2020 CHSAA AA Second Round Playoffs - Top Performers

RecruitTheBronx.com took in some CHSAA “AA” Division second round playoff action at St. Francis Preparatory School in the Fresh Meadows section of Queens where two games took place. It was St. Peter’s (Staten Island) vs. Archbishop Molloy (Queens) and Iona Prep (Westchester) vs. Bishop Loughlin (Brooklyn). Here are the standouts for both games:

 

Liam Murphy (2020) 6-7, Forward, St. Peter’s High School - Murphy is strong, athletic and can do much damage to a team when he has the ball in his hands. He is hard to contain in the low post. Is very versatile when he has the ball in his hands, as he is able to put the ball in his hands.

 

Thomas Keane (2022) 5-10, Point Guard, St. Peter’s High School - Keane can shoot from long range and is a guard that can play an uptempo game. Is very quick and shifty at his position. Knows when to pass and when to get his shot off.

 

Uriah Logan (2021) 5-11, Shooting Guard, St. Peter’s High School - Logan likes to score and take over in transition. Is very dominant when it comes to getting to the basket, he is fierce when going up to the hole and is good at absorbing contact.

 

Thomas Woods (2020) 6-4, Forward, St. Peter’s High School-  Woods makes plenty of blue collar plays for his team, such as rebounding and boxing out. A player with a lot of strength that can also put the ball on the floor and make good moves in the paint area.

 

Jack Lotito (2020) 6-0, Shooting Guard, St. Peter’s High School- Lotito gives his team plenty of energy on the floor and is capable of doing everything on the floor, which is boxing out for rebounds or passing the ball to his teammates. Has a good shooting touch on the perimeter and is fearless when going up for a layup.

 

Christian Bliss (2023) 6-1, Point Guard, Archbishop Molloy - Bliss can get to the basket and score easily, which is impressive for a freshamn in a playoff level game. Can control the tempo and can make things happen for his team. Can shoot at a high volume, but also gets his teammates involved.

 

Chima Obayi (2021) 6-0, Shooting Guard, Archbishop Molloy High School - Obayi moves well around the floor and gives maximum effort. Struggles with shot selection and making the right shots, but when things are going good for him scoring-wise, he impacts the game positively for his team.

 

Kawar Singh (2021) 6-8, Forward, Archbishop Molloy High School - Singh is solid around the basket and can make plenty of good moves in the paint. On the defensive end, he is good at sealing his defender and caroming the ball for rebounds.

 

Isaiah Milien (2021) 5-10, Shooting Guard, Archbishop Molloy High School - Milien makes great plays when going to the basket. When he has the ball in his hands, he will attempt to hoist some three-pointers as he has a nice shooting touch. He is a player that knows when and where to pick his spots to shoot.

 

Michael Hernandez (2021)  6-0, Shooting Guard, Archbishop Molloy High School Hernandez has a knack for making clutch shots when needed. He takes advantage of any & every opportunity that he can to either get to the basket or shoot from long range. Is very fearless when driving through the lane.

 

Will Harrington (2020)  6-5, Forward, Iona Preparatory School - Harrington is a hard worker in the low post that is not afraid of contact when it comes to getting rebounds. Is very active when boxing out and has good hands when it comes to both ends of the court.

 

RJ Greene (2022) 6-4, Swing, Iona Preparatory School - Greene an play both the two and three position and showcases his athleticism at both ends of the court. Finds multiple ways to score and can also obtain rebounds when in the low block. Is good at picking his spots to score and makes moves at the right time, when opportunity allows.

 

Keeshawn Jones (2020) 6-2, Shooting Guard, Iona Preparatory School - Jones is a solid defender and looks to gets steals from the defender every time on the defensive end. Makes strong moves to the basket and is very fearless when driving into the lane. Is great at absorbing physical contact and is always able to get to the free-throw line.

 

Marquis Dukes (2020) 5-9, Point Guard, Iona Preparatory School - Dukes plays an uptempo style of play and is great at facilitating the ball, but also running the fast break on the offensive end. Knows when & where to pass the ball and also can read the when the opposition, as he is prone to getting steals.

 

Dylan Farley (2021)  6-8, Forward, Iona Preparatory School - Farley is strong in the low post and is able to make plays in the paint. Is great at rebounding and can also score in the post. Is not afraid of physical contact on both ends of the floor. Has good hands when it comes to getting blocks and rebound.

 

Maurice Doby (2020) 5-9, Point Guard, Bishop Loughlin High School - Doby has the ability to shoot from long range and is not afraid to use his jet-like quickness to get up and down the court at a fast rate. Has great hands that allow for steals and his string frame allows for him to absorb physical contact in the post.

 

Taj Chiles (2020) 5-10, Point Guard, Bishop Loughlin High School - Chiles is a good facilitator when it comes to giving his teammates the ball. Is also a good shooter from three-point range and can attack the basket when running in transition.

 

Christian Joe (2022) 5-10, Shooting Guard, Bishop Loughlin High School - Joe has good court vision and makes good hustle plays on the court. Knows when to hit his teammates with good passes and can create his own shot, especially from three-point range.

 

Ronan McGouran (2021)  6-4, Forward, Bishop Loughlin High School - McGouran is a good defensive presence on one end of the court that is also a good offensive threat, as he is a player that can pick his spots to shoot. Is good at making hustle plays on both ends of the court & gives plenty of effort on the floor.

 

Assad Madassalia (2021)  6-5, Forward, Bishop Loughlin High School - Madassalia possesses plenty of strength in the low post and is good at blocking shots and establishing his presence in the low post. Although he struggles with foul trouble, he is a formidable presence in the paint area, as he establishes a major presence in the low block.
