Brass City Basketball Club, also known as BCBC, was formed in 2019 in Waterbury, CT to pull together high school players from around the state to compete in a few tournaments late in the summer and into the Fall. In 2020, the plan was to develop more teams and run a full program instead of just one team. However, the pandemic put those plans on hold until recently. BCBC is back and will be running a Fall season with the intention of multiple teams in different age levels.

The goal of the BCBC program is to help develop players and give them the opportunity and resources to compete at the next level. The college prospects on their 17u team are profiled below andis comprised of some of the top players around the state with players coming from Waterbury, Hartford, Willimantic, Cromwell, East Hartford, Windsor, and Manchester.

Future plans for the program are to develop travel teams at the middle school level and recreational teams at the elementary school level. The program is run and coached by TJ Faeth, who owns Brass City Basketball Company LLC and coaches at MLC High School in Bloomfield.

Rayshawn Adams Jr (2021) 6’1 guard, East Catholic High (CT) - Shifty guard is one of the best shooters in the class of 2021 in Connecticut, and has a tight handle that he uses to create separation and can pull up from deep with ease. Scores on all three levels and is one of the highest IQ players out there.

Blessing Agbonlaho (2021) 6’10 forward, Taft School (CT) - Big man is a natural shotblocker who has developed over the years. Very athletic for his size and attacks the rim with power. Runs the floor very well and has developed a mid-range game to complement his budding low-post arsenal of moves.

Mike Morgan (2021)  5’11 guard,  Cromwell High (CT) - One of the toughest players in New England. Plays with high energy and hustles. Lock-down defender that rebounds very well for his size on the defensive and offensive glass. Will outwork any player on the court.

Chael Gillespie (2021)  6’1 guard, Metropolitan Learning Center High (CT)- Strong framed guard finishes through contact extremely well and has deep range. Able to score at-will and is a nightmare for opponents in transition.

Justice Ellison (2021) 6’5 wing, Woodstock Academy (CT) - Big-time athlete that has deep range. Has a strong handle that he uses to shake his defender and will finish over and through his opponents.

Quron Zene (2021) 6’5 wing, Pomfret School (CT) - Plays for New York Lightning on the EYBL circuit. Only with us when not with Lightning. Tremendous work ethic that has developed his frame for the next level. Ultra-competitor that has a smooth jumper and will bully his opponents in the paint off the drive or from dominating the offensive glass.

Justin Davis (2021)  6’0 guard, Notre Dame-West Haven Prep (CT) - Knockdown shooter that is one of the best floor generals in his class. Has deep range that helps him put up point in a hurry.

Chris Hough (2021) 6’4 wing, Capital Prep High (CT) - Long and lanky wing that is a tremendous athlete. Will knockdown shots all over the court and is hard to challenge in the open court. Uses his length to disrupt on defense.

Keyshawn Mitchell (2022)  6’9 forward, Capital Prep High (CT) - One of the fastest stock risers over the past year that has legitimate division 1 talent. Very long and athletic with a tight handle and phenomenal shot, not just for his size. Is more of a wing/guard than a big man, although will rebound and block shots at a high rate. Also competes for Expressions Elite on the EYBL circuit.

Jon Rivera (2022) 6’2 guard, Crosby High (CT) - Lefty guard has become a lethal shooter with deep range. Controls the pace on offense and is a tremendous passer. Uses his length to defend and although skinny, will battle on the boards and use his athleticism to sky for rebounds.

Prince Mensah (2023) 6’5 wing, Democracy Prep Charter School - High motor athlete uses his athleticism to dominate on the boards and runs the floor exceptionally well. His length helps him to contest shots and he plays above the rim. His second jump helps him with put-backs and he has a soft touch around the basket along with a developing mid-range game.
