Nassau Pride Hoops, founded in 2013, is a Long Island-based grass roots basketball organization offered for boys and girls of multiple age brackets. Their more experienced teams will compete in many of the top tournaments in the Tri-state area. While the Pride develops enhanced skillsets, they also place a great emphasis on teaching teamwork. 


For 17u play, Coach Anthony Diaz and assistant coach, Juliano Camporini have put together a 2023 17u team that has size, height, athleticism and depth, as profiled below. Coach Diaz has developed a reputation for his team playing a “fast” attacking offense with an arsenal of knock down shooters sprayed around the arc.


#1 Chris Welling (2024) 6’3 small forward, St Anthony’s High - Welling is a versatile forward who is active on and off the ball. He is also a great passer and can finish at the basket

 

#5 Cody Brush (2024) 6’3 small forward, Division High - Brush is a forward with three point range and physical defensive skills.


#9 Randz Rionda (2024) 6’1 small forward, Massapequa High - Rionda is a rugged forward who doesn’t mind doing the dirty work, great high post passer with pick and roll skills


#11 Trevor Amalfitano (2024) 6’3 small forward, Port Washington High - Amalfitano is a multi-skilled player who relishes the opportunity to guard the opposing team’s best player, but can also beat you multiple ways on offense.

 

#12 Jayden Diaz (2024) 6’0 point guard, Bethpage High - Diaz is a slasher who can get into the lane and finish at the rim along with three point range, high motor energy with speed being the key to his game. 3.3 gpa


#13 Robby Mauer (2024) 5’9 point guard, Bay Port Blue Point High - Mauer is a smart defender with an ability to knock down shots and does the little things to help the team be successful.


#17 Guiliano Camporini (2024) 5’8 guard, Massapequa High - Camporini is a confident floor general who isn’t afraid to knock down the big shot or beat his man off the dribble to score or make the right pass.


#21 Kam Elliott (2024) 5’9 shooting guard, Chaminade High - Elliott is the definition of a knock-down shooter, but who can also take his man off the dribble and get to the basket.

 

#29 Jesse Tricario (2024) 6’6 forward, Great Neck South High - Tricario is a big man with great footwork around the basket and rebounding skills


#30 Kyle Joe (2024) 5’8 shooting guard, St Mary’s High - Joe is a gritty guard with outstanding range who can knock it down from deep with ease.


#50 Reginald Pierre (2024) 6’5 forward, West Islip High - Pierre is an athletic forward with a 6’ 11” wingspan that can play above the rim and get physical around the basket.
