Capital Preparatory Harbor School is a Social Justice Charter School based in Bridgeport,CT. The mission of Capital Preparatory Schools, which also includes programs in Hartford, Ct and a Sean Sean “Diddy Combs” sponsored school in Harlem, NY., is to provide historically disadvantaged students with the college and career readiness skills needed to become responsible and engaged citizens for social justice.


Capital Prep Harbor boys basketball team is a new member of the Charter School Athletic Association of NY (CSAA) but it also plays a schedule that includes enough New England prep schools to have earned a top 50 ranking amongst them this season. In only his fourth season, Head Coach Roderick Henderson has already built something special. The team finished 2022 with a 6-1 record and a third place finish in the Kingsford Oxford Invitational, only losing to the NEPSAC Class B powerhouse host team.

 

Here are the player profiles on the 2022-23 Capital Prep Harbor School Sharks:

 

Morgan Owens (2023) 5’8 guard - Owens is a playmaker, facilitator and capable shot maker. He is also the school’s top cross country runner.


Akil Young (2023) 5’10 guard - Young is a slasher, who also plays well in transition. He provides a change of pace on offense and tough defensive pressure at the other end.


Jaden Garvey (2023) 6’3 small forward -  Garvey is a slasher, who also has a s trong mid-range game. His is a good shooter off the dribble and can catch and shoot from 3 point range. Garvey is also a very good rebounder.


Davon Eady (2023) 5’11 small forward - Eady is the team’s “glue guy”. His a great teammate, communicator on defense, and guards multiple positions.


Kareem Roseboro (2023) 5’10 small forward - Roseboro is an athletic wing with an improved jump shot.

Ray Martin Jr. (2023) 6’1 forward - Martin adds rebounding and interior defense to this year’s team.


Jacob Henderson (2024) 6’1 guard - Henderson has a high basketball IQ,  i.e., he plays winning basketball. He is a three year starter,  a playmaker, a facilitator, a lock-down defender, and can defend multiple positions. He rebounds and controls the tempo. Henderson is a 3 level scorer, who has improved his range this season, to go along with his ability to finish in traffic.  3.7 gpa


Edward Williams (2024) 6’3 guard - Williams is an explosive athlete who can defend multiple positions. He plays bigger than he is listed.  He is a slasher with improved range and the ability to score at all three levels. 3.7 gpa


Joshua Daniels (2024) 6’0 guard - Daniels is an explosive athlete who can finish with creativity around the basket. He is an improving shooter from the perimeter. Daniels has the ability to guard 1 through 4 on the defensive end.
