2023 Aces Elite Classic Top Performers

On May 10, we returned to the famous Gauchos Gym in The Bronx for the ACES Elite Classic. This event had many of the premier players in the Tri-State area face off. Many of the best showed out, here are the standouts that we noted:

Devin Vanterpool 6-3, Shooting Guard, Christ the King High School, Class of 2023 (Florida Atlantic University commit)- A guard that has plenty of toughness in his game and is fearless every time he goes to the basket. Is able to use his athleticism to get to the hole and can attack in transition. Has plenty of confidence in his game and is always ready to take on the opposition at every turn.

Ian Jackson 6-6, Shooting Guard, Cardinal Hayes High School, Class of 2024 (University of North Carolina commit) - A guard that is able to do plenty of things with the ball on the court. Is able to attack in transition and has a nice jumper from long range and is able to distribute the ball to his teammates when they are streaking towards the basket. Is a player that is able to throw down highlight-reel dunks on the break.

Brandon Williams 6-8, Forward, Christ the King High School, Class of 2023 (UCLA commit) - A forward that has the ability to make smooth drives to the basket and is able to use his strength while on the break. Has a penchant for muscling his way to the basket and can finish strong when going up for two. Is able to dish the ball to his teammates when they are on the move towards the basket.

Tahaad Pettiford 6-1, Point Guard, Hudson Catholic High School (NJ), Class of 2024 - A guard that has plenty of quickness and loves to play in a fast-paced offense. Is a player that likes to showcase his athleticism when going to the basket, but can also shoot from the top of the key or from three-point range. Has great hands on the defensive end, as he has the ability to obtain steals, which could turn into offensive opportunities for his team.

Youssouf Singare 7-0, Forward, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Class of 2023 (UCONN commit) - A forward that is able to put the ball on the floor and loves to run down court on the fast break. Is able to showcase his athleticism superbly, as he looks to throw down powerful dunks in the low post. If he can’t dunk, he will use his powerful frame and muscle his way to the hole & finish with strength.

Simeon Wilcher 6-4, Point Guard, Roselle Catholic High School (NJ), Class of 2023 (University of North Carolina commit)- A guard that has the ability to drive in transition and is a great playmaker on the offensive end. Has superb athleticism, which he uses to his advantage when going to the basket. Has a nice shooting touch, which he goes to when the opportunity presents itself.

Jahmere Tripp 6-6, Forward, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Class of 2023 (Fordham University commit)- A forward that has plenty of versatility in his game and is able to step in and outside of the lane. Is able to put the ball on the floor and is able to finish strong at the basket. Has a penchant for using his strength to obtain rebounds in the low post.

Elliot Cadeau 6-2, Point Guard, Link Academy (MO), Class of 2024 (University of North Carolina commit) - A guard with excellent court vision that has a penchant for finding his teammates when it comes to scoring opportunities. Has great timing when it comes to throwing lobs up for his teammates to throw down dunks. Has the ability to shoot from three-point range & also loves to drive to the basket. Is a great finisher when driving to the lane.

Brandon Gardner 6-8, Forward, Christ the King High School, Class of 2023 - A forward that has a penchant for making his presence felt in the front court. Uses his physicality to establish position and grab rebounds in the low post. Is able to finish strong when going up to score in the paint area.

Ty-Laur Johnson 6-0, Point Guard, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Class of 2023 (University of Memphis) - A guard that has the ability to be a playmaker on the floor. Is able to run an offense efficiently, especially when on the fast break. Is fearless when it comes to driving to the basket. Is able to showcase his athleticism, as he likes to throw down powerful dunks.
