2021 Benjamin Classic Top Performers

On December 19, RecruitTheBronx.com got to Bishop Loughlin High School in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn for the second day of the Antonio Benjamin Memorial Classic. On this day, there were three games involving teams from the boroughs and Long Island. Here were some top performers:

Nohoun Diarra 6-2, Shooting Guard, Brooklyn College Academy, Class of 2024 - A guard that is tough and very athletic when in the post area. Because his team is undersized, he plays the low post, but he is able to step out onto the perimeter & create for himself. Is able to get up for rebounds and can put his hands up in order to block shots.

Tiziah Spears 6-1, Shooting Guard, Brooklyn College Academy, Class of 2022 - A guard that is able to play on the perimeter and can free himself when it comes to getting the ball. Has a penchant for drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line.  Has good hands on the defensive end and can attack.

Zekerea Alyshka 6-3, Shooting Guard, Broome Street Academy, Class of 2022 - A guard that is a great distributor with the ball and looks for his teammates at the right spots. Is able to see the floor well and can move around the floor when he’s off the ball. Loves to drive to the basket and is able to draw fouls and make his way to the free-throw line efficiently. Has a nice shot from three-point range.

Jaden Arroyo 6-0, Point Guard, Broome Street Academy, Class of 2022 - A guard that loves to be out on the break and has a penchant for finding his teammates at the right spots. Is able to create for himself on the floor.  Has the ability to obtain steals and can get to the basket easily. When left heavily guarded, he can take advantage of the opposition’s weakness.

Brayan Espinal 6-1, Shooting Guard, Broome Street Academy, Class of 2023 - A guard that is defensive-minded and has a great eye for paying attention to the ball. A player that loves to run and is active on the fast break. Knows when to take a great shot and also when to kick it out to a teammate that’s on the break.

Yousef Saleh 5-10, Point Guard, Broome Street Academy, Class of 2022 - A guard that has the ability to stick with his man on defense. Is able to get steals in transition and can get downcourt with ease. Has a penchant for driving to the lane and can score easily.

Jamier Nowell 5-9, Point Guard, Benjamin Banneker Academy, Class of 2024 - A guard that is quick with the ball and knows how to be deceptive with his handle. Is always alert on the defensive end when it comes to getting steals or even getting to loose balls. Finds ways to set up teammates with passes that lead to baskets for his team & has the ability to get to the basket and shoot from long range.

Kevin Rochez, 5-7, Point Guard, Benjamin Banneker Academy, Class of 2022 - A guard that has a penchant for bringing the ball up the court & has excellent court vision. Has superb quickness where he is able to get past his defender. When driving to the basket, he finds a way to finish strong at the basket. Has good hands, which aids in him to get steals at all times.

Asani Delpeche, 6-4, Forward, Benjamin Banneker Academy, Class of 2022 - A forward with a long wingspan and and plenty of versatility. Uses his strength to hold his own when it comes to him getting rebounds & putbacks and blocking shots. Has a penchant for going to the basket and finishing strong.

Sincere Simmons, 6-3, Forward, Benjamin Banneker Academy, Class of 2024 - A forward that is able to hold his own in the low post for his team. Has soft hands, which aid in him obtaining rebounds and also getting his shot off. Uses his body to absorb contact in the post and is fearless when going up for a shot.

Aaron Nyantankyi, 6-4, Forward, Brentwood High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that likes to run down the floor and attack in transition. Has the ability to rebound the ball when in the paint area. Uses his body at all times to get charges and is fearless when it comes to contact.

Daniel Hernandez, 6-0, Shooting Guard, Brentwood High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that loves to free himself on the perimeter and look for ways to get open, so that he can get his shot off. When going up for a basket, he has the ability to absorb contact.

Seth Jones, 6-2, Forward, Brentwood High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that is strong and rugged in the low post. Is able to handle the ball and loves to drive and has the ability to dominate in the paint. Is able to step out and shoot from three-point range.

Zatai Townsend 6-1, Shooting Guard, Brentwood High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has good hands and is very alert on the defensive end. A guard that has the ability to shoot from long range and is very aggressive when driving to the basket. Has superb athleticism when going up for a basket.

Josh Ramos, 5-8, Point Guard, Brentwood High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is speedy and is able to see where the opposition is moving so that he can swipe the ball from them and get back to the basket. Has the ability to shoot from long range and has an affinity for getting to the basket to score. Has the ability to help his teammates get great opportunities to score.

Jaden Michael, 6-3, Shooting Guard, Brentwood High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that loves to run out on the floor and possesses plenty of versatility on the break. Is a player that is able to create for himself off the dribble. Is great for driving to the basket and can come off of screens and then drive to the basket.

Jordan Joseph, 5-10, Shooting Guard, LaSalle Academy, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to be an asset on the defensive end for his team. Has the ability to pick off passes from the opposition. Is able to block shots and get back rebounds. Has the ability to kick it out to his teammates on the break.

Carlos Lorenzo, 5-10, Shooting Guard, LaSalle Academy, Class of 2022 - A guard that is very alert when it comes to cutting to the basket. Is able to get rebounds whenever the ball goes up. Is fearless when it comes to taking charges and has the ability for hitting clutch shots, especially from three-point range.

Taylor Perlmutter 6-1, Point Guard, LaSalle Academy, Class of 2023 - A guard that has good court vision and is able to see where his teammates are going at all times. Is able to control where his team is going when he is in the perimeter. Likes to drive to the basket and can make.

Ryan Toscano, 5-8, Point Guard, LaSalle Academy, Class of 2023 - A guard that is alert on the defensive end and is able to stick with his man with ease. Has the ability to shoot from long range & is able to move around the perimeter and free himself for an open shot. Finds ways to draw fouls and get to the free-throw line.
