2022 W 4th Standouts - Juneteenth Day

On June 20, RecruitTheBronx.com joined the Juneteenth celebration paid at the West Fourth Street Courts in the Greenwich Village section of Manhattan, aka “The Cage” one of the City’s most famous asphalt courts.


We were there to catch the high school division play of the West 4th Street Classic

 

Here are the standouts:

 

Jonathan Rosado, 5-8, Point Guard, Franklin K. Lake High School, Sky Risers, Class of 2025 - A guard that is very tenacious on the defensive end and has a knack for being on the fast break. Has a penchant for shooting from long range & is willing to take risks when it comes to shooting during the right moments. Is good at staying with his man on the other end of the court.

 

Keyshawn Mitchell 6-8, Forward, Woodstock Academy (CT), Sky Risers, Class of 2023 - A forward that is strong and agile and is able to impose his frame on smaller players. Has a long wingspan and uses his long reach to block shots & obtain rebounds. Is able to power his way to the basket and is able to play above the rim.

 

Scottie Lee 6-3, Shooting Guard, Boys & Girls High School, Orangemen, Class 2024 - A guard that has the ability to bring the ball up the court & is a solid playmaker. Is able to drive past the opposition and get to the basket easily. Is fearless when it comes to absorbing contact & when he is at the basket, he goes up strong.

 

Rahiem Robinson 6-4, Shooting Guard, Boys & Girls High School, Orangemen, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt with his scoring prowess. Is great at running on the fast break and can take it to the basket with strength and precision. Has the ability to play off the ball & anticipate when a pass is coming to him.

 

Treyshawn Sheppard 6-6, Forward, Eagle Academy II, Rim Rockers, Class of 2023 - A forward that has the ability to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor. Loves to drive to the basket & attack the glass when it comes to get rebounds. Uses his strength to hold his own in the low post and is always able to draw fouls when going to the basket, due to his ability to absorb contact.

 

Kyle Marshall 6-4, Shooting Milbrook School, Rim Rockers, 2023. - A guard that is shifty and is able to make his presence felt with his ball-handling ability. Finds ways to get his shot off effectively & also is able to drive to the basket. Has good eyes on the defensive end, as he is able to get steals to get downcourt.

 

Eric Acker 6-1, Point Guard, Eagle Academy II, Curry Crib, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to create for himself off the and is able to score in multiple ways. Has the ability to shoot from three-point range & has a good shot selection. Has the ability to showcase his athleticism, as he is able to go to the rim & finish.

 

Tywan Evans 5-7, Point Guard, Thomas Jefferson High School Campus, Curry Crib, Class of 2023 - A guard that has plenty of court vision and awareness of when his teammates are on the move. Has a knack for getting to the basket with his quickness & his will for getting to the hold. Is able to set his teammates up for passes that can lead to baskets.

 

Tristan Davis 5-9, Point Guard, Thomas Jefferson High School Campus, Curry Crib, Class of 2025 - A guard who is very crafty with the ball and uses his quickness to get downcourt with ease. Has the ability to swipe the ball from the opposition and get on the fast break. Has the ability to shoot from the top of the key & is able to finish at the basket easily.
