2022 The Preview Standouts
On Saturday afternoon, October 9, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to the Gauchos Gymnasium in the South Bronx for The Preview, an annual preseason high school showcase put together by Eleve11 Hoops, in which teams from the tri-state area came out to compete. There were plenty of gems in the gym playing for their respective teams. Here are the standouts from Saturday’s games:
Don Colon-Lewis 6-5, Forward, Xaverian High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that has great hands and a wide body that allows him to hold his own in the low post. Has great footwork and has the ability to make smooth steps when driving to the basket. Has a penchant for shooting from three-point range.
Daouda Cisse 6-5, Forward, James Monroe High School Campus, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to play both on the inside and on the perimeter. Has a penchant for being a transition and pressure defensive player. Has the ability to cause turnovers on the perimeter with his length and get rebounds. Loves to play above the rim when going up for two.
Anthony Graziano 6-6, Forward, St. Joseph by the Sea High School, Class of 2023 - A strong physical forward who can score through contact and with a soft touch. Is very active on the defensive end with great hands for rebounding through traffic. Continues to work on stretching the defense with his outside game. Is a player who can run the floor and start the break on his own.
Anthony Gilkes 6-6, Point Guard, The Patrick School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has plenty of size and plays with good poise and has decent speed. Is able to finish at the rim, shows that he has the ability to hit a jumper. Has the ability to see where his teammates are moving so that he can give his teammates the ball and can put them in position to score.
Kalifa Outtara 6’6, Shooting Guard, Murry Bergtraum High, Class of 2023 - A forward that has the ability to bring energy to his team. Is a very athletic player that has the ability to obtain rebounds and get to the rim on the offensive end. Is able to do plenty of things on the floor. Is a great defensive presence, as he is able to get steals and start a fast break.
Jayden Lau 5-11, Shooting Guard, Murry Bergtraum High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that brings plenty of energy and is always alert on the floor. Always looks to get open so that he can get his shot off from three-point range. Always looks to stick with his man on the defensive end, as he is alert for steals.
Kaelen Destin 5-11, Point Guard, WHEELS, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of energy on the floor, as he is able to provide his teammates with much-needed opportunities to score. When his shot isn’t falling, he does not only rely on shot selection, but he is also able to give his teammates the ball in the right situations. Has the ability to drive to the basket and is very fearless.
Diogo Perez 6-1, Shooting Guard, WHEELS, Class of 2023 - A guard that is great at attacking the basket and can make plenty of plays on the court. Has the ability to command the ball and can create opportunities for himself to score. Has great defensive tendencies and is able to obtain steals and can run on the fast break to get to the basket. Has a penchants for getting his shot off efficiently.
Kassius Paulin 6-4, Small Forward, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to give his teammates the ability to get out on a fast break, due to his rebounding ability. Has plenty of toughness and is a force in the post area that can put the ball on the floor. Has a penchant to drive to the basket with ease or has the ability to shoot from the perimeter.
Kenny Fields 6-0, Point Guard, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has the ability to make sure that his teammates are afforded the opportunity to score at the right moments. Is able to showcase his abilities to shoot from long range and is able to drive to the basket.
Sincere Folk 5-9 oint Guard, Archbishop Molloy High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that is very crafty and is the ability to create for himself off the dribble. Has the ability to stay with his man at all times on the defensive end and can make his presence felt. Can make tough plays when driving to the basket and is able to absorb contact when he’s on the floor.
Jayden James 6-3, Shooting Guard, Archbishop Molloy High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that provides plenty of energy at all times when on the floor. Likes to run on the fast break and can make plenty of athletic plays when on the court. Has a penchant for driving to the basket and can shoot from the perimeter. Is also a good passer and will set up his teammates for opportunities to score.
Emmanuel Ikioda 6-4, Forward, Archbishop Molloy High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that has the ability to make his presence felt on both ends of the court. Has a penchant for obtaining rebounds on both ends of the court and is able to put the ball on the floor at all times. Is fearless when absorbing contact when It comes going up for a basket.
