South Shore High Open Gym 10/21/21

RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to South Shore High School in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn for their Open Gym on October 21. The defending PSAL “AA” champions came into the gym and played ultra-competitively to help them prepare for the upcoming season. Here were the standouts:


Max Ragusa 6-0, Point Guard, Class of 2022 - A guard that is very competitive and is a player that can stay with his man at all times. A guard that is smart with the ball and always looks to hit his teammates with passes that will lead to baskets. Is a player that can create for himself off the dribble and finds an opportunity to get to the hole and has the ability to hit shots from the outside.


Tylik Weeks 6-6, Forward, Class of 2022 - A forward that is a powerful inside presence, he makes it his mission to be an enforcer in the post, Is able to hold his own in the low post and can obtain rebounds by boxing his man out all times. Has great footwork and is able to get to the basket with ease.


Ibrahima Ba 6-8, Forward, Class of 2023 - A forward with size, he has plenty of strength and is able to make his presence felt in the paint area. Has the ability to use his wingspan to obtain rebounds and block shots. Has a penchant for scoring with precision.


Kyrone Alexander 6-5, Shooting Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to create for himself off the dribble and uses his strength to get to the basket with ease. Has the ability to drive into the lane and is fearless when going up to the basket. Has the ability to use his toughness to obtain rebounds.


Davin Francis 6-5, Shooting Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that has good size for his position and can make great moves when going to the basket. Knows how to facilitate to his teammates at the right moments and finds many ways to get to the basket. Has a slick handle and is able to get his shot off from long range.


Nivek Borden 6-8, Forward, Class of 2022 - A forward with plenty of toughness every time he steps on the floor. Has a very imposing figure and has plenty of strength that allows him to muscle his way to the boards. Uses his physicality to muscle his way to the basket when it comes to rebound or going up to score.


Dia Braithwaite 6-0, Point Guard, Class of 2022 - A guard that has great defensive tendencies and is very alert every time he steps out onto the floor. Looks to get to the basket at all times and can get to the hole with precision. Is a good decision maker when it comes to controlling his team. Has the ability to create for himself off the dribble.


Jalen O’Brian 6-6, Forward, Class of 2023 - A forward with great size that can slash his way to the basket and knows when to attack at all times. Has superb athletic ability and uses his strength to muscle his way to the basket. Knows when to attack the glass and get downcourt.


Zyir Fowler 6-0, Shooting Guard, Class of 2022 - A guard that has a penchant for scoring in multiple ways. Has the ability to shoot from long range and is able to slice and dice his way to the basket. Is great at absorbing contact when driving to the hole.


Abou Ba 6-3, Shooting Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that has great size and length and has the ability to step out and shoot from long range. Has good footwork and can contribute to his team in many ways when on the floor. Is active when it comes to passing the ball to his teammates.
