The Taft School a co-educational boarding and day school of about 600 students, 9th grade through post grads in Litchfield County, CT. Operating since 1890, the school has a tradition of excellence in education. It boys basketball program competes in the NEPSAC A Division (large school) and the Founders League and Tri-State conferences.

 

Veteran head coach Shavar Bernier once again has assembled a collection of high academic student athletes that will draw the colleges to their Open Gyms this fall.

 

Dara Adeyemi (2023) 6’7, 230lb, power forward/center - Adeyemi can play with his back to the basket and from the elbow. He can play DHO and pass to cutters. He has a good motor and rebounds out of his position. Dara is a flawless student with high test scores. 2021-22 HUDL highlights

 

Vule Sukovic (2023) 6’5, guard - In addition to a high basketball IQ, Vule strengths are shooting from both 3 and the mid range. He makes pull-ups, floaters and sound decisions out of the ball screen. He is a crafty finisher around the basket. Vule has a 3.5gpa. 2022 NEPSAC Showcase highlights

 

Jordan Elliott (2024)  6’3, guard - Elliot is a high IQ player that is fast with the ball in his hands. Jordan excels in transition as well as in isolation situations. Jordan is skilled and smart enough to play any guard spot. He is a tenacious defender who has an elite compete level. 3.5gpa. 2021-22 highlights

 

RJ Bennett (2024) 6’3 guard - Bennett is a high level athlete in all ways; speed, agility and bounce. RJ is a relentless defender and competitor. He makes a catch and shoot 3, while being able to drive by most. His athletic ability makes him a good finisher. He is a budding playmaker in the ball screen with an unselfish streak.


Jacob Lucas (2024) 6’4 guard - Lucas is an elite shooter with a quick release who makes good decisions. Jake is growing into a playmaker with the ball in his hands while gaining strength to become a good finisher. Jake has grown and improved his body and athleticism in the last 6 months. Jake is a strong student who excels in the classroom. 2021-22 highlights

 

Max Fradkin (2024) 5’9 point guard - Fradkin is a true lead guard with grit and toughness. Max makes open 3s and bothers the opponent’s lead guards with his tenacity on defense. He is a savvy playmaker and one who hunts the right play. 2021-22 highlights


Ozzie Diallo (2025) 6’3 guard - Diallo makes 3’s in bunches. Ozzy competes and works hard on both his body and his game. He is unselfish and puts winning the game above all else. Ozzie is a good athlete with much room to improve.

 

Jeremiah Ibeziako (2025) 6’7 wing - Ibeziako has a 6’11 wingspan with high major potential. Jeremiah is a fluid athlete who has rhythm and touch to his game. Video highlights
