The Team Cray Huskies are the definition of Upstate NY basketball. Founded in 2019 by James Cray, an assistant coach at Rush Henrietta High School, and is currently an assistant coach at the historic McQuaid Jesuit High School in NY. He also does scouting in Upstate NY for Prep Hoops.The Huskies have made a name for themselves, traveling the country and recently upsetting sneaker and top independent teams. Team Cray vows to bring together a diverse group of players from all over Rochester, NY.


Their program is loaded with high-level talent, high-character players, and high academic athletes:

 

#0 Chris Powell (2025) 6’3 Guard, University Prep - A long elite athlete who finishes with dunks and crafty finishes at the rim. He knocks down the three from range and pulls up well in transition.


#2 James Mathews (2022) 6’2 Guard, University Prep - Athletic, high skilled guard. A 3-level scorer who creates for others well enough to keep defenses honest. Guards multiple positions on the floor.


#3 Ian Florence (2023) 6’0 Guard, McQuaid Jesuit High School - Fundamentally sound, doesn’t make mistakes, and communicates well on the floor. Deadly shooter from anywhere off the catch. Holds a 4.0 GPA


#4 Patrick Tehan (2024) 6’4 Wing, McQuaid Jesuit High School - Strong athletic wing with a college-ready body. He defends 1-4 and plays bigger than his size. Great catch and shoot three but plays nicely off two feet in the paint. Holds A 3.8 GPA


#5 Ryan Heath (2023) 6’0 Guard, Irondequoit High School - High-skilled guard with elite finishing ability. Crafty around the basket with an elite floater in the lane. Shifty and hard to stay in front of plays the passing lanes and creates easy points off steals.


#6 Khaleeb Obieke (2025) 5’9 Guard, McQuaid Jesuit High School - Elite playmaker who handles the ball well under pressure. He runs the pick & roll as well as most college guys. Very unselfish and can make any pass on the floor. Shoots it well from beyond 25 feet. Will guard the opposing team’s best guard every night.


#10 Bryon Streb Jr (2023) 6’5 Forward, Spencerport High School - Strong Framed stretch four that shoots the three-ball well. Handles the ball well out in space and finishes through contact with ease. Not afraid to take charges and get on the ground for loose balls. Holds a 4.0 GPA


#14 Christopher Woodard (2023) 6’5 Guard, McQuaid Jesuit - Big athletic guard with elite athleticism, finishes above the rim through contact. Fundamentally sound and will take smaller guards down low where elite footwork comes into play. Shoots the 3 very well off the catch.


#22 Shamir Caruthers (2022) 5’11 Guard, East High School - Crafty guard who is the rare True Point Guard. A vocal leader that gets everyone involved. Knockdown 3-point shooter who finishes well in traffic around size. He makes every pass on the floor and makes everyone around him better. A tough defender that gets a lot of on-ball steals.


#23 Greyson Trubia (2024) 6’8 Forward, Suffield Academy (CT) - Long athletic stretch 4 that finishes well around the rim. Elite rim protector that defends the basket at a high level. Good footwork down low with the ability to stretch the floor and knock down the 3 ball.
