2019 New Haven Senior Showcase
The 2nd annual New Haven Senior Showcase brought a dozen D2 and D3 college recruiters from five different states to Amistad High School on September 29 to evaluate prospects. Several prep school coaches attended as well. The event was organized by @AmistadHoops and @NewHavenHeatFam .
Top Performers:
Kazell Stewart (6’5” SF, Prince Tech HS) - 18 pts 11 rebs. Super athletic rebounder and scorer/slasher who also knocked down outside shots.
Dionte Eady (6’0” PG, Jonathon Law HS) - 16 pts 3 rebs. Smooth, quick, smart, slashing PG. Poised in pick and roll situations.
Alexander Banas (6’8"PF, RHAM HS, Hebron, CT) - 13 pts 8 rebs. Big body. Strong rebounder. Agile for his size. Comfortable with back to basket and stepping out to face up.
Cincere Lash (6’3” G, Hillhouse HS) - 15 pts 10 rebs. Good slasher. Shot well from mid-range and behind the arc. Athletic defender. Smart player.
Javon Champman (5’11” G, Hamden HS) - 15 pts 3 rebs. Strong guard with nice jump shot. Effective with pick and roll actions. Made tough shots in the lane against contact.
Ta’zhon Daniels (5’9” PG, Hillhouse HS) - 12 pts 4 rebs. Quick PG with nice outside shot.
Damon Williams (6’1” G, NH Career HS) - 15 pts 9 rebs. Scored well around the rim with hustle points and a nose for the ball in the paint. Runs floor very well.
Other Notable Performances:
Kyle Hartley (6’3” SG, Amistad HS) - Very smooth lefty shooter with deep range. Knocked down multiple 3pt shots off the catch and off the bounce.
Jayleem Sayles (6’2” F, Wilbur Cross HS) - Strong rebounder and good mid-range shot. Runs the floor very well.
Shea Sheffield (6’1” G, West Haven HS) - Aggressive shooter with 11 pts.
Tahmeen Dupree (6’0” PG, New Britain HS) - Quick attacking PG with a strong handle.
