2023 Academic Basketball Club 17u Krumins College Prospects
The Academic Basketball Club is a Fairfield (CT) and Westchester (NY) County grassroots program focused on working with student athletes with a minimum gpa of 3.0. The program has earned renown for its impressive consistently high level of placement of its layers into top academic universities. ABC plays in tournaments throughout the Northeast, encourages its players to attend selected camps at the top academic universities and then plays as a Team at the Academic Basketball Camps at Babson College (MA) in and Pomona College (CA) in June.
The program was founded by Harvey Rubin. He and his long term coaching partner, Paul Krumins each run a team each spring. Below are the layers on the 2023 ABC Krumins team.
#1 Ryan Torello (2025) 6’3 point guard, Fairfield Ludlowe High (CT) - Super high IQ point guard. Controls tempo, can get to the rim. 3.8 gpa
#5 Emmet Regan (2026) 6’1 point guard, Newtown High (CT) - Keep an eye on this kid. IQ off the charts, exceptionally coordinated young point guard. Old soul in a young body. 4.0 gpa
#15 Brody Bowser (2024) 6’0 point guard, Taft School (CT) - Lightning quick, uncommonly athletic point guard. Relentless on ball defender. Gets to the rim. 4.0 gpa
#21 Scottie Conopask (2025) 6’3 wing, Fairfield Ludlowe High (CT) - Blossoming scoring guard. Shoots it. Can defend multiple positions. 3.8 gpa
#24 Tyler Ofiero (2025) 6’2 wing, New Canaan High (CT) - High IQ at both ends. Excellent on ball and help defender. 3.2 gpa
#25 Jacob “Jake” Lucas (2024) 6’4 wing, Taft School (CT) - Very skilled combo guard. Unlimited range. High IQ. Rugged. 3.8 gpa
#31 Charlie Mahoney (2025) 6’4 wing, Fairfield Ludlowe High (CT) - Diamond in the rough. Long wing player that shoots a high percentage. Defends.4.0 gpa
#32 Simeon Doll (2023) 6’3 wing, Darien High (CT) (Denison University commit) 3.0 gpa
#35 Tate Mahoney (2024) 6’4 wing, Fairfield Ludlowe High (CT) - Long, athletic, long range shooter. 4.0 gpa
#43 Declan Regan (2024) 6’6 forward, Newtown High (CT) - Skilled, coordinated Big that runs the floor, rebounds and scores easily. Outstanding passer. 3.5 gpa
