2022 Real Scout Showcase Standouts

On April 7, RecruitTheBronx.com made it to the Frederick Samuel Community Center in Harlem for the Real Scout Showcase. This showcase is an annual event that is put together by Nate Blue, the founder/CEO of Real Scout Basketball. Nate Blue is renown for both his eye for talent in Greater NYC and his long time efforts to get the word out on those players. Many of the best unsigned prospects in New York City and New Jersey came out to show their talent in front of college coaches on the Division II, Division III and JUCO levels. There were three games played, two senior games and an underclassmen game. Here are some of the standouts from the event:

 

Zaire Baines 6-0, Point Guard, Portledge School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has the ability to stay in front of his man on the defensive end and has great lateral movement. Has the opportunity to score in bunches and is able to give his teammates the opportunity to get the ball in the right spots. He is also a scorer that is able to get to the basket at all times.

 

Donnell Campbell Jr. 6-3, Shooting Guard, Murry Bergtraum High School, Class of 2022 - A shooting guard that has the ability to play with poise and athleticism when he’s on the floor. A player that is able to create for himself when he has the ball in his hands and has the ability to get to the basket. Is able to get up when it comes to getting rebounds.

 

Devere Palmer Jr. 6-7, Forward, Christ the King High School, Class of 2022 - A forward that has the ability to play tough in the low post and can make his presence felt when on the court. Has plenty of superb athleticism and loves to play above the rim. Is an asset to his team when on the floor and can run downcourt with ease.

 

Isaac Gonzalez 6-2, Point Guard, WHEELS, Class of 2022 - A guard that has the ability to take plenty of shots and shoot at a high volume. Is able to make plays on the offensive end and knows when to kick out the ball to his teammates when he has to make a pass. Loves to drive to the basket when he has the opportunity.

 

Emarquis Jones 6-6, Forward, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2022 - A forward that has plenty of length and size and has the ability to stand out on the floor. Is able to absorb physical contact and can make his presence felt in the low post. Is able to make put backs or find ways to score in the low post.

 

Harry Bonilla 5-11, Shooting Guard, James Monroe Campus, Class of 2022 -A guard that has the ability to be a playmaker on the court and has excellent court vision when he’s on the floor. Has the ability to create for himself and can make plenty of shots from long range. Is a scoring machine that always takes risks when it comes to shooting from certain spots on the floor or driving to the basket.

 

Asa Kone 6-8, Forward, Eagle Academy I, Class of 2022 - A forward that has plenty of strength that can play the four and five position very well. Loves to use his frame to his advantage when in the paint and has very good hands, which aids in him blocking shots in the post or obtaining rebounds. Has the ability to play above the rim.

 

Jarrett Dingle 6-2, Point Guard, South Shore High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has great court vision when on the floor and always finds a way to get his teammates involved, Is able to find plenty of ways to score when he has the ball, whether it is driving to the basket or shooting from long distance. Is fearless when driving to the basket at all times.

 

Jahmir Payoute, 6-5, Forward, Snyder High School (NJ), Class of 2023 - A forward with plenty of length and a long wingspan that has the ability to play tough when on the court. Is a player that has plenty of strength and can absorb contact when going up for a basket. Is a good defensive player that can be a huge defensive threat, as his wingspan gives him the opportunity to block shots or force the opposition into taking bad shots.

 

Kyrone Alexander 6-5, Forward, South Shore High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to play with tenacity and is very alert on both ends of the floor. Is able to run down the floor every time and loves to drive to the basket and has the chance to score in transition. Is fearless when it comes to absorbing contact when he’s driving to the basket.

 

Shandres Serrata 6-6, Forward, Murry Bergtraum High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to run down the court with ease and is able to get to the ball in multiple ways. Is good for getting to the boards, as he is able to box out and can get rebounds at crucial moments. Is able to put the ball on the floor and can drive to the basket at all times.

 

Davin Francis 6-6, Shooting Guard, South Shore High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has playmaking abilities when he’s on the floor and is able to create for himself on the perimeter. When in the corners, he has the opportunity to shoot from long range or get past his defender to get to the basket and score. His athleticism is off the charts and is often used when on the offensive end. Francis plans on doing a postgraduate year next season at a school TBA.

 

Andre Bowles 6-4, Shooting Guard, Murry Bergtraum High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a penchant for scoring in bunches and is fearless when driving to the basket. Has no problem when it comes to shooting at a high volume, especially from three-point range and loves to run on the fast break. Is able to run on the break and can attack in transition.

 

Aaron Goldstein 6-0, Point Guard,  Xaverian High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that loves to have the ball in his hands and is fearless when taking on the opposition. Is a player that loves to shoot from long range and can roll off of screens. Is a guard that can stick with his defender and is good for taking charges.

 

Anthony Isaac 6-5, Forward, Thomas Jefferson Campus, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to do many things on the court and has excellent footwork, which he uses to put the ball on the floor. Is able to get to the basket and attack the glass in order to get rebounds in the low post. Shows plenty of versatility and is able to shoot from 15 feet outside of the paint and is able to score.

 

Jaden Zimmerman Eagle Academy I - A guard that is good for making big plays on the court and can shoot from long range. Uses his athleticism, such as playing above the rim and is a force when driving in the lane. Has plenty of confidence in his game and can see and read the floor at all times.

 

Zaquan Jones 6-5, Forward, Brooklyn Collegiate High School, Class of 2022 - A forward that is very dominant in the low post, as his strength aids in him getting rebounds at crucial moments as a way to help his team. His physical nature leads to him muscling into the paint as a way to score. Is very difficult to contain in the post area.

 

Dia Braithwaite 6-2, Point Guard, South Shore High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has the ability to bring the ball up the court and has excellent court vision. Has the ability to be creative off the dribble and can pull up for a jumper. Is good at attacking the lane and has the ability to drive to the hole.

 

Supreme Niles 6-0, Point Guard, Xaverian High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has excellent court vision and has the ability to use his quickness to his advantage every time he’s on the floor. Has the ability to finish strong at the basket at all times. Knows when to give his teammates passes at the right time.

 

Clinton McCullum Jr. 5-10, Point Guard, Eagle Academy I, Class of 2022 - A guard with plenty of quickness and good decision-making when on the offensive end. Is great at making sure that his teammates get the ball whenever they need it and at crucial moments. Has the ability to get his shot off efficiently and is able to glide to the basket easily.
