2022 Eagle Fest Standouts

On Friday, February 4, RecruitTheBronx.com pulled up to the Barclays Center for the first annual Eagle Fest, which was put together by NYC Prospects and Varsity Customs. In this event, two schools under the Eagle Academy network, Eagle Academy I (The Bronx) and Eagle Academy II (Brooklyn), showcased their talents against two non-league PSAL teams: Green Tech from Albany and Evangel Christian from Queens. Here are the standouts from Friday’s event:


Khalil Robinson 5-9, Point Guard, Eagle Academy I, Class of 2023 - A guard that has blinding speed and is able to create for himself off the dribble. Knows when to go to the basket or when to pull up at the top of the key to shoot from the perimeter. Is able to give his teammates the ball at the right moments in order to put them in position to score.

 

Asa Kone 6-8, Forward, Eagle Academy I, Class of 2022 - A forward with plenty of length & size. Is able to provide dominance in the low post to his team and is able to hold his own in the post area with blocks in the post. Is able to play above the rim and get to the hole with ease.

 

Jaden Zimmerman 6-3, Shooting Guard, Eagle Academy I, Class of 2024 - A guard that is very shifty and is able to find multiple ways to score. Is a great slasher to the basket and is a player that can shoot from long range. When not heavily guarded, he is able to give his team plenty of much-needed scoring, and is also a solid defender.

 

Kimani Walker 6-3, Forward, Eagle Academy I, Class of 2022 - A forward that is able to provide plenty of strength and good play in the post area. Is a player that has a lot of toughness and can attack the glass with ease. Is able to draw fouls and get to the foul line with ease.

 

CJ McCullum 5-8, Point Guard, Eagle Academy I, Class of 2022 - A guard that is a great facilitator for his team. Uses his court vision to see where his teammates are moving and can make plenty of plays in the backcourt area. Is able to get past defenders and is able to absorb contact when going into the lane.

 

Dayshaun Walton, 6-4, Shooting Guard, Green Tech Charter High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has the ability to see the floor and attack the lane. Is a potent scorer that is poised to get buckets every time he’s on the court. Knows when to dish a pass to the opposition or when to go for a basket. Is fearless everytime he goes into the lane and has great upper body strength.

 

Zaveon Little, 6-2, Point Guard, Green Tech Charter High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has plenty of quickness on the court and the ability to get downcourt with ease. Is fearless when going to the hole to score. Is a great facilitator that is able to dish passes to his teammates in the post.

 

Henry Perkins, 6-8, Forward, Green Tech High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that has the ability to use his large frame to impose his will in the paint. Is solid to use his body to box out the opposition as a way to obtain rebounds. His footwork and physicality allow him to give his team someone that can score.

 

Haisi Mayben, 5-10, Point Guard, Green Tech High Charter High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has a penchant for making the most of his offensive possessions. Loves to shoot from three-point range and also get by his defender to get by his defender to get the hole. Is very quick on both ends of the court.

 

Victor Pharr, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Green Tech Charter High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has the ability to bring the ball up the court and see the court. Is very speedy and efficient at his position. Loves to stay on the defensive end and will stay on the opposition when they have the ball.

 

Taj Bryant 6-2, Point Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to play the point guard position very well for his team. Is able to create for himself off the dribble and get his shot off easily. Is a player that can see where his team is moving and has the ability to dish off assists to his teammates.

 

Eric Acker 6-1, Shooting Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a huge scoring presence every time he’s on the floor. Is able to drive into the lane with ease and can get to the basket, using his athleticism to go to the hole. Is fearless when going to the basket and can absorb contact when going up to score.

 

Jaquel Morris 6-8, Forward, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2022 - A forward with a great physical presence and can attack the glass with force. Has great size and is able to hold his own in the post by blocking shots and obtaining rebounds. When in the post, he is able to use his body to go up and score. Has the ability to play above the rim.

 

Isa Abraham 6-0, Point Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2023 - A guard that has plenty of speed on the floor and has a penchant for getting steals and converting on the other end. Has the ability to have a nice shooting stroke from the top of the key. Is a player that is a solid contributor to his team.

 

Angel Espejo 6-1, Shooting Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to step out on the corner to get his shot off efficiently. Has plenty of toughness, which he uses when going up to get rebounds. If not heavily guarded when on the three-point line, he is able to do damage to the opposition with his scoring.


Eddie Munyak 6-0, Shooting Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2024 - A guard that has a penchant for getting past the opposition with his slick handle. Is a player that has good footwork when going to score and has a nice fluid shot when on the offensive end. Is able to use his grit to step into the lane and get a rebound.


Luis Peña 6-3, Shooting Guard, Evangel Christian School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to drive to the lane and has a long wingspan. Is able to glide to the basket with ease and has a nice, slick handle on the court. Is able to get rebounds efficiently and then get downcourt with ease.

 

Carlos Perez 6-0, Point Guard, Evangel Christian School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to shoot from long range and can drive to the basket. Has the ability to make great passes to his teammates on the floor. Has the ability to see the floor and knows when to give his teammates the ball and when to score.


Keven Campusano 6-3, Shooting Guard, Evangel Christian School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to get downcourt in a great manner. Is able to make a smooth entry into the lane. Is able to drive to the basket and can absorb physical contact and draw fouls at the basket. Is an offensive threat every time he steps on the floor.


Jose Mena 6-1, Point Guard, Evangel Christian School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a penchant for making good decisions when going to the basket. Is able to attack the lane with his handle. Is a player that has a penchant for making sure that his teammates get the ball in the right positions.


Abraham Rosario 6-8, Forward, Evangel Christian School, Class of 2024 - A forward that has the ability to make an impact on the floor, even when not scoring. Has a penchant for getting rebounds and kicking it out to his teammates, so that they can get downcourt on a fast break. Is fearless when in the post area and uses his physicality to hold his own in the paint area.
