2022 Staten Island Thanksgiving Eve Classic Standouts

On November 23, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to the College of Staten Island for the 65th annual Thanksgiving Eve Basketball Classic, which is a major rivalry game between two of the borough’s biggest rivals in Curtis High School and St. Peter’s Boys High School. This game early on was very competitive, but St. Peter’s would go on to pull away with the victory, 48-30. Here are the standouts from the game:


Michael Spisto 5-8, Point Guard, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has plenty of quickness in his game and has excellent IQ as a floor general. Finds ways to get his teammates involved and has a penchant for obtaining steals and getting to the basket. Is fearless when it comes to going to the basket and does not hesitate when it comes to scoring opportunities.


Qadir Martin 6-6, Forward,St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2024 - A forward with a long wingspan that is able to impose his will on the opposition. Is able to use his physicality to muscle his way to the basket and is great at using his athleticism, especially when it comes to scoring. Has the ability to block shots and obtain rebounds at a fast rate. Brings plenty of energy to his team every time he steps on the court.


Jalen Munson 5-11 Point Guard, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has a penchant for creating for himself on the perimeter and controlling the tempo of the game. Is able to drive past the opposition and score with ease, but can also dish the ball to his teammates in the right places when necessary.


Alex Chi 6-2, Shooting Guard, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that has a penchant for doing big things on the offensive end. Is a player that is a consistent shooter from three-point range, and can do damage when left open. Is able to drive to the basket and is able to absorb contact and get to the free throw line.


Steven Bradley 6-3, Small Forward, St. Peter’s High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that is able to do plenty of things on the court for his team and brings plenty of hustle on the court. Has the ability to grab rebounds and get to the other end of the court quickly. Is able to knock down shots when needed, especially from three.


Mohamed Sarr 6-7, Forward, Curtis High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that has the ability to make crucial blocks and has the ability to make his presence felt In the low-post due to his size. When at the basket, he has a nice, soft touch when scoring and can make his presence felt at the rim.


Josiah Mitchener 6-0, Point Guard, Curtis High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is very crafty and sets the tone for his team when he steps out on the floor. Knows how to get his teammates involved and knows where to hit them with passes. Uses his quickness to drive to the basket and is fearless when going into the lane.


Alonzo Archbold 6-6, Forward, Curtis High School, Class of 2026 - A forward that has great footwork and has the ability to be very active on the boards. Is good at setting screens for his teammates so that they could score. Is fearless when it comes to contact, as he is able to go up strong when it come to scoring in the low post.


Jack Gordon, 6-5, Forward, Curtis High School, Class of 2023 -A forward that has the ability to do plenty on the floor, as he is able to create for himself when he has the ball in his hands. Is able to step up and get clutch rebounds for his team, especially when it is needed. Has the ability to hit clutch jumpers for his teammates when on the perimeter or from 15 feet.


Zachariah Belton, 5-10, Shooting Guard, Curtis High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that is very quick on the floor and uses his speed as a way to get to the basket with ease. Has the opportunity to play strong defense, as he can force turnovers on the opposition at a fast rate. Will look to get open as a way to score and when heavily covered will kick it out to his teammates as a way to score.
