2019 Tru Ballaz Pre-Season Classic Top Performers - 10/8

On Tuesday, October 8, RecruitTheBronx.com got back to Frederick Douglass Academy III in the South Bronx for the Tru Ballaz Pre-High School Classic for the fourth time this fall. One this evening, as we got to see a game between Frecerick Douglass Academy III (PSAL) and Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School aka, WHEELS (PSAL). Here are the standouts from that game:


Sayvion Smith, 5-11, Point Guard, FDA III, Class of 2021 - Smith has a lot of intensity when on the court and is fearless when going to the basket. Despite his diminutive frame, he is not afraid of physical contact, and he is able to drive to the hole easily and can get to the free-throw line easily.


Delbert Andujar, 5-10, Point Guard, FDA III, Class of 2020 - Andujar likes to run in transition and can drive through the open lane. Although he is not much of a scorer, he is able to give the ball in the right spots in order to complete plays. Has a very high IQ and knows when and where to be at all times.


Kenneth Shippe, 6-1, Shooting Guard, FDA III, Class of 2023 - Shippe is a freshman who has a long wingspan and takes pride in his defense. He is good at getting steals. He is good at staying with his man on defense and is able to prevent his man from scoring when he has to.  He likes to run in the fast break and attacks when in transition, as he is able to get down the court in a hurry.


Adrohn Jaiteh, 5-11, Shooting Guard, FDA III, Class of 2021 - Jaiteh is quick on the floor and has the ability to absorb plenty of physical contact when going to the basket. He is a great defender that can read the opposition and can go for steals at all times.


Juan Rodriguez, 5-9, Point Guard, FDA III, Class of 2020 - Rodriguez likes to run in transition and is very quick and deceptive when he’s on the fast break. He is good at getting to the basket and can also pull up for a jumper.


Frank Pinales, 5-11, Shooting Guard, FDA III, Class of 2020 - Pinales likes to hustle and can make all the right plays when on the court. He finds ways to get to the basket and is alert for loose balls and can get to steals and is prone to playing strong defense on the opposition.


Jeremiah Davis, 5-9, WHEELS, Class of 2020 - Davis is good at being a true point guard and plays his position well. He is good at facilitating to his teammates by passing the ball and knows when to pass the ball and also when to take a good shot for himself. Has a very high IQ when he’s on the court.


Brian Burke, 6-6, Forward, WHEELS, Class of 2021 - Burke is very versatile and can put the ball on the floor. Finds ways at getting to his defender and scoring in transition. Is able to get to the basket easily and can attack the basket with quickness.


Jarlin Bello, 6-2, Shooting Guard, WHEELS, Class of 2021 - Bello is a good shooter and can attack the basket in multiple ways.He uses his strength to muscle into the basket when needed. He is also a good defender that is not afraid to stick with his man at all times.


Justin Soto, 5-10, Point Guard, WHEELS, Class of 2020 - Soto is very quick at getting from one point to the other on the court. He is good at penetrating to the lane and is great at slashing to the basket. Has the ability to shoot from long range.


Edwin Daniel, 6-6, Forward, WHEELS, Class of 2022 - Daniel is a forward that has plenty of toughness on the court and is able to attack the glass at all times. He has plenty of strength and is very solid when it comes to getting rebounds.
