2021 Lower Manhattan Invitational Top Performers


Over Veteran’s Day weekend, the Seward Park program held their annual preseason bracket-style tournament. With a mix of Manhattan, Bronx and Brooklyn PSAL teams vying for the championship trophy, teams were able to prepare for the season in a highly competitive atmosphere.

With the PSAL season approaching, organizer Coach Katey Wentworth of Seward Park launched this tournament to be a spring board for teams to get an early gauge on what the season will bring.


Top performers in the games were:


Rashaun Chapple 6’2 Seward Park class of 2022 Combo Guard with explosive athleticism and serious scoring ability. Shifty ball handler and crafty scorer that penetrates defenses very well and is a willing passer. Dangerous for other teams in transition.


Emilio Nabli 6’1” Seward Park class of 2023 Smooth 3 point shooter with deep range. Strong and athletic shooting guard that can get to the rim and finish well around the basket. Good defender with explosive athleticism.


Jahmarri Clarke 5’10” Graphics class of 2022 Small guard that is lightning quick and very strong problematic for individual defenders to keep with. Gets to the rim with ease and is a consistent finisher. Good basketball IQ and strong leadership qualities. Creates mismatches for defenders. Disciplined defender in the half court.


Jose Rosario 5’9” Graphics class of 2022 Lefty shooter with serious range and scoring ability. Needs little to no room to get his shot off and knocks it down consistently. Knows and gets to his spot well and plays within his own game. Scores in bunches and defends well.


Romario Dunkley 6’3” West 50th street Campus class of 2022 Classic athletic wing player with clear understanding of the game. Strong and focused finisher - runs the floor well and can knock down the open three. Vocal leader who brings a lot of energy.


Zion Hinkson 6’2” August Martin class of 2022 undersized Wing scorer who is strong and athletic and can Get to the rim well. Has a good outside shot. Understands his strengths and uses them well - vocal leader and high motor.


Rashad Jean-Gilles 6’1” August Martin class of 2023 Smooth combo guard with a good mid-range game. Runs the floor well and plays at his own pace. He does a nice job of playing his own game who doesn’t force actions. Can score in bunches.


Ricardo Dixon 6’6” Evander class of 2022 long and lanky wing player that can score easily around the basket and has solid midrange game. Defensively is a rim protector who’s long frame create issues for the other teams offense. Scores the ball at a high clip.


Merlin Gogolin Hunter 6’5” wing class of 2023 high academic Athletic 3-level scorer who creates matchup issues on the perimeter. Smooth shot but can score around the rim easily. High basketball IQ who understands pace well. Good defensive player who’s team creates deflections and forces turnovers easily.
