CT Select College Prospects
CT Select is one of the most revered and storied programs in grassroots basketball history. Below are some prospects in the program for the spring currently coached by long-time grassroots staple Dre Johnson.
Andre Johnson Jr. (2022) 6’4 combo guard, South Kent School (CT) - An athletic and skilled combo guard who is a big time scorer and makes big time shots. He scores in bunches and can play on and off the ball. Elite shooter who has deep range and scores from all three levels. ‘A bucket’. He likes to create for teammates, rebounds well for the guard position and is a willing defender. He is a gym rat with a high IQ.
Caleb Sampson (2022) 6’2 combo guard, The MacDuffie School (MA) - Strong body, crafty, attaching guard. He gets down hill and finishes well through contact. Is able to get to the basket with ease and uses his physicality to draw fouls and also to obtain rebounds. Makes pull-up and open jump shots consistently. A gym rat who takes pride in defending.
Christian Wilson (2023) 6’10 wing/forward, Weaver High (CT) - A force in the paint with a nice touch from mid range and spreads the court with the 3 ball with ease. Alters and blocks shots around the rim at a high clip. Game and recruiting is growing quickly. May reclass to class of 2024.
Julius Powell (2023) 6’9 forward, Bristol Central High (CT) - A physical big who hits the glass hard. Finishes around the basket with either hand and is knocking down the 3 ball. Julius is a difference maker on defense. May reclass to class of 2024.
Lennox Serrano (2023) 6’6 wing, Kennedy High (CT) - A versatile wing who can help any team in a number of ways. A big guard that plays above the rim, shoots it with range, and can play positions 1-4. Rebounding machine. Work-horse with a very high motor and coachable. May reclass to class of 2024.
Dayven Zielinski (2023) 6’4 guard, Kennedy High (CT) - All State and All Conference big guard who shoots the ball well. Smooth shooting stroke and can take over games at times. Plays above the rim. Can play the 1-3.
Dylan Swift (2023) - 5’11 guard, St. Thomas More (CT) - High energy and high character kid. A pest defensively and disruptive to the other team’s offense. Runs the offense and shoots the ball extremely well.
Jahvon Mirthil (2022) 6’1 guard, Notre Dame West Haven Prep (CT) Competitive guard with a strong build. Attaches the basket fearlessly to score and is able to absorb contact. Is able to step out on the perimeter and shoot from mid and long range.
Terrance Morrison Jr. (2025) 5’10 guard, Kennedy High (CT) - High motor guard who is a deadly shooter from 3 point range and a pest defensively. Someone to keep an eye on.
