Our Saviour Lutheran Open Gym 9/13/22
On Tuesday, September 13, RecruitTheBronx.com joined a slew of college coaches in a visit to the Morris Park section of The Bronx for the Open Gym at Our Saviour Lutheran High School, as the players kicked off their fall season. The college coaches were checking out players on both the National squad and the Post Grad squad. Here are the standouts:
Youssouf Singare 7-0, Center, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to showcase his strengths on the floor, due to his large frame. Is able to make his presence felt in the low post, as he is great at blocking shots and grabbing rebounds. Has the ability to not only play above the rim on the offensive end, but also has a nice hook shot.
Seydou Traore 6-5, Forward, Class of 2023 - A forward that provides plenty of hustle when on the court and is a great asset to his team whenever he plays. Is very active on the boards, as he uses his strength to make his presence felt and beat out the opposition to get the ball. Is able to muscle his way to the basket to score. Is also able to put the ball on the floor when on offense.
Jameel Morris 6-2, Shooting Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to take over a game whenever he’s on the floor. Is a competitor that is driven to win when on the court and is valued asset to his teammates. Has plenty of athletic ability, as he loves to drive to the basket and will go up for a dunk and goes to the basket strong.
Armoni Ziegler, 6-4 Shooting Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that provides plenty of energy when on the floor and is a player that also brings toughness on the court. Has the ability to provide plenty of scoring when on the floor, as he loves to drive to the basket. Has excellent court vision when he has the ball in his hands and knows when to dish the ball to his teammates and when to drive.
Jahmere Tripp 6-6, Forward, Class of 2023- A forward that is a force for his team when he’s on the floor. Is able to put the ball on the floor and can make drives when on the offensive end. Has the ability to muscle his way to the basket and is able to absorb physical contact as a way to get to the hole and draw fouls to get to the basket.
Ty-laur Johnson 6-0, Point Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to control his team when he is on the floor and is a very shifty player. Knows when & where to distribute the ball to his teammates at the right moments. Has the ability to get his shot off when he has the right opportunity.
Skyler Winick 6-0, Point Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a slick handle and is very fearless when on the court. Has excellent court vision and is able to distribute the ball to his teammates at the right moments. Is able to attack the basket and is able to make strong drives to the hole.
Michael Mendez 6-7, Forward, Class of 2023 - A forward that has the ability to hold his own when on the court. With his height, he is able to back down his opponent and is able to drive past them every time he goes to the lane. Is able to kick the ball to his teammates and has plenty of versatility in his game.
Ryan Williams, Jr. 6-5, Shooting Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that is very smart and is able to make his presence felt when he’s on the floor. Has the ability to score in multiple ways and has a nice frame that allows him to obtain rebounds. Likes to run downcourt and is able to play above the rim, showcasing his athletic ability.
Isaiah Philbert 6-0, Point Guard, Class of 2023 - A guard that has ability to make plenty of shots whenever he’s on the floor. Is able to find a way to get free on the floor. Has a great shot selection and has the ability to drive to the basket when on the floor. Has the ability to pass the ball when he is being double-teamed or guarded heavily.
Edwin Daniel 6-8, Forward, Class of 2023 - A forward that has a penchant for playing strong in the low post and is an asset to his team when in the paint. Has good hands that aid him in getting rebounds and hold his own in the low-post. Has the ability to muscle his way to the basket and will impose his will on the opposition.
