Rise Above Basketball 2022 16u and 17u
Rise Above Basketball is a South Shore Massachusetts based basketball program that prepares its players to achieve success on and off the court via running camps, clinics and high level AAU teams. The program is in its 10th year under founder and director Brendan Carter. Carter is a former Associate Head Coach at Framington State University and an Assistant Coach at Salem State University. The program draws high potential talent from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Upstate New York and Rhode Island.
Below is a run down on their 16u and 17u players for this spring.
Class of 2024
Dan Civello 6’9 forward, Boston College High School (MA) Civello has as olid touch around the rim and a smooth shot from the outside. He went through a massive growth spurt over last two years and is still learning how to play within his new body.
Harrison Stanwood 6’0 guard, Marianapolis Prep (CT) - Stanwood is a dynamic scoring combo guard with a quick first step and the ability to create or score at the rim. He can take over a game at any moment.
Ty Cheney 6’1 guard, Xaverian Brothers High School (MA) - Cheney has good length and athleticism. He is a slasher and plays well in the open floor
Class of 2023
Logan Murphy 6’4 guard, Sandwich High School (MA)- Murphy is a scholarship level talent who can score it at all three levels He brings solid length and athleticism at the guard position and can shoot it well from beyond the arc.
Jake Peterson 6’5 shooting guard, Hanover High School (MA) - Peterson is currently a three point specialist with good length at the guard position. He is attracting college interest from multiple levels.
Collin Johnson 6’6 forward, Tabor Academy (MA) - Johnson has a college-ready frame and is great at the pick and pop game. He can score around the rim and rebounds well out of his position.
Liam Kennelly 6’0 point guard, Millbrook School (NY) - Kennelly is a high IQ floor leader with incredible instincts, a coach on the floor. He can get into the paint at will and has creative scoring ability around the rim. He can also shoot it from the outside.
John Brigham 6’8 forward, Franklin High School (MA) - Brigham has plenty of room for growth. He works extremely hard for post position and has solid footwork around the rim. He can also step out and shoot it and runs the floor well.
Matt Draheim 6’0 guard, Boston College High School (MA) - Draheim is a skilled lefty scoring guard that can fill it up. he can shoot it well from the outside and is creative with his passing.
Ray Johnson 6’0 guard, Marianapolis Prep (CT) - Johnson has a college-ready body with shot-out-of-a-cannon quickness. He is a also an elite level defender.
Owen Layton 6’0 guard, Pomfret School (CT) - Layton is a scoring guard and a lunch pail worker who wants to win.
Declan Davis 6’0 guard, Plymouth South High School (MA) - Davis is tough and a high IQ shot maker.
Nick Neary 5’11 guard, Weymouth High School (MA) - Neary is the ultimate teammate. He shows a high IQ on the defensive end and is an improved shot maker.
