2019 Entertainer’s High School Spring Classic

On Sunday afternoon, April 28, RecruitTheBronx.com made it out to Harlem’s Frederick Samuel Community Center for the first annual Entertainer’s High School Spring Classic, which showcases plenty of the best talent in the tri-state area. Here are the standouts from this weekend’s games:


Abou Wague, 6-5, Forward, Benjamin Banneker Academy, Star Athletes, Class of 2019 - Wague has plenty of finesse in his game and is a player that has plenty of strength. Has a lot of length and can dominate on both ends of the court with his size. Runs well on both ends of the court.


Michael Moore, 6-3, Point Guard, Lyons Community School, Star Athletes, Class of 2022 - Moore has plenty of good ball handling skills and can get to the basket easily. Slices and dices to the hole and is a tough matchup for the opposition. Someone that knows how to create plays for himself.


Kevin Dinkins, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Thurgood Marshall, Academy, Team Keynitt, Class of 2020 - Dinkins is a great defender that has quick hands which allow him to get steals. Good at getting to the basket to score. Struggles with shooting from long range but is always able to penetrate within the lane.


Mike Tetteh, 6-3, Forward, Cardinal Hayes High School, Team Keynitt, Class of 2020 - Tetteh has plenty of physical strength and loves to bang in the paint. Is great at absorbing physical contact and is uses his strength to grab rebounds and block shots.


Stephon Roberts, 6-9, Forward, Medgar Evers Preparatory School, Star Athletes, Class of 2019 -Roberts has plenty of size and length, but runs the floor like a guard. Uses his long wingspan to try to force the opposition from having the ball and also can block shots and grab rebounds.


Arthur Dukes, 5-7, Point Guard, Thurgood Marshall Academy, Team Keynitt. Class of 2019 - Dukes can shoot at a high-volume from long range and is very alert on defense and causes the opposition to give up the ball for turnovers. Is very quick on offense when running up and down the floor.


Trent Lomax, 6-1, Shooting Guard, Eagle Academy-Harlem, Team Keynitt, Class of 2020 - Lomax has quick hands and is able to get to the basket easily. Sometimes struggles to finish consistently at the basket, but shows plenty of athleticism when going towards the rim. Is someone that has an affinity for scoring.


Samuel DeSouza, 6-5, Forward, The Storm King School, Star Athletes, Class of 2019 - DeSouza has plenty of size, and can put the ball on the floor and penetrate. Struggles with lack of speed, but makes up for it with effort on the floor. Also has the ability to step out and shoot from the outside.


Denys Bobchuk, 6-8, Forward, The Storm King School, Star Athletes, Class of 2019 - Bobchuk has plenty of length and is very alert on the defensive end when it comes to getting blocks and making his presence felt in the low-post area. Provides his team with good energy off the bench and does what is needed for his team to be effective on the floor.


Nick Johnson, 6-4, Shooting Guard, All Hallows High School, Debo All-Stars, Class of 2019 - Johnson is a big guard that likes to bring the ball up, but also finds ways to score and get to the basket. Great at posting up against guards that are smaller than him. Uses his ballhandling skills to glide past defenders on the way to the hole. Doesn’t hesitate to use his physicality against smaller defenders.


Dontae Walker, 6-5, Shooting Guard, Veritas Preparatory School (CA), Debo’s All-Stars, Class of 2020 - Walker is a guard that is physically imposing and possesses plenty of strength. Likes to run on the break and is good for getting a rebound and going down the court at full speed. Is a good passer and looks for teammates that are going towards the basket.


Taraun Donalson, 5-8, Point Guard, Wadleigh Secondary School, Debo’s All-Stars, Class of 2020 - Donalson is diminutive but is fearless when going to the hole. Always looks for teammates to pass him the ball and is always open at the right time.


Bryce Arroyo, 5-11, Shooting Guard, Samuel Gompers High School, CTA, Class of 2019 - A guard that specializes in shooting from long range. Is a solid defender and uses his hands to force the opposition into turning over the ball. Is great at getting to the basket and absorbing physical contact when it comes to getting an and-one.


Kobe Daniels, 6-3, Shooting Guard, Frederick Douglass Academy, CTA, Class of 2019 - Daniels has plenty of toughness when going to the hole and has a very quick first step on offense. Likes to run on the break and also has the ability to shoot from long range.


Dante Griffin, 6-4, Point Guard, Covenant College Preparatory School (NJ), Debo’s All-Stars, Class of 2019 - Griffin is a good distributing the ball to his teammates and looks to pass at all times. Is a very unselfish player and doesn’t turn the ball over. Makes smooth moves to the basket.


Ahamadou Sillah 6-3, Shooting Guard, KIPP NYC School, Debo’s All-Stars, Class of 2019 - Sillah makes plenty of tough drives to the basket and is a good rebounder that will throw his teammates the outlet pass to get the offense started. Is good at shooting from long range.


Jimmy Romero, 6-3, Swing, LaSalle Academy, WT Athletics, Class of 2019 - Romero shows versatility by showcasing the ability to step out and shoot from three-point range. Has good instincts when it comes to passing and uses plenty of physicality in the paint. Shows the ability to outwork and outmuscle bigger opponents.


Jarrell White, 5-11, Edward Reynolds/West Side High School, WT Athletics, 2019 - White has plenty of quickness on both ends of the floor and is a good decision-maker when he has the ball in his hands. Is very quick when going to the basket and shows plenty of athleticism when going to the rim.


Maurice Odom, 6-1, Shooting Guard, Union High School (NJ), Class of 2022 - Odom is fearless when going to the basket and is a smart player that knows where he has to be at all times. Is a natural-born scorer and someone that has plenty of speed. Always looks to take the best shot and is able to get open for a pass that leads to a basket.


Mark Farley, 6-1, Shooting Guard, Wadleigh Secondary School, WT Athletics, Class of 2019 - Farley is an aggressive defender and has plenty of toughness when it comes to getting up to the basket and absorbing physical contact. Has a good wingspan and length and is a solid rebounder who can also block shots.
