By James Barrett @HooprecruiterNY

Recruit the Bronx was on hand to take a look at some of the top talent in Staten Island at The 2017 Staten Island High School League Thanksgiving Showcase. Here is a list of our top prospects this weekend.

Chris Ledlum 2019 6’6 Forward St Peters - Big body nice touch on his jump shot from mid range and 3, decent athlete, doesn’t go inside and rebound enough for his size.

Kaleb Hicks 2018 6’7 Forward St Peters - Quick first step when driving right, soft mid range shot that can extend out to 3. Work horse down low, goes after every offensive rebound. Has to get stronger and develop his handle.

Jordan Fox 2018 6’2 Shooting Guard St Peters - Undersized shooter, really good stroke from 3, has a good one or two dribble pull up, can’t really create his own shot, decent handle.

Chris Clancy 2019 6’1 Point Guard St Peters - Solid PG, decent jumpshot, does a really good job of running the team. Has to slim down a bit to maximize his athleticism.

Kyle Felix 2018 6’3 Forward Moore Catholic Strong Body, Very undersized for his position, good finisher around the basket, basic post moves.

Christopher Velasquez 2018 5’10 Point Guard Moore Catholic - Crafty floor general, good decision maker, good mid range shot, decent speed.

Mario Scarcella 2018 5’9 Guard Moore Catholic - Good 3 Point Shooter when open plays hard, has to get better handling the basketball.

Joseph McCoy 2018 5’10 Point Guard Tottenville - Tough, Strong guard, has a good mid range pull up. Plays hard, needs to increase his speed in the open court.

Joseph Delgado 2018 6’4 Forward Tottenville - Good touch on 3 point shot, decent rebounder. Has to increase his foot speed and handle.

Devin Nicholson 2018 6’2 Point Guard St Joes SI - Solid Point Guard with a high IQ,  floor general, leader of the team.  Decent 3 point shooter really good mid range game.

Michael Mokwuah 2018 6’5 Forward St Joes SI - Athletic forward that plays extremely hard. Doesnt really have an arsenal of moves but he can make the short jump hook.

Gerard Nicholson 2020 5’8 Point Guard St Joes SI - Gerard is the younger brother of Devin, you can tell that things are being set up for him to take over the reigns from his brother. Devin was hurt yesterday and Gerard stepped right in and looked very comfortable. He shoots the 3 well, has a good handle, and can run a team for a young guy.

Johnathan Badmus 2018 6’3 Guard Wagner - Decent handle, doesn’t play hard all the time, limited perimeter jump shot, has good size and strength.

Will Edwards 2018 6’2 Point Guard Monsignor Farrell - Really good basketball IQ, does a great job of running his team, makes the right decisions. Not really a great athlete and he isn’t a marksman from 3, but he gets to where he wants to on the court.

Malik Martin 2018 6’4 Guard Curtis - Mr.  Do it all. Top player on Staten Island and one of the top players in the PSAL. Martin does a bit of everything for the Warriors. He has gotten better handling the ball, his 3 point shot needs improvement but he can hit it when open, doesn’t have a problem getting to his spots and he is a strong finisher. He’s coming off a knee injury so he is playing at about 70% right now. It will be very scary once he gets to 100%

Adelaye Oyekanmi 2019 6’3 Wing Curtis -  Undersized Wing, decent athleticism, plays hard, has a very strong body, decent jump shot, quick first step and he can defend multiple positions. He has to work on his left hand to take his game to another level.

Kalique Mitchell 2019 6’4 Guard MSIT - Mitchell is a crafty guard that can get to the basket with a variety of moves. He has to work on being able to knock down the open 3 consistently but he can pretty much get wherever he wants on the floor.

Jamahl Humbert 2018 6’4 Guard MSIT - Athletic guard with good handles that is strong getting to the rim. Has to work on his decision making and consistency from 3. Does a good job of getting the team out in transition.

Keysean Faulkner-Smith 2018 6’8 MSIT - Brother of Keion Smith one of the MVP’s of The Unsigned Hype Senior Games, Smith is a high flyer that makes it very difficult for the opposing teams to get their shots off comfortably. He has a soft shot and does a good job of rebounding. The biggest knock on Smith is that he has to play with a high level of intensity on a more consistent basis.

Roberto Molina 2018 6’4 MSIT - Junkyard dog. Molina does a variety of things for McKee. He can knock down the open 3,  rebounds well , he also takes on the responsibility of guarding the best player on the opposing teams.
