2023 DTX Red 17u Team College Prospects

DTX Basketball is a Connecticut based grass roots program that has over the years become a deep source of college prospects. The program is run by Dave Taylor, with assistance from college placement guru, Noel Roman. Roman was recently named a College Placement All Star for his work on behalf of getting his players placed onto college teams. The program runs its practices out of the three court, InSports Center facility in Trumbull.

They run multiple high school aged teams, the following players will be on their Red team that will compete on the Zero Gravity XL circuit this season:


Brian Elmo Jr (2024) 6’0 point guard, Trumbull High (CT) - Elmo can shoot and defend at a high level, specializes in on-ball defense. A solid ball handler under pressure can create his own shot and facilitate for teammates. Solid stamina plays 94 feet and constantly moves without the ball. 4.0 gpa


Najimi George (2024) 6’3 guard, Kolbe Cathedral High (CT) - 3 Level Scorer.  George is long and athletic and plays above the rim.  He’s able to defend multiple positions at a high level and continues to expand his game.  He finished the winter season as one of the best CIAC players in the state of Connecticut, with a brighter future ahead of him as a potential scholarship player. 3.3 gpa


Jack Plesser (2024) 6’4 wing, Fairfield Warde High (CT) - Recently named Conference MVP and Coaches Association All State player as a junior, Plesser is a quick guard who uses his length and reach to his advantage. Plessesr can get to the rim quickly and finish strong. He uses his motor to get down the court; he can pull up on a dime for floaters in the lane, knock down mid-range jumpers and stretch the floor with three-pointers. A strong defender, he regularly blocks shots. An aggressive rebounder on both sides of the court.  A must-watch high academic target! 4.4 gpa


Tommy Scholl (2024) 6’3 wing, Fairfield Prep High (CT) - Recently named by the Coaches Association as an All State player as a junior, Scholl is a wing who plays bigger than his size.  He is primarily played at the shooting guard and small forward. Scholl is a strong 3-point shooter and can defend the post and grab rebounds at a high rate. Winning intangibles on the court: taking charges, defending pick-n-roll with a hard hedge and recover. Strong, hard work ethic both on and off the court. An exceptional teammate with the most incredible attitude and leads by example. 3.5 gpa

 

Brandon Fowler (2024) 6’1 point guard, Trumbull High (CT) - Fowler relentlessly pushes the ball up the court and creates open looks for teammates. Solid rebounder for the size and guards’ bigger players.  He uses his quickness and shot-making ability to score in the paint and behind the arc. He’s a gym rat! 3.4 gpa


David Melson (2025) 6’4 shooting guard, Cushing Academy (MA) - Melson can shoot off the catch, off of screens, and on the move. He can create his own shot and uses his floater with efficiency. At 6’4, he can post up smaller guards and take out bigger players to the perimeter.  Good help side defensive instincts. Reliable teammate and a gym rat. 3.8 gpa


Sean Racette (2023) 6’3 point guard, Trumbull High (CT) - A Wentworth Institute of Technology commit. Racette has terrific court vision, and can handle on-ball pressure.  He plays on both sides of the ball. He’s able to guard 3 positions and can light up the scoreboard when needed. He uses his basketball IQ to make winning plays, has the shot-making ability to score in the paint and behind the arc. Is very competitive. 3.4 gpa


Ben Miller (2025) 6’0 point guard, Hamden Hall Country Day School (CT) - An exceptional shooter from anywhere on the court. Miller can make plays off the bounce for his teammates. He is an elite 3-level scorer who can get a bucket for the team when needed.  He gets teammates involved throughout the game. Excellent in transition. Gritty tough defender and the definition of a gym rat. 3.6 gpa


Rollins Youte (20230 6’2 guard Bridgeport Central High (CT) - Youte is an aggressive athletic guard that defends point guards and wings at a high level. He is a solid rebounder. His team defense excels because he had the speed to recover from the weak side.  On offense, he attacks the basket and finishes at the rim, and he has a solid mid range game.
