2019 EYAC Beacon 158 Spring Fling Top Performers - Quarterfinals

On Thursday night, May 30, RecruitTheBronx.com made a return visit to the Beacon 158 Spring Classic in Bayside, Queens to check out the quarterfinals. Here are the standouts from this week’s action in the games between Cardozo and Stevenson and Eagle Academy and Deer Park:


Errol White, 6-6, Forward, Cardozo High School, Class of 2020 - White uses his muscular frame to get to the basket easily. Is solid at rebounding and loves to run up and down the floor on the fast break and has the affinity to play above the rim.


Aaron Miller, 6-5, Forward, Cardozo High School, Class of 2020 - Miller has length and athleticism and is great using his skills to be effective around the basket. Has good hands and is always alert on the defensive end and has great hands and is prone to blocking shots and rebounding in the low post. Has the ability to play above the rim and finds ways to score.


Andrew Lang, 6-0, Point Guard, Cardozo High School, Class of 2021 - Lang is lightning-quick and is great at decision-making, such as knowing when to shoot or pass. Has an affinity for driving to the basket. Sometimes struggles with being at the right place on the defensive end.


Nick Traill, 6-0, Shooting Guard, Valley Stream Central High School, Team Cardozo, Class of 2020 - Traill is good defender and a has a knack for shooting from long range. Shows an affinity for taking the ball to the basket and is fearless when going to the hole. Gives his team plenty of effort and energy.


Tyler Smith, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Cardozo High School, Class of 2021 - Smith is quick and deceptive and can play hard at both ends of the court. Has an affinity for shooting from long range and can hurt a team from long range. Loves to get to the basket and is fearless when going up for two.


Chamarri Baskerville, 6-1, Shooting Guard, Cardozo High School, Class of 2020 - A guard who is tough and hard-working on both ends of the court. Plays with plenty of energy and has a good shot from the outside. Also provides plenty of effort and energy. Despite his small frame, he has the ability to use his strong build to get to the basket.


O’Zhell Jackson, 6-7, Forward, Stevenson High School, Class of 2021 - Jackson has length and is very skilled when on the court. His versatility allows him to be able to do plenty of things on both ends of the court. Is a good rebounder and is great at handling the ball on the perimeter and has good passing instincts.


Elijah Perez, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Stevenson High School, Class of 2020 - Perez is known for scoring and always looks to create for himself. Is known to shoot from long range. Has a three-point shot that can be damaging to the opposition when he is not guarded heavily.


Rashawn Clemente, 6-3, Shooting Guard, Stevenson High School, Class of 2020 - A guard that is skilled and showcases plenty of athleticism, and is able to create for himself on the offensive end. Has a long wingspan, which allows him to rebound the ball. Always looks to score whenever he has an opportunity.


Kaden Norton, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Stevenson High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that is known for scoring and is able to create for himself and is a slasher that likes to get to the basket and can absorb physical contact when driving to the hole. Is good at shooting from long range.


Micah Coates, 6-4, Forward, Cardinal Hayes High School, Team Stevenson, Class of 2020 - Coates has the ability to run the floor while also handling the ball on the perimeter. Good at moving when off the ball and finds ways to be an asset on the defensive end.


Damarco Watson, 6-2, Point Guard, Eagle Academy, Class of 2020 - Watson is strong at making aggressive drives to the basket and can shoot from long range. Is a scorer that can take advantage of the opposition’s defense and exploit their weakness. Is fearless when going to the hole and plays tremendous defense.


Vernon Simmons, 6-3, Shooting Guard, Eagle Academy, Class of 2020 - Simmons has athletic ability and is fearless when going to the basket. Shows the ability to block shots and grab rebounds. Loves to run on the fast break and struggles with decision-making and defensive assignments.


Kwame Opoku, 6-4, Forward, Eagle Academy, Class of 2022 - Opoku has long arms and moves well around the low post. Also has plenty of strength when it comes to boxing out and also attacking the glass for rebounds. Has the ability to score in the low post.


Jaequan White, 6-4, Forward, Deer Park High School, Class of 2021 - White has plenty of length, which results in him getting rebounds and blocking shots in the low post. Shows plenty of athleticism on both ends of the court and also


D’Andre Edwards, 5-9, Point Guard, Deer Park High School, Class of 2021 - A guard who is an efficient playmaker who is great at hitting the open man, which translates to him getting assists. Is very quick and fearless when going to the basket. Despite his small frame, he is able to get to the hole easily and can absorb physical contact.


Malik Edmead, 5-9, Point Guard, Deer Park High School, Class of 2020 - Edmead can the pull-up for a jumper and is strong when going to the basket. Despite his small frame, he is very fearless when going to the hole. Is a great decision maker and also has good passing instincts.
