony Reyes 5-10, Point Guard, Upper Room Christian School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has great energy on the floor and is an asset to his teammates every time he’s on the court. When left open, he can cause damage to the opposition with his long range shooting. Is fearless when driving to the basket at all times.
Ty-Laur Johnson 6-0, Point Guard, St. Benedict’s Prep High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a penchant for controlling the tempo for his team on the break and getting to the basket with ease. Has good hands that allow him to get steals and get downcourt easily. Is a great distributor for his teammates and has the ability to make great plays.
Everton Browne 6-0, Shooting Guard, St. Benedict’s Prep High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has plenty of speed and uses it to his advantage every time he’s on the court. Knows how to distribute the ball to his teammates and can make sure they get the ball at the right spots.
Chase Robinson 6-0, Point Guard, Archbishop Molloy High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is able to control the tempo for his team every time they step out on the floor. Has great hands, as he is able to attack in transition and also obtain steals. Loves to drive to the basket and gets to the hole smoothly.
Malachi McMillian 5-11, Shooting Guard, Archbishop Molloy High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the opportunity to bring the ball up the court and lead the team at all times. Has great point guard IQ & has the ability to use his quickness whenever possible. Uses his speed to get to the basket and is fearless when going to the hole.
Thuron Gordon 6-2, Shooting Guard, Canarsie High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that can create for himself when he has the ball in his hands. His long wingspan allows for him to get rebounds and box out when the ball goes up. Is an outstanding defender that forces the opposition into giving up the ball or into refusing to make certain shots.
Jared Days 6-6, Forward, Canarsie High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that has the ability to establish his presence due to his length. Is able to post up the opposition in the low post and can back them down when it comes to offense. Has good hands, which allow him to get blocks on the defensive end.
Bradley Beache 6-7, Forward, Canarsie High School, Class of 2023 - A forward who has the ability to be the cleanup man in the low post, as he is able to get rebounds efficiently. Is able to run well with the guards and can establish his presence in the low post and can determine where the ball will go when he extends his hands to get a pass.
Jacob Roman 5-11, Shooting Guard, Nazareth High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has plenty of quickness and has the ability to score in transition. Has the ability to shoot from long range & is a huge asset for his team, especially in the clutch. Is a player that can create for himself off the dribble.
Tristan Rogers 5-11, Shooting Guard, Nazareth High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has a penchant for driving to the lane and loves to score. Is able to attack off the dribble with precision. Is able to find a way to get to the free throw line and is fearless when driving to the basket.
Nasir Rodriguez 6-4, Shooting Guard, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2024 - A player that can play both the two & three position and can play with plenty of energy. Possesses plenty of strength & fearlessness, as he is able to him getting rebounds or driving to the basket. Is a player that drives to the basket and showcases his athleticism when going up with the ball.
