2018 The Weekend Showcase Top Performers

This Saturday, Recruit the Bronx traveled to Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey, for the third annual “The Weekend” event, where high school teams from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, battled it out in front of numerous college coaches on the Division I, Division II or Division III levels, respectively in order to attain an athletic scholarship. Here are the notable players that stood out this weekend.


Nnanna Njoku 6-9, Forward, Sanford School (DE), Class of 2021 - Big forward that is physically imposing. Knows how to move around in the paint. Very strong.


Neal Quinn 6-10, Center, Ramapo High School (NJ), Class of 2019 -A forward that is very imposing. Needs to be careful with hands, for he will easily be called for
fouls.


Devin Harris 6-7, Forward, Sanford School (DE), Class of 2020 - A forward that has good movement, good size. Moves well without the ball. Good shot-blocking ability. Has a good floater when in the lane.


Naji Wright 6-7, Forward, Wildwood Catholic High School (NJ), Class of 2020 - Has athletic ability. Has a nice build. Has good versatility. Needs to develop a jumper.


Eddie Evans Jr. 6-3, Guard, Trenton Catholic Academy (NJ), Class of 2020 - Has a good jumper. Is good for getting steals. A player that can score the ball when needed.


Khalif Battle 6-5, Shooting Guard, Trenton Catholic Academy (NJ), Class of 2019 - Is efficient at getting to the basket. Has a good jumper from long range. Good defender. Has a lot of explosion.


Jamir Watkins 6-6, Forward, Trenton Catholic Academy (NJ), Class of 2020 - Good for scoring and facilitating. Jumper needs improvement. Good at attacking the basket.


Isaiah Johnson-Williams 6-2, Don Bosco Preparatory School (NJ), Class of 2020 - A player with a long wingspan. Needs to add more muscle to his frame. Finds ways to get to the basket.


Ryan McKeon 6-6, Forward, Sanford School (DE), Class of 2019 - Is very athletic. Very versatile for his size. Has athleticism.


Luis Kortright  6-3, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School (NY), Class of 2020 - A player that gets to the basket. Has to be quicker on the defensive end. Shows ability to tip in or corral a rebound.


Dior Davis 5-10, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School (NY), Class of 2021 - Small player that goes to the hole often. Has good court vision. Quick on defense.


Anthony Dunbar 6-3, Forward, Paterson Eastside High School (NJ), Class of 2019 - A player that knows how to box out for rebounds. Goes to the hole for baskets. Powerful in the low post, despite skinny frame.


Gody Jeannys 5-11, Point Guard, Paterson Eastside High School (NJ), Class of 2019 - A muscular player that knows how to battle in the post for rebounds. Good at making jumpers. Needs to be stronger when taking it to the basket.


Kentrell Hodges 5-9, Point Guard, Paterson Eastside High School (NJ), Class of 2019 - A player that can shoot from long range. Good at controlling a team. Needs to attack the baskets more.


Jaquan Carlos 5-11, Point Guard, Thomas Jefferson High School (NY), Class of 2021 - Good at attacking the basket. Great at reading defenses. Great at facilitating to teammates.


Shadir Franklin 6-6, Forward, Paterson Kennedy High School (NJ), Class of 2018 - Goes to the basket with reckless abandon. Plays tough defense. Great at rebounding and being an enforcer.


Jae’waun Abrams 5-8, Point Guard, Paterson Kennedy High School (NJ), Class of 2021 - A versatile player with a long wingspan. Knows how to work around the basket.


Tahron Allen 6-3 Shooting Guard, St. Raymond High School (NY), Class of 2021 - Has a good frame. A deadly three-point shooter from long range. Runs well across the floor.


Smith Vilbert 6-7, Forward, St. Joseph-Montvale High School (NJ), Class of 2019 - A powerful presence on the court. Has a lot of strength. Great at tracking down rebounds. Needs to finish more at the basket.
